Usually we don't put garam masala and other powders directly to the oil, we put it in the end after the puree and the cubes. Otherwise they may char and smoke if the pan is too hot. And we can also add cashew nuts and kasuri methi for extra taste :)

    Hi Wil,
Thank you for sharing this video!
I recently started watching your channel and your videos are amazing! I made this vegan tikka masala tonight for dinner and it went over so well.
I did tweak the recipe a little bit, but not by much. I used unsalted strained tomatoes, so I added 1/2 tsp salt to the recipe along with 1/4 tsp black pepper. Additionally, I added 1/2 tbsp maple syrup because I find turmeric and garam masala to be somewhat bitter.
This came together really quickly. I threw the rice in my Instant Pot and made the curry while the rice cooked. I served it with steamed cauliflower and fresh cilantro.
What surprised me was how easy it was. I find curries to be intimidating sometimes because of all the washing, chopping and simmering that has to be done. This one not so much. It was incredibly fast. I could easily make this any night of the week.
I love the intro to your videos and the direct instructions. I like that you don't ramble and you are straight to the point. Life is too short to waste time...let's get straight to the flavour!
    Thanks for the great experience!

Hi, Wil! Tikka actually means fire roasted meat on skewers. You are preparing a paneer masala with tofu instead. Anyway, be careful when you use the spices. They might burn if you add them to the oil. They should actually be used after you add the tomato sauce. My husband explained me this. He is an Indian cook and has also studied ayurvedic medicine.

Hello! Just wondering if you ever do any Tempeh recipes? I made this recipe with Tempeh and it came out pretty good but I have trouble getting the right flavor it seems. For example on this one, it was a bit too tomato-y! and I think it's just a matter of getting the the proportions right, like with the Garam Masala and other spices. I even tried mellowing it out with some cashew milk but the flavor remained very strong, which I like but is a little too strong for my wife. I think the GM is a spice that you have to get right and I love it so probably go too heavy sometimes?

I'm drooling! I miss tikka masala. Most of the vegan ones have tomato chunks, and I'm not a fan. So excited to try this! How many servings does this make?

Char Walters I tried the mushroom soup recipe and it was awesome! I did not have a potato but had some leftover bean noodles from making Vietnamese spring rolls so tossed those in and it still was the best creamy vegan or even non vegan mushroom soup ever! Hope your was a success.

This is the only recipe I often make it at home since my marriage..... we make mixed veg masala with the same gravy. Just par boil carrot, broccoli, french beans, tofu n add it to gravy...... one best magic garnish is just roast dry fenugreek leaves n rub it with in ur palm n sprinkle on any indian curry...... u get dry fenugreek leaves in Asian markets as kasuri methi.... 👍plz let me know if u liked my tip after u try it
