Many moons ago I had a Dime 3ST, bought it from Mars Music in Somerville, Ma. At the time it was the most expensive guitar I had ever bought. I also had the full Warhead stack. I pawned the guitar to finance my bands album. Worst mistake of my life... The pawn shop sold it before the time was up to buy it back, the dude saw that it was worth way more than the loan, when I went back to get it it was gone. I've been hunting for it ever since or one like it. 20 years...If memory serves it was serial number 0000095.
This has nothing to do with this video, it was just on my mind while watching and how many guitars, awesome and not so awesome I've lost along the way. Ola, thank you for testing shit, thank you for all the nostalgia you bring and thank you for keeping this old musician/gearhead/metalhead up to speed on what's current!

This guitar would be so easy to Mod the hell out of it. Pariah BlackHeart humbucker and a Bare Knuckle Cobra for the Neck. Follow Ola's lead and lower and disconnect the middle pikcup, replace with 3 way switch. You could mod the neck joint and make it like a JS1000, so you have 2 bolts on the lower horn side taking 1 1/2 inch bolts, and the other side (top side) taking 1 3/4 inch bolts. This is a very comfortable neck heel. Takes some time and some 180 grit sandpaper.. and the 2 shorter bolts. If someone is considering doing this - the low side (short side) is 11/16ths and the taller side is 1 full inch. (this what to sand it to on the body to give you that easy access slant. Yes - you will cut into the lower horn a bit. The area has to be big enough to put the neck plate back on. And then smooth it out so it is not an ugly mess.

So if you get Problems with them, the reason is most likely wear. But as long as you are not "Steve Vaiing" the shit out of it, a FR Special is perfectly fine and will last you quite a while.

Nope, the Special doesn´t have the same measurements as the Korean 1000 & 1500 Series or the proper German OFR and it´s made out of cheapo metal alloys. It doesn´t have nearly the sustain that the high-end variants have, because the trem block is much thinner & also the saddles & blade kinfes will wear out like crazy.
Stay away from any Floyd Rose Specials & 2000 Series.

I have that same problem with all strats. I always end up moving the volume knob down one position and using just one tone knob. I fixed the knob moving when i hit it by using a rubber washer under the knob but i got tired of hitting it due to my picking technique so i just do the two knob setup.

That was really cool, I never thought would see Ola Playing The wicker man and enjoying it !!! xD
By the way, the spects are some kind of tribute to his Favorite Jackson from the "Seventh son" era, thats why the San dimas shape and the Non-recessed floyd. And this is the entry level, the USA comes with Dimarzio distortion (maple) or S.Duncan (rosewood)

I got this one and the Dave Murrat Strat, and the Strat is a clear step better in pretty much all areas, however, the SDX is a good guitar but with some limitations I'd say.

Adrian is a great guitarist. Every time I have seen Maiden in concert I have enjoyed his solos the most. Fear of the Dark RULES. Great sounding video. I like the guitar, it looks fabulous.

It was actually really hard for me to learn wasted years, for some reason my right wrist would *not* trem pick, untill I spent 3 weeks learning Knights of Cydonia... then it was EZ. This is a cool looking strat, I'd probably go for a seth lover or lollar imperial in the bridge. (Or an ES335 bridge pickup)

Out of all three of those guys when I seen them Dave Murray clearly had the most transparent tone. Also cut through the best.

I think Adrian also recently put out an album with Richie Kotzen. I also had to lower the middle pickup on my strat.

Where is truss rod access? Do you have to remove the guitar neck? :D

Any chance Solar can make a 25.5" scale length 7 string with a low profile trem (i.e. one where the fine tuners don't stick high up)? Or making one with a non-double locking trem like Music Man does on their JP models, or like Ibanez does on certain models like their AZ24047 (which has a Gotoh T1872S Tremolo with Gotoh MG-T locking tuners) to avoid fine tuners altogether? I'd love to buy one of your guitars, but I have small hands and like wide stretches, so I basically need a 25.5" scale, and the way I pick it's way more comfortable to me to have a low profile trem or non-double locking trem with no fine tuners.

Hey ola i know its a bit off topic but im trying to get my first dime washburn. Ideally id love a BSG boogie bolt. But realisticly id just want something that doesnt sound like piss. I bought a dean CFH bolt and was astonished they even had the nerve to put dimes name on that POS. Anyways if your selling any of your washburn dime guitars or know of anyone selling any please let me know. Depending on the guitar i have a decent budget. Thanks.

Hey Ola. Would it ever be on the plans of Solar guitars to ever have non recessed floyd rose guitars? If no, what could be stopping you excluding demand? I personally love non recessed floyds, but nowdays it seems like options are really limiting.
