Tom and Adam together are an absolutely unstoppable combination. It's easy for him to get overshadowed because Adam is just such a monster, but man, the way they feed off of each other on this record is so good. I don't know if it makes me want to practice a million times harder or just quit altogether lol
You are very kind, thank you so much! (Please do NOT quit :) I met Adam back in my very early 20s, which would've put him in his late teens, I believe, and he was already friggin scary-even back then. I had to work really hard to keep up with his amazing compositions, constantly worrying that I was overplaying (which I'm pretty sure I was, lol). But what you said about feeding off each other...that was never more true than in live scenarios where we were playing things unrehearsed. I was always amazed by how often he seemed to read my mind and would play the *exact* same right along with me... I still don't get it.
@@GetBigGigs Ayy it's the man himself. Thanks for taking the time to respond. But I totally get it. That mental connection you get with some guys where you're both in the same space and just digging in is one of the best feelings in the world. Who are you working with these days?
@@actualturtle2421 No one at the moment, lol - we moved earlier this year, and now that the buildout is done, I'm just getting the new studio up and running. Maybe I'll do remote tracking, or lessons, or-who knows?
HOLY SHIT!!! this guy is amazing.. MY EARS ARE JIZZING EVERYWHERE...I heard this and on wings like eagles and im proud to say this guy is my favorite drummer of all timeeeee...
i've been waiting for a video of Knight in his entirety....lol..........been watching the 43 seconds of the beginning of skitzo...and just freaked out because this was posted.......THANK YOU! merry Christmas!
@Devrim - thanks for writing! Yeah, that snare is a part of that Yamaha kit: maple custom 30th year anniversary series (although I'm told the color was a custom order from the original owner--Yamaha didn't mass produce that look). And yes, that is a 4x14...still my favorite snare!
@jareds1007 Thank you very much, Jared! Yeah, it'd be nice to see those kinds of numbers on the view count! But comments like yours are even better than high numbers! -Tom
Good grief, I suck at replying. (9 years?! So sorry, sir...) You are correct-that is the exact size and type of wood. It is part of their 30th anniversary maple custom series.
Tom is one of the most overlooked drummers out there. I come back to his Adam Nitti playthroughs often

@tjmach did you go to school with him? i went to high school with a few drummers and met one afterwards that played like this naturally.....
Hi Tom. It can be seen that your kit is Yamaha. But, could you please tell me, what the snare is that? 14"x4" Maple?
Thank you.
