Would the donkeys fit into calf kennels out on the hill for shelters? I was crossing my fingers that the bale was wedged tight enough not to roll back on the donkeys. One thing about camelids, they are used to rain in the Andes. Next job schooling them to ride on for the next muster.

Mate that brought back memories I had a new van years ago my dad asked me to go with him to pick up a jackass up near Dublin so off we went . no way did he want to go into van my dad took off his topcoat but over his head he walked in .i pulled in for diesel in portliosh donkey started roaring we looked like tinkers for sure . I have 2 donkeys (jenny's) with my sheep. We have a mountain lion in our area which has already taken 5 sheep off me. I had the donkeys separate from the sheep for awhile as I was worried about the lambs but after the lion situation, they are all together and the girls look after the babies. Donkeys don't need much feed, they are really resourceful plus so much fun. Mine get into the trash, eat cardboard, plywood, weeds, trees and they love take away food. Um, do NOT recommend ear twist. Mine have roam on my 5 acres year round. Haven't had their feet done in the 6 years I've had them.
Watch some videos on halter training and recall for the donkeys. Will make life easy mate. Learn to look after their feet and you are winning! Better than alarm systems and dogs for predators on the ground. Teeth and feet you'll be grand. Enjoy!
