Carlos Martinez yes you do! There are two Ethernet cable ports too for LAN setup
Raymond Hahn I been working on it for a few hours, this used system didn’t come with the optical cable so I had to rush to target before they closed to pick one up... now I’m setting it up again but its still not producing any sound from the actual playbar even after putting my tv from standard to optic

Hey! I plugged it into my tv and set it up but it didn’t show any of that tv setup stuff, it only let me play music from my phone. 🤔
Go to your TV setup settings and use the optical output option

Can you play through phone? Mp3 and you tune. With out tv getting involved
Hey Jack, yes you can play with the mobile app. Also works with Spotify, Pandora etc…

How do you know when it's on or off?
Hey Alvaro! It's always on but you can see if there is power indicator by clicking the side buttons on the right. Also, when you use the remote there is an indicator light flashing on the front right bottom. Hope this helps!
Is the Sonos connected to the tv via Ethernet or is it connected to your WiFi box?
Hi, it’s connected via optical cable.

Hey Nate, not sure what you mean but if optical cable is in your tv remote should work the Sonos volume.
There was more than one Sonos app in the App Store? How do you know which one is it??
Hi Margarita, get the Sonos S1, there is also a new one S2 but may not work with some devices.
No hdmi?...can this only be used with Sonos subwoofer?
Correct! no HDMI but you can connect to TV with optical cable and then add sub along with additional speakers with sonos mobile app.

Correct! no HDMI port but has optical cable to connect to TV.
It has high quality optical sound.
@@realtoraydotcom the beam has hdmi that allow the beam to be turned on with television. does the optical out do this type of connectivity?

Sonos Arc, Arc SL, and Beam (Gen 2) support playback of Dolby Atmos audio via Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby TrueHD. They must be connected to HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC to play any Dolby Atmos content. You can find more information about playing Atmos audio on support.sonos.com
Why don't you tell people Playbay cannot be used as regular bluetooth like every other Soundbar. one has to go through the Sonos App and even then it only connects to certain apps. so if you want listen to lets say regular UA-cam videos, Pandora ect ect one cannot. plz don't respond saying you can listen to UA-cam music . that's not the point.
