All the WellRed guys are fantastic. Trae, Corey Ryan Forrester (aka "CHO"), Drew Morgan, Mark Agee, they're all great. They have a network of Podcasts known as "The Skewniverse" and all are worth watching. There's "WellRed", "Weekly Skews", "Puttin' on Airs", "Gravy Baby" and more.
I adore Trae as a southern Democrat. He’s such a wonderful human being. Remembering his old podcasts where he and the boys were just getting hammered on the road to where they are now is actually awesome.
Particularly glad you had Trae back on your podcast, Mr. Franken, as I can't get enough of what he has to say about recent events. Saw him perform in Tulsa and got to meet him afterwards. What a nice individual!
There **are** a handful of things I wouldn't mind "going back" to. Separation of church & state, for example. Republicans who respect the results of elections (win or lose) would also be nice.
I know it sounds so trite, cliched and corny, but Trae really does inspire in a big wonderful way. His show with mark Agee is one of the things I look forward to every week.
As a new sub., surprised at how late to the game I am, I must give my thanks as I have held such respect for you for so many years. 💙 And my first episode has Trae Crowder! Exclamation points all around!
Mr Franken - I always thought you got a raw deal when they forced you out of congress for an innocent pic - I wish we had you and more like you in congress today.
As frustrating as it is, he's also a great example of how you don't need an official seat to keep doing a good job and trying to elevate your community. He's still a voice of reason and kindness, and has been doing a good job using it.
Thanks Al. It was a good episode. Looking forward to writing-in your name (again - like I have since 2008). I originally paired you with Gore; then Bernie for a long time. Now I think between you and Katie Porter, you could start to get this country turned around, headed back in an equitable direction. Remember, nobody (in their right mind) actively seeks out "greatness", rather it is thrust upon them in the face of insurmountable adversity. I'll never give up hope that you'll step back into the political arena. Peace and love in these deeply troubling, money-laundering, lawless times. ☮️ ❤
Let me say it One More Time... We MUST win Pennsylvania! Winning Pennsylvania makes the Electoral College count much more difficult for Trump. Josh Shapiro is it.
Great show Al, Anne is fantastic, very knowledgeable, and Trae is great also. It is amazing that Musk and Thiel have some links to South Africa and the way they are both trying to influence American politics.
I love Trae! And Anne. 3:03 The first place I heard that Tim Walz is the VP! I am so happy about it! (Both, Harris and Walz were born in 1964.) The US is older democracy. We should fix the mess how we govern and with that, show a positive example. Raise the bar!
But then he added "I'm just tellin' ya." I think what he's saying is, "If I had a say, it would be Walz." And I couldn't agree more. I liked him from the very second I saw him beaming in FOX News' hosts faces about the idiotic stuff they were saying. Then he opened that mouth and spoke like the kind of leader I've wanted my whole life (and I'm 50). He's basically like Bernie Sanders but better at articulating common sense without whipping out "millions" talk, and way more BITEY to those who deserve it!! Problem is, he's probably a bit TOO progressive for Harris' taste, and he also has not been in politics very long. If I recall he got his first office at 46 and he's only 60 now. But Governor in 14 years is pretty dern amazing! And if my wildest polyanna dreams come true he will keep moving up!
@@audreymuzingo933 If Walz is now Franken's preferred pick, at the very least, he has changed his mind. He indicated last week that he would have picked Kelly, if I understood him correctly
@@audreymuzingo933 I think you are right. English is my second language and "I'm just tellin' ya" I missed a "shade". Just checked online and there is no sign about having a VP yet. Yes. I was happy because I do think that they will not choose him. I was happy to be wrong.
There is a definite surge in enthusiasm, I saw a UA-cam video of an older woman in rural TN. She is a blue dot in a sea of MAGA red. Her channel is called "Grammie's Views". The comments section was a wonder, no trolling or flames, just like-minded folks lifting each other up, encouraging each other for the fight ahead. There were also heartbreaking stories of family members estranged, children disowned by parents, parents disowned by children, Families all over this nation devastated, and for what?, a depraved idolotry for a psychopathic Daddy Trump?. Yet these people persevere, refusing to relinquish reason, rationality and critical thinking, despite the obvious pain inflicted in their lives. It was wonderful to see the mutual support this woman's viewers gave each other. The power of empathy, reason, love, a shared humanity, these are the things fascism seeks to destroy in order to win minds and increase it's own power. Stand up, be counted, give aid and comfort to your compatriots. If you are thinking, we are winning. Love will win, and so shall we all.

A real pleasure to hear a very knowledgeable guest speak about a subject so important and so timely. I'm completely baffled though by the number of people who openly support what is so clearly an abomination like autocracy, or the Trump cult. What the hell is that about?
We forget how rich USA is. We can afford to provide OK - not great - basic living standard to everyone and it wouldn't even change the number of vacation homes and private jets.
My serious answer is that the basic standard would be a helluva lot better than being homeless, which is troubling to see so much in any wealthy nation. No one should be unable to afford certain standards and even rights, no matter their circumstances, especially if they are working and/or going to school.
Nice interviews, but I wished you would have followed up with the question of why authoritarians like to park their money in the US or other places, to make the case against authoritarians even stronger. Maybe have a finance person on to explain in detail what goes on financially. Thanks!
