    Nitro deck as a wired controller is a great feature for everyday players. Most people just don't have tons of switch controllers lying around, and even if you have extra joycons, the odds they're charged when you have people over trying to play Kart are low. With this, a pro controller, and the joy cons, you have 4 decent controllers for 4 player gaming.

    I mainly use the Satisfye grip for the comfort and keeping the slim form factor while traveling. The right side of the grip is wider, giving my thumb more room to work with as opposed to the other options. Can't wait for the Ronin series, where I can set my Switch in the dock for the night without taking out the grip!

    I like the retro flag one but the deal breaker for me is the charging position I love how the nitro deck lets you charge the switch from the back instead of the ridiculous uncomfortable location of right in the middle front of the device like it usually is. Yes, this. Get the replacement sticks once your current ones start drifting, and buy the Satisfye grip. It’s perfect. Hell you can even go with a cheap $10-15 grip if you want. By doing this method instead of buying this other bullshit, you don’t have to worry about “oh this joycon doesn’t have gyro, this doesn’t have NFC, none of them have HD Rumble” and so on. You get all the good features of these other controllers with that first party feel and features. Only downside is no D-Pad, so if that really matters to you and those D-Pad caps aren’t good enough for you, maybe consider one of these

    My favourite case for playing the switch is the Plenbo G-Case. It does everything else besides using Hall effect sticks. It has Bluetooth for other controllers, extra battery packs using a magnetic connection, it can convert to a tabletop mode and the handles transform and connect together with joy-cons to create a controller like experience similar to the grip that comes with a switch. It also has two slots to hide game carts and three options for grip styles. My only gripe is that Plenbo make a slimmer version of the travel case just to carry the switch with g-case, cables, and their dock.

    The Scull&Co. Grip option just gets a side mention? And not even a link in the description? I think their interchangeable grip feature with different grip styles to suit different scenarios/tastes is great -- that and it has always been possible to dock the Switch with these on.
    And in addition to their grip option, their ecosystem of accessories is awesome too; I have their thumb stick grip/extenders to alleviate the range of motion issue with the joycon sticks, their 'Joygrip' which also has the same interchangeable grip options to facilitate a more comfortable docked-play option for those who can't get a pro controller for any reason (on top of enabling one to charge the joycons separated from the system), and their 'Max Carry' case which fits the Switch with any of the grips attached while also having a compartment to store their awesome Switch Dock, the 'Jumpgate' (which has it's own list of amazing features).
    I would've expected them to get a talked about a bit more in a video like this 😅

      Agreed. I love my NeoGrip, especially the way the green and white one matches my TOTK Switch. It’s also so satisfying to have that sort of grasp on the device and eliminate the joycon wobble, then still be able to just slide the whole thing right back into the dock.
      I also love the joycon caps. I don’t even heighten them, just use them to make the sticks more “grippy.”
      I’ve been considering getting a third party dock for a secondary tv and travel. You say the NeoGrip has served you well? No issues? I just get scared over the chance of it messing with the switch

    • @kylesanders9543
      @kylesanders9543 Рік тому +1

      @Virishking You mean the Jumpgate dock? If so, yeah it's definitely served me well :) no issues at all. I also use it for my secondary TV and it's awesome for travel - even if the dock is too big for certain scenarios the actual functioning part of it, which they call the "Core drive" can be detached, which is basically just a USB/HDMI Hub the size of a twin Kit Kat bar that works with not only the Switch but my laptop too!
      I understand your worry with third-party docks though, but after doing a bunch of my own research I can offer some advice: All you need to make sure of is that you're getting the right charging brick/cable. The majority of cases where a third-party dock has killed a switch has come down to the Voltage/Wattage/Amperage of the third-party charging adapter being incompatible with what the Switch needs / accepts. The jumpgate doesn't come with its own charging cable (or HDMI cable bear in mind) so I'd say the safest option is to just purchase Nintendo's own official Switch dock charging cable. The official option is pricer than other options though, so you can get a third party one - like I did - and be just fine but... and I cannot stress this enough... you neeeed to make sure it has exactly the same charging specs as the official one or you could brick your Switch.

    • @kylesanders9543
      @kylesanders9543 Рік тому +1

      @Virishking Oh also to add to my previous reply - Scull&Co. have made two version of the Jumpgate, one for the first Switch and a newer model for the Switch OLED, just get the one that matches the Switch you have. I don't know if anything will go wrong / be incompatible if you don't... but better to be safe than sorry haha

    So far my favourite switch controller is the 8bitdo pro ultimate. It has fully button and stick remapping (including stick axis inversion which is now my top optional addon), has gyro, halleffect sticks, and is closest in form factor to a switch pro controller which is legit the most comfy official switch controller.
    Nitrodeck have just launched their updated nitrodeck, the + version which now includes button/stick remapping, and has both sticks on top which is my personal preference (as a WiiU tablet lover, i think that is still the most comfy controller cuz BIG, like bigger than the Xbox Duke!), so hoping the deck+ lives up to all those features working without issue for me.
    Tho ideally, my perfect switch controller would be more like the Hori splitpad pro, but with all the features of the 8bitdo ultimate (wireless, gyro, halleffect sticks, full button/stick remapping).

      Yeah. I got the Satisfye grip a while back and I have to say it's been so much better for portable play than not having a grip. Haven't tried the Nitrodeck though so can't compare against that
      So nice to know having it in a grip I'm not going to accidentally damage the Switch's connecting rails on the joycons, and it's so much sturdier for putting it on a table than the original Switch's built in kickstand.

I put hall effect sticks in all of my joycons even my boxypixel shelled ones. The new nyxi hyperion pro also feel nice. I also think the stick come off to easily on the nitrodeck. The tranparent purple plastic on the retroflag also looks just awesome.
    Update: Ok I have tried using this exclusively for a few days and I am not liking it. The triggers are driving me NUTS I can't rest my fingers on the them AT ALL.

    The main issue with the switch is the joycons, Much of it stems from Nintendo wanting the joycons to be used in one hand so adding in large grips would make it worse for single joycon games despite very few people using this feature. Same reason why the d-pad sucks and is just 4 buttons instead of the usual cross style they used in the past. Personally my main is the Hori Split Pad Pro as I don't have any other controllers besides my standard Joycon. Wanted to check out the Nitrodeck or the Retroflag. My left joycon does drift so the satisfye isn't really a great option for me

Also living in a home where the family takes so much space plus with the wife being at home. Works good flawless just with a nicer mini led liquid renta XDR display.
