      That just meant at least 5/7 judges had him first in each round - that's how you get a perfect score in bodybuilding. It doesn't mean that they considered him flawless, just that he was voted the winner by the majority of judges. In which sense is this suspicious?

    So this is the reason why they say that all the competitors will be measured against the defending champion, so if Phil Heath gets a perfect score for looking like him 1 year before, hardly someone else will get perfect score unless he is truly amazing, leaps beyond the defending champion.

    • @timjones7336
      @timjones7336 6 років тому

      Khotta Bogard well.. every judge ranks all the competitors from 1st to last based on ...*data not found*. Then they just discard the lowest & the highest.
      A ‘perfect score’ just means all judges had the same person as number 1.
      I’d like to see the evaluation criteria published, and then the evaluations against that criteria also shared to accompany each competition outcome... so we could truely understand what was being judged.
      I would suggest that, compared to some other competitors, Phil is weakest in the symmetry round - simple due to his lack of shoulder width, and more importantly his bloated midsection. If it’s a muscle building competition, he can hardly be penalised for things he can’t change through bodybuilding (his width), but he should be penalised for having a stomach protrude further than his chest..

    Can you tell me what country's do the Judges at the Olympia come from and why are there more competitors from USA then any other country? .
    Am I right that the top 10 competitors get an automatic entry in to next years show ?
    To qualify you have to win a major IFBB show like Mr Universe or Arnold Classic . Is it true that some American bodybuilders will travel to Europe and Australia and enter Olympia qualifying shows even though they have already qualified just to keep the Olympia an American dominated show .
    Bit like the World Series of baseball that only has USA teams .

    What I don't understand is why the stage background is not one uniform color, instead of slapping the huge "JOE WEIDER'S OLYMPIA" logo. Jeeze thanks for letting everbody know what show this is, for the case somebody accidentally strolls in.
    Look @ 1:26 how it optically influences Dexter Jackson his lat sweep. Being in the front row it's probably not as bad but still present and nobody, not judges, can decide how they perceive things.

    • @Stoirelius

      Because that would be unfair. A bodybuilder can still try to correct asymmetry in other muscles, if he have a bigger arm than the other for example he can try to correct that through training. The same can't be said about his abs.
