- In my latest efforts to find the most comfortable way to play my #NintendoSwitch, I'm trying out Mobapad's M6 HD. They come packed with a ton of features and much better grips than standard joy cons. But, are they the best option available? Let's find out!

man you should have way more followers!!
I finally got my Switch (OLED) and I need a second pair of joycons & gamepad for multiplayers and a more confortable/ergonomic configuration. Mobapad M6 HD BLACK is going to be my choice. Love your review/honesty.
Hey, did you end up getting them? My question is, how do they feel for 4 player games? I'm trying to decide whether to get these for both handheld and 4 player play.
Do the controllers feel okay when used individually with 4 player?
Hi! When it comes to play with a single joycon (for instance tennis in switch sports), at the beginning the mobapad's joycon feels a bit unsafer than the official joycon as the mobapad's is not completely sorrounded by your hand (it is much bigger). However, once you tie it to your wrist with the belt these feeling almost disappears completely. So, it terms of confort (not functionalities) it is worse than the standard one but good enough. For me, it is a great purchase: the best joy cons for the handheld mode, a great pro pad once you fix the 2 joy cons together ( I got the mobapad charging grip; 10$ on sales) and a good single joycon (full official functionalities but less confort).
Good stuff. A thorough, balanced and cautionary review. The best kind of review is one that doesn’t railroad a consumer one way or another leaving them guilt free and informed enough to make up their own mind. I will be picking these up along with the Nyxi Wizard and Hori Split pad. Thank you for your services.
Above all, to me, it looks so cool.
This review was pretty good. I went ahead and subbed- see what else you reviewed.
you're a great reviewer man. hope to see some more stuff. you deserve more subs
The thing is…I concluded the joycons are best, and with the Satisfye - ZenGrip Ronin, the comfort concern has been fully resolved. These controllers are great, though, and I would definitely try them out if they are as comfortable as the Pro controller.
Oh, yeah, I feel like these would be a bit of a side grade if you're already comfortable with a Satisfye grip. Personally, I do tend to like the M6HD more than the Satisfye grips we have lying around, due to the bigger buttons and sticks. (Though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the compactness of my Joy Cons + Switchmate grip.)
whoever came up with joy con should be sent to prison.
@@kekw9958 Nintendo still operates under the principle they are selling to Japanese kids. And they are, for sure, but also millions of grown-ups with larger hands. The joycons can be made comfortable with accessories, they couldn’t be made smaller with accessories if they were designed for big hands. Hence here we are.
I've been using the Satisfye grip for years and I do like it BUT...
These Mobapads are amazing , I put my Satisfye grip away. It's the real deal , the sticks and buttons are so awesome. This is how i wish the Switch felt from day one.
It was worth every penny, these are the most comfortable Joycons I've used.
I tried Doyoky brand and Mobapads are way better.
Great review! Love your on camera personality. Very informative
Excellent review!
I wanna see your take on Dobe TNS-0163B Joy Cons since the reviews on them are extremely rare
At first glance, they don't look like something I'd order for myself. The look like slightly larger joy cons with a bit less design polish. I'm also not a huge fan of the separated d-pad buttons. I tolerate them on joy cons out of sheer utility, but I've yet to find a really good separated d-pad I'd recommend to others (outside Sony's controllers).
@GameXData what Joy con would you recommend for spare?, something that has gyro since I play a lot of BOTW and also a just in case. Because I'm still on the planning process to re-shell and fix the grinded screws
I hate how iFIXIT Mako set is only available in the west and getting them here in Southeast Asia is hard asf
@fishbones3650 Ah, that sucks. If you're looking for something similar to the Mako set, maybe check out LTT's precision screwdriver set. I've absolutely no clue if the shipping or price would be better, but it might at least be another option of reasonable quality.
For Joy con recommendations, I'm actually still a huge fan of the Mobapad M6 HDs from this video. If the price or clicky buttons are a bit much, their store also has other options with seemingly more coming soon. NYXI also has some decent options with gyro. Although, I've tended to find their build quality a bit lesser than Mobapad in the past.
Alternatively, if you're mostly looking for handheld play, Satisfye and Mechanism both have solid grips of different price points that make standard joy cons feel much more comfortable. Here's a link to my review on the Mechanism grip from last year if you were interested: ua-cam.com/video/I-C4Kd57tXI/v-deo.html
@@GameXData I had mobapad S1 in my wishlist since it's cheaper 1k php, 3k php for M6 HD and yeah in a third world country all I can say is "only a man can dream" 🤣. But yeah I might get a highend mobapad controller once I get my hands on switch 2
Solid review!
I’ve been using the mobapad m6hd since shortly after the release. I have had no interest in anything else, since
I've watched a few reviews for these joy cons and this was honestly the most in depth and non-biased. The mention of the clickiness and sweaty palms is something I never really considered before but now I'm thinking about it. I probably am still gonna get them though. Seems like the best joy con alternative available at the moment. Great vid!
You sold me. Litle comprimise and has HD rumble. Just a shame thye are not easy to get or find. They are not really on Amazon canada and i will get nailed for import duty ordering from the manufacturer direct.
Does it support amiibo?
Yes! It's one of the features that still keep it as my main joy con substitutes, tbh.
@@GameXDataapologies I just rewatched the video and it does explain it
Do these work to play Mario party?
Just out of curiosity, were the spare face plates white or black?
I got a spare pair of white plates in the box. Mobapad sells a bunch of other colors through their store
@GameXData cool I was double checking. The main reason I wanted the black controllers over the white controllers was the fact white face plates were included with the black controllers.
@@joeygutierrez3I can confirm that, I was so glad to find a couple of white skins in the box of My black mobapad m6 hd 🎉
Glad someone finally mentioned how these will make your hands sweatier. I have the same issue with mine.
Glad to know I'm not alone! As much as I love using these, it's so awkward to come away from a long play session with sweaty palms.
Why is that you think? I have both these and the new S1 HD’s and they both get sweaty lol. Never had this problem with normal Joycons
Awesome review! I like how these look but the harsh clicky sounds is a drawback.
if its to pricy just get the m6 s they have all the same features except for hd rumble amd cost only 45$
I was pretty interested but those super clicky face buttons seem loud and are a bit of a deal breaker
Honestly, fair. As much as I enjoy clicky buttons, I'd honestly love to see a version of these controllers with softer (quieter) buttons.
The loud buttons are the only thing I don’t like about these. They can get a little annoying after awhile. I still think they’re worth it though.
Why you comparing hori split pad to m6 hd when you can get m6s which is almost the same as hd without hd rumble and same price and times better than what’s hori offering.
You mean beyond the context provided in the video for why this video was created? Well, the Split Pads and M6HD are two very different approaches to controller design. A comparison between the M6HD and M6S would begin and end at "the M6HD has more features, so buy it if you want those features." Meanwhile, a comparison between the Split Pads and M6HD allows for discussions of whether the differing approaches actually feel different in practice. Ultimately, I care about user experience most, and that's why the conclusion's framed as it is.
As someone who has experience with both controllers, I want to share my thoughts. I had to purchase the Mobapad M6 HD because my Hori Split Pad Pro developed drift on the left stick. I rarely used the Split Pad Pro, maybe only 3 to 4 times a month.
In my opinion, the Mobapad joycons are the better choice, without a doubt.
Anyone think he sounds a bit like Patrick Bateman?
Just you
