See some bassists focus on slap or fingerstyle or chords but Nitti incorporates every aspect of those into his music and not only does he incorporate it, he incorporates it WELL!!
Woo slow or the police gonna give you a ticket no wait you literally slowed down the groove.to a slow funky trip... Now that's ok you can go it's great playing fast or slow. Impressive clean and great tone. Thanks for posting your talents and passion . God bless and keep that music light shining bright. Merry Christ mas
Skitzo, good name for this song, cause he is all over the place. He could have made three or four songs out of that one, but I love it. This cat is a beast & he is sooooo funky. Check out his new cd "Liminal". The tital track "Liminal" & "The Good Foot" are just down right nasty.
Yeah, the slap groove he does in this tune is one of the most addictive things I have ever heard. This entire tune is just spectacular. What a monster player.
Adam is a good friend of mine and he's one of the nicest guys you can meet. My advice to anyone talking trash let's see your resume of who you played with, what you've done, and who you endorse. Adam got THE first db751 that's how much Aguilar respects him so until you have that kind of credit give Adam the respect he obviously and rightfully deserves.
One thing i dont like about this kind of musicians is that they never make me shiver or move my emotions. Although they have great sense of timing, awesome skills in tecnique, quick and accurate fingers on both hands and absolute knowledge of the frettboard, these guys are machines and i respect their work but I think that music is meant to make you feel things and travel to other worlds.
I have this on CD (Balance) and have his Evidence CD as well, and would LOVE to have a DVD showing these performances in crisp, clear, and close fashion. Adam Nitti is amazing and deserves more notoriety than he has had up until now. That Warrior bass is sounding awfully good too. I wonder what D'Addario strings on my F-Bass BN6 would sound like. Hmm.
WOW! I have the CD, but SEEING you performing it was a blast just watching your finger work. Makes me feel proud to be a bass player! I HAVE WORK TO DO!!!
@PLASMA22280 It's a Warrior bass, I think. As far as scales, I'm hearing quite a bit of Dorian mode in the minor sections (1, 2, flat 3, 4, 5, 6, flat 7, 1).
I don't know how anyone can criticize Adam. He's in my top 5 favorite bassists to listen to. Amazing technique and style. Very melodic compared to other bassists who solo, on top of his great technique. Adam's really, really, awesome. And my favorite music is Thrash/Death Metal, so I don't know where some dummy metalhead (probably some teen with no clue) comes here talking garbage. Metal musicians dig this kind of stuff and are always looking to improve their playing.
Look up "Broken Pt. 1" or "Cry for Peace" if you want to hear Adam Nitti play something that is almost completely focused on musicality. He's more than capable of musicality as well.
If you look at the neck you can see that they are same the distance from the other just like the remaining strings. I think the paint job on the bass's body makes you think that there is something wrong.
At 1:19 you get a good close-up look at the strings near the bridge. And unless my eyes are starting to fail me, I'd say it looks like they're all at equal distance. Like toxto said, I think it's only the body's paint job that makes some kind of illusion...
Nope. Tom Knight played on it, and absolutely KILLED IT. I've known Tom since mid 80's, we went to high school together, and by 17 he was already phenomenal, playing the YYZ solo (Exit Stage Left) note for note. In fact, Modern Drummer said he's the only drummer to "out-Weckl Weckl". Additionally, he played with TLC for about 10 years, Monica, Stevie Nicks, Deborah Killings, and Randy Hoexter to name a few. In order to spend more time with family, he cut back on the drumming, and started doing voice over work. His in house studio allows him to continue working, recording drums or voice, while staying home.
@@johangambleputty7658 Thanks for the info! Dave and Tom are listed for this album, though I'm not sure who plays on the individual tracks! EDIT: Dave is on the tracks Balance and Kingpin!
ua-cam.com/video/_EOwro7RdUw/v-deo.html This is the only version of Balance I've seen (or heard), and Tom is playing on it, but it appears to be a part of an instructional DVD that Tom was working on. I'd love to hear the version with Dave playing, just to contrast the two. Of course Dave was a big influence on Tom's drumming. Tom met Dave (both are Yamaha artists) and over time became friends. I believe there is also a video of Tom playing on Kingpin as well, and I'm about to go in search...
@gebass6 i realized that after i wrote the comment. it's logical that death metal borrowed tapping from fusion, with fusion being born before death metal. sorry for the confusion, but im not much into jazz even if i like it a lot.
GOOD!!! ACTUALLY A BASS PLAYER. Had me wondering with the intro... though impressive and cool if you can do it, the roots of a bass player is that off beat feel you had going throughout, as if your imagining the drum line as you play. SPOT ON
@sebajo82 Warrior basses are as good as any of them out there. In my personal opinion, when you get up to that level of bass, the only differences between them are really minor or cosmetic. I'd be thrilled to own a Ken Smith, Fodera, MTD, Warrior, Ritter, Roscoe, or any of the high end basses.
It's alright. Your second comment was the only one that truly pissed me off. Laughing at my simple question was quite childish of you, but then again, it's not the most immature thing I've seen here on youtube.
If you have made stupid comments regarding this video (and you know who you are), then you just don't have any reverence for great music and great musicians. Adam's playing is enough said!
Adam is my favorite bass player ever. I can't believe this man has been making music for nearly 30 years and is still extremely underground.
the intro to Skitzo has always blew me away, it was actually the main reason I purchased the Balance CD. So much groove!
I didn't know he was this good.
I made myself watch the whole vid, wow, he's great!
Amazing player ~ followed him since the early days since I heard this on an SWR compilation cd. Awesome!!!!
I love this workout, shows extreme versatility! Adam gets it done very tastefully!
Now this is awesome. Can't say I've heard a better tune all year!
See some bassists focus on slap or fingerstyle or chords but Nitti incorporates every aspect of those into his music and not only does he incorporate it, he incorporates it WELL!!
From one bass player, to another...You make me proud,to be a bass guitar player!!! Just awesome playing,AWESOME!!!
at first i thought this had no soul whats so ever. I kept watching and as i he went on............ he got SUPER FUNKY!!!!! lol I like it.
Who ever said the bass is a boring instrument is fucking stoops! I have nothing but respect for this supa playa!
This is incredible! great timing. This dude is damn good.
I never have enough of this tune. Masterful!

Nitti, é aquele jogador versátil que joga em todas as posições do campo!top
A top class player for sure, Adam nitti has it all!

My boy Adam is so sic!!! Never stop doin' it bro!

@bigbassalex this basses are on the level of fodera, ken smith, Tobías, MTD? are there more economic?
Wow this guy is great! For some reason some of those pops he's playing remind me of the music from SNES Paper boy!
Adam is a fucking monster!!!!! Thanks for posting this------I'm very inspired and I'm a drummer. Love his tone.
wow..what a flow man...awesome
Wow. Amazing!
amazing tone!
I hate when someone is just that damn good....OUTSTANDING...

damn good!
oh and why is his 3rd and 4th string so far apart?
I like how even the higher notes sound like they come from a bass instrument.
@bigbassalex how much does it cost?
this guy got a dvd ??
Nice! that what um taking about
awesome yeah
it's Tom knight, but they're practically the same person. Dave plays a song on the same cd tho.
I believe Dave Weckl played on his album! Dave is one of my favourites!
