    for anyone wondering on manual handling, the dx I have now came with a manual rack. I was planning to swap to power since that's what I've always run but after 6 months I have to say aside from parking, I really enjoy the direct feeling you get from the manual rack at speed, it's very analog and predictable. I'll be staying manual!

    Had a manual rack on my 93 EG dx (d13), With some honda access shocks and springs it was literally the best feeling little car ever. Real fun to drive, not heavy at all and easy to park too :)

      @balloney2175 3 роки тому

      so having manual is more fun than having power steering?

    • @hybrid.but.human.official
      @hybrid.but.human.official 3 роки тому

      @@balloney2175 Absolutely!!
      You can feel the road SO much better, the steering feels very analogue/manual (not sure how to better phrase it), and the car feels more "glued" in turns (probably from the additional feedback and being able to feel the effort being put into different turns). If a loss of traction is starting to occur you can feel it a lot better too, including when driving surfaces change.
      Plus, a tiny bit less weight and one less thing for typically low-torque engines to turn.
      People complain about parking but it really isn't a big deal in cars this light, I've never understood why people are opposed; the moment the car is rolling just 1-2mph it's easy to turn again, while feeling amazing at higher speeds.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  7 років тому +3

      The angle at which the rack is held to the subframe will be different and throw the geometry of slightly, therefore it can wear out/cause binding in a short amount of time. I read on a few forums of this happening to more than one person. Seemed to be a common issue.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  7 років тому

      Doing that would still leave the rack at a slight angle on the passenger side because of the extra bushing. I wouldn't do that to my car, you may create the binding issues and then when you align it, it might still pull in one way more than the other because of the incorrect angle. Which spacer?
