Phew! I’m glad the situation was sorted without too much damage done….It could’ve so easily gone even further south rapidly. I’m also pleased that you didn’t just blame the bull but used the situation to learn from it.
Thanks for being man enough to show us. You’re a good chap 👍
It takes time lad, new handler and surroundings etc etc. The bull showed he was stressed, rather than angry by wanting to get away. Keep him inside for a few days, as you have and with company and he'll settle. I've been breeding bulls for years and yes I've got caught out by a few.
I'm glad everyone was ok, 900kg of loose bull is something to keep out of the way of.
I think your absolutely right Crawford, bulls had 48/72 hours of stress, fingers crossed he settles and does a good job.
Yay, I was missing the videos. I'm glad Native didn't get far and all ended well! "Learning" is always a good way to put a positive spin on things 😆👍
I had a similar encounter in March when I bought myself some young heifers - they got loose and went through about 4 fields, through a river and then towards a railway track. Honestly one of the most stressful/exhausting 6 hours of my life to date. If it wasn't for the local farmers who gave me a hand, I'd probably still be chasing them around today to be honest! Glad all safe and sound in the end for you guys also
Glad no one was hurt. It might have been different if he had made an early appearance in the Farm Shop.
Well done on highlighting the dangers of a Bull.
Glad everyone’s safe and well. Great video calving and ending with reasoning of the bull situation. Well done to all involved in the safe resolution.
Valuable lesson learned,no one hurt Crawford, thats the most important thing,It just shows how quick a situation can change.never trust a bull a quiet one is as dangerous as an aggresive one.
Absolutely. You even know the old adage about never trusting a bull.
Great video. Happy to see no one got hurt. Don’t trust any animal! That bull or any bull can do the same again at any time, without warning or being spooked !!
I’ve been waiting for this one but oh boy didn’t expect it to be so terrifying. Glad you are all safe.
I am farming in NZ...it amazes me how up in their faces you guys get. You all make me nervous leading bulls up into your little trailers...or wherever...my mind boggles at the chances of things going bad. I used to farm bulls for hamburgers so I know all about their tricks. We had 300 on in mobs of 25. A different beast to your sire bulls. But just to let you know I am so impressed with the general docility of your bulls. Well done Crawford getting Native back under control. And I hope you understand now they all have personality and character and stuff is going on in their brains like it is in ours. They get fed up. Scared. Nothing scares a bull like another bull. If you get in the way of two fighting...hmm you are like a flea ...they will squash you as if you werent there. Love your videos.
I know what your talking about, from one kiwi farmer to another. they are like big kid's, all fine and dandy until they chuck all the toys out of the cot.
Happy that Man and Beast are now safe, totally agree that all the stuff you mentioned leading up to the incident was probably why he behaved the way he did, probably out of character but never turn your back on a Bull.
Glad your all fit and well
Thank you for showing us, blimey, that was some difficult viewing though. Phew x
Can I congratulate you on showing how to calf a cow properly, time and patience, well done ❤❤❤
Very honest review of how things can go wrong. Well done for highlighting the issues that we could all face at any point. The bull will be fine I’m sure.
Things happen, just learn from it and all is good. 👍🏻👍🏻. You're not the first and you won't be the last.
Oh, Crawford, that was a harsh lesson 😢
Farming is managing disasters, and you did.
Keep safe what your doing is important
So relieved you and your Dad were not hurt. He is a nice looking bull.
Great video Crawford your a lucky man you weren’t hurt am glad he’s settled down just new surroundings and handler don’t think he’s crossed he just wanted away from that area he got spoked in 👌
Glad your back , had to watch a few old ones with Lewis my boy🙈👍👍
I got roughed up by a big Ayrshire bull, many years ago, he didn't hurt me much, but it was scary. He unfortunately thought it it was fun, and started going for people on a regular basis. After he'd attacked the vet, twice, once quite badly, he had to go. Didn't blame him tho, because it was found that he had a brain tumour, so could have been in pain, which made him grumpy.
Sorry for Big Mike! Glad you are all ok. Native is a Bonnie Looking Bull too! As Cammy would say "You Win, or You Learn "
Glad nothing serious happened hopefully the new bull preforms well for you 👍
He is nice but I liked the first bull , omg please be careful & yes it’s not his fault he probably scared & doesn’t have a clue what is going on , I hope his nose is ok 😊❤❤
Glad you're all good.
The bulls back right leg under swings hell of alot?
Glad no one was hurt, looking forward to you getting him in the field,I was up near your farm last Friday, didn’t sense any mayhem going on,seen the belted Galloway’s from the road though
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! If we all learn from our mistakes we’ll be in a good place.
Fortunate it didn't happen on a sunny super busy farm shop day
My dad always said never trust any bull and always, always took the dog in the yard or field with him. Sheeba saved my dad from the bull countless times.
The editing in this is top class 🤘🏼
It happens mate, it can happen with any animal, I had ram lamb penned up over night last week ready to go to Slaughter when loading one just lost it ramed my legs (big bruise🤦♂️) and jumped the hurdles (larma hurdles). I have been in out of the field with them for a year no issues. It’s just a shock to the system and you learn from it. As you said know one hurt.
Another great video 👍
Poor love just needed a minute to calm down and get used to new surroundings. Like any living creature a new environment can be scary even if you weigh over a ton.
Good video.
Coincidence as I was watching some of your old videos and watched the one about the cow in the housing estate that had to be shot. Glad both you and dad are okay.
Jesus!🤦🙆 Fortunately, no one was hurt! 🙏
Glad you re all ok…I m sure he’s a nice man
Jasus that was fair to close got really lucky on that one could have ended horrific great video aswell
Great video hope he works out for you a smashing looking bull
He is a braw fit bull. Hopefully he puts some vigor into getting the cows in calf. That was a learning day for you. Come to think of it you’ve had a few learning days with bulls 😂
Scary stuff, imagine if he had gotten beside the farm shop! Wow
No one hurt which is most important thing. And as you say Crawford lessens learnt
He should be fine once he settles and gets use to you guys, Look how bad Euro was at times and that was in a calm situation but he has settled nicely, like you say you have to show them respect at all times, iv been had by a cow or two but never a bull
I don't know cattle, but horses can also do that & pull away. He didn't seem to want to hurt anyone, but guess sheer size is a dangerous aspect.
You were so lucky and the Bull as you say was draged around for two days he just wanted to get some peace and quiet 🤫.
Looks like you could do with some bull washing facilities at the new shed to save a trip to farm one.
I think you are right about him having a stressful couple of days and just had enough.
I'm surprised at u lad ur around livestock a long time now not to trust any beast ! Delighted no one hurt ! I got some clatter of a heffer year's and I taught she was d pet of d group !
I like they way you have shown what happened, wonder how many other on UA-cam have had the same thing happen but not shown it , like you said u moved the bin that spooked him and then you untied the lead rope and he seen it as time to get from what scared him , you will have to build another bull pen now your have four bulls an only 3 bull pens
Christ that could have gone very wrong with people around. Yep should have left him in the trailer but we have all had scares like it and been wise afterwards.
Anyone who has handled cattle has had something similar happen to them. It happened, you learned from it. All is good.
He’s a nice bull mate, not finished growing, I reckon that back will fill out nice 👌
We had 11 stirks get out 10 days ago all went far an wide and 1 is still at large at the moment it might be heading your way
Didn't catch his name, but Mahem sounds fine :)
Glad that he didn't hurt someone or himself real bad.
I think the name is “Native”….
I've heard about alot of case's like this! We bought a lim bull from a society sale where a young child about 14 had handled the bull that day at the show and sale. When we brought him home he was an absolute danger! Bending the gate trying to come at us! 2 hour's after a 14year old had walked it. Something very funny about it all! If I ever done it again I would be getting a blood test on arrival at home to check all was well!🤨
Worked with Ayrshire bulls many years ago. Often nasty and used long rope and on occasions a tattie bag (blindfold) when moving them to and from the float.
Wow Crawford that was a scary 😨 moment
tranquilizer meds helps new animals adjust well
You and Kev were lucky there 😂your going to need extra porridge in the morning to hold that lad back
Good tanks
Ya know, he didn’t want to hurt you or he would have. He just wanted to get away.
Everytime we buy cattle we always leave them in the shed for a week to let them get familiar with new surroundings and people etc. Best of luck with him. I hate the sight of Euro your Angus bull but atleast you know he is dodgy. Cant be careful enough when it comes to bulls.
Did the underpants survive?🤣 I’m sure the bull will be fine, as he ran away instead of towards you.
Has heart issues cow calved yet? Fingers crossed she’s doing ok and everything went / goes smoothly for her and her calf 🤞🏻
Good demo of how nose rings dont work and give a false sense of security
I’m surprised you let your friend out bid you on the previous bull. But you still bought a belter.
Fair play putting it on UA-cam Crawford. Happens to us all 😂
Happy to find your channel! Will his nose ring injury heal naturally?
Yes, hes all good now
Hello
I would agree with you about don't trust a bull
I like to tell you what happened to me ! When I was a farm hand many years ago my old boss had a call about his bull in another farmer field and I was told to go and get him when I did I was told to walk along the field hedge I was walking along and I heard shutting and when I turned I was the bull running at me I had to jump though the hedge to get away from him
At least he didn't end up in a swimming pool, been there with cattle 🤦. Be careful with bucket cutting edges and cattle, been there too and had the vets bill for the stitches.
The bull was stressed, how could you have avoid that escape?
❤
Only gona be one winner there😂😂😂
Ah well done Crawford…u could have had a potentially far worse situation but u got it under control 😊
He wasn't angry, just scared and confused. If Native had wanted to hurt you , he would have.
True, wanted away from us
Main thing is, you are OK🤦
Your bull maybe doesn't like being on his own and the strange people and surroundings he will probably be fine glad no-one hurt PS you should wear a different cap that ford new Holland one will soon be a collectors item
You were very lucky
Jesus glad everyone is okay
What's your plans with him might be difficult to just mix him with the other bulls and cows plus how will you know if he does work. He might not work but the other bulls will take up the slack I've seen it before with multiple bulls and rams with females
The first bull you missed was a cheap bull! He had it in him.
🥺 OMG Crawford, bet you 💩yourself 😂😂. So glad that nobody was hurt. What a scare you must have got, think you and your dad would have needed a bandit beer to steady the nerves after that ❤
14 of them
You close where hgp is he trimmer hoofs he great cattle maybe you get him over ??
Didn't like how he was walking in ring. Back left not held properly.
Have wash down spot n the shed where can see other stock. You can always buy a bull if gt the money lol
You should have settled him in for the night before washing him down he’d had enough being in a market for 2 days as you said it was entirely your fault but hopefully you will have learned from this.
Native has the same birthday as myself 16th October ....just a 50 something year gap lol
lucky escape from the.bull but all that’s been on farm have all took a chance with a bull
Ah, he just had enough and wanted a break. Wash done and now to run to dry (jk). Glad all is well.
I'm not the only one that happened to then lol
Think u got a nicer bull than the one u lost at 4,8........best of luck wth him
Bandit time
🍺
🤣👍🏻
Can we say TQ?
Rookie error 😂😂
100%
Is the lame bull off to the factory or is there too much invested in him for him to go for beef
Bid would you
I deffinetly wouldn't say it was the bull I think he just got worked up and personely I think if you do to much with a bull they can change their temperomet very quickly
She is so poor, she needed much more food leading up to the birth. You seem more concerned about buying another bull than looking after the fella who's limping so bad. God help your animals. 😢
She gets plastered with food, always been a skinny cow doesn’t put weight on and if you watch next video the lame bulls issues are all addressed.
The audacity to move a trash can in his vicinity.
But aren't you going to call someone out to immediately come for bull that was limping and needed help?
Hes in now and treated 👍🏼
