Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes (Japanese: マーヴル VS. カプコン クラッシュ オブ スーパー ヒーローズ Hepburn: Māvuru bāsasu Kapukon: Kurasshu obu Sūpā Hīrōzu) is a crossover fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It is the third installment in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, which features characters from Capcom's video game franchises and comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The game debuted in Japanese arcades in January 1998. It was ported to the Dreamcast and PlayStation, which were released from 1999 through 2000. The game was re-released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as part of the Marvel vs. Capcom Origins collection.
Players select a team of characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes to engage in combat and attempt to knock out their opponents. In contrast to the series' previous entry, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, the game features characters from numerous Capcom video game franchises, rather than strictly Street Fighter characters. While the gameplay is largely identical to its predecessor, Clash of Super Heroes features two distinct changes: the removal of the traditional character assist system and the introduction of the "Variable Cross" attack.
The Dreamcast version of the game was praised for its visuals, gameplay, and translation of the original arcade experience. Due to the PlayStation's limited RAM capacity, Capcom removed tag team battles in an attempt to preserve the game's speed and graphical integrity. Consequently, the PlayStation port received mixed reviews. A sequel to Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, was released in 2000. - Розваги

This is my favorite version of Ryu. The fact that you can switch his playstyle to Ken's and Akuma's is sweet!
Another thing, the Shinryuken is the only Hyper Combo you didn't use throughout this video.

That's was awesome, I enjoyed, and I own both versions, ps1 and dreamcast and love them both
Saying the Dreamcast version is better than the PS1 version is the same as people saying the PS4 version of a game is better than the PS3 version.
You can't judge it too harshly because the Dreamcast was released 3 years after the PS1 and it had a little more advanced hardware because of that.
The PS1 was released in 1994 while the Dreamcast was released in 1998.
I personally love the PS1 version because it suites my style a little more of a 1v1 with assists.
Any version of the game that you can get your hands on is a masterpiece and don't let anyone tell you other wise.
If you like one over the other then that is your opinion and embrace it.

You need to hold Select on the controller when selecting Ryu to play as Ken Ryu, and Start if you want to play as Evil Ryu. The same applies with Zangief, hold Select when selecting Zangief to play as Mech Zangief
You mean Ken mode & Akuma mode.

Always wondered WHY THE HELL they make Ryu a 3 in 1 char(fighting as himself, as Ken and as Akuma/Evil Ryu) instead of putting the actual Ken and the actual Akuma in this game...
There's a lot of Street Fighters that should be here... SF is the MOST famous and popular franchise of Capcom... NO OTHER could ever beat and many people don't give a shit for other Capcom characters...
Well it's called Marvel vs. Capcom not Marvel vs. Street Fighter. They also already had two Marvel vs. Street Fighter games before this one anyways so people could just play those ones instead. Also many people love the Capcom characters they just became an afterthought in MVC2.
I agree with what Romantiq said. This was likely done to make room for other Capcom characters and not have too much shotos on the Capcom side. Furthermore, I read from a Twitter user that it might be due to Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter featuring almost half the SF side having shotos.

This version was definitely more fun because it had a lot more contents than the Dreamcast version (and yes I know the Dreamcast version is better because it a perfect arcade port to the home console but it just didn't have extra feature that the PSone haves) I enjoyed the living hell out of this game when I bought back then and this game still holds up to this day

The PS1 had extremely limited memory and that's the reason why this port is not a tag team game compared to the arcade version
Since ps1 and the arcade version are different they have tag team but you could chose anything in the ps1 version and the character selection is different

Because PSX limitations, when you perform The Special Hyper Combo, the enemy becomes your partner instead of the character you choose. In the Arcade version, this Hyper Combo Mode is performed by both character you choose, because Arcade version has no hardware limitations.

The game can't handle more than 2 characters actually fighting on screen at one time so his partner is just a mirrored version of the opponent.
The PSX version had tag team remove from arcade mode and vs. mode due to the console's limited ram capability, only cross over mode had tag team. Also, I have the full version of Marvel vs. Capcom Origins on Xbox 360.

a capcom tirou leite de pedra nesse port, ficou muito bom mesmo não dando pra trocar de personagem, se bem q eu sempre odiei essa parada de trocar de personagem, acho podre, portanto pra mim esse port foi perfeito, loading bem rápido, quadros de animação no personagem não fazem diferença alguma para a diversão, quando vc está jogando vc não fica parado prestando atenção nos quadros de movimentação, e só dá pra perceber quando um fica ao lado do outro, nota dez essa conversão, jogabilidade idêntica ao arcade, capcom é capcom e ps1 foi uma lenda, nessa época saturno já tinha ido para o caixão oq fez o ps1 ganhar muitos títulos q não saíram para o derrotado saturno, como the king 98, 99, last blade, capcom vs snk e muitos outros, melhor vídeo game da história!!!

Kanzuki I found it completely damn stupid that they would create the Dreamcast console and only have it run for about a year and a half, while the Playstation ran for 5-6 years. Why the hell would they waste their time on making a superior console that PS1, only to abandon it later. Morons
David Probably cuz they thought it was gonna sell like hotcakes. It was so much of a failure that they dropped out & stopped making consoles
The failure of the Dreamcast (and Sega consoles in general) had its origins back with the release of the Sega CD and 32X add-ons; Those two (especially the 32X) damaged Sega's reputation as console makers in the eyes of consumers. This led to the lackluster performance of the Saturn which made it more than apparent that Sega's stake in the console market was on a path to ruin. Ironic thing is (as you mentioned) their arcade ports were superior to the ones seen on the super successful PS1. I personally thought the Dreamcast and N64 were better consoles than the PS1 in the 64-bit age.
Dreamcast version is miles better.
