u r awesome, used ur instructions to fit weaver rail + rings + scope on diana 52 .22 n its up to the mark, shot around 700 pellets and no slip at all...
What was left out is whether to use a low, medium, or high mount especially for removal magazines such as a Marauder Air Rifle and different size scopes. The video was through expect for what was stated above.
Then why was he wrong on the ring pins against the back of the hole, a rifle recoils backwards into your shoulder, the pins would stop against the front of the hole, NOT THE BACK...
I cut the ring off a single scope mount, then install it at the back end of the grooves. Then set the rear functioning scope mount against the cut-down mount. Periodically check the bolts for tightness, and apply locktite if they keep loosening. The scope sets a bit further forward than optimum, maybe a half inch, but it's there for every shot.
Hey Tom I heard you had a Diana Model 10 target pistol when you were younger, I bought one used a few years back and love it, but I recently made a set of left handed grips for it and upon replacing them a spring popped out of the metal grip area but it has rendered the gun inoperable ( the gun wont fire when loaded) any help with this would be appreciated thanks.
So these rings would work with a Crosman M4-117? Are there any recommendations you might have for this specific rifle? Such as what scope would be a good one, the size of the rings, and anything else that might be helpful. Thanks, and I love the video! I must let you know I've never done anything like this, so I'm a complete beginner with scopes.
This video is from 13, wondering the base issue with RWS Diana is still true, and do I still need to add another base on top. I just bought a Diana Magnum 360 and trying to understand what scope is best and how to install, any feedback would be great! My ballpark budget for the scope is $200.
I am looking at getting a Benjamin Trail NP XL .25 Brake Barrel Air Rifle for hunting small game, but might be used for something larger if ... I am told these Break-Barrel air guns are very bad on scopes, which one would you suggest for this one?
Its best if you put the gun in a gun rest and level the gun , then setup a plumb line on the wall and turn the scope till it lines up with the plumb line . Lightly tighten the screw just enough so it wont turn and check the plumb line again . Put a small level on the scope cap if it has a flat spot . notice where the bubble is ,Most scope caps are not level with the cross hairs because the threads in the cap keep it from being level and scope makers just don't place the cross hair glass to match the scope cap . Mark the center of the bubble with a marker . As you cross tighten the screws like he said keep the bubble in the center .This way when you get every thing tightened down you know if you have moved the scope from the plumb line or not . Check the plumb line again after your finished screwing down the scope . Making the scope cross hair level with the gun will make a big difference the farther you shoot . Don't just eyeball it like the guy in the video is doing ,you will have nothing but trouble at longer distances .
Why didn't you torque those fasteners? The x pattern is the best method, but torque is the best way to do the second stage tightening. You cannot overtighten with a torque tool.
Hi Tom, I have an older air rifle (break barrel) which has no mounting provisions at all. Can i grind two rails in it with a dremal tool or should i weld a 3/8 plate to the top. Any advise would be much appreciated. By the way - i got the gun for free and is not worth too much. thanks Rene
do know a nice basic scope for a Gamo silet cat air rifle. I do not wat to spend a lot i bought this gun used , and it is just used to target shoot. I just want it to hold zero
Tom is not insecure about his name or he could not make a video on UA-cam for fear of a bunch of ass clowns pulling his chain about his last name. Some people never leave middle school in their tiny little minds.
This is a great video but please, could somebody help me understand the method Tom uses when lining the cross hairs straight. He looks throug a scope with both eyes open and tells that ”when I see the vertical line bisectin the rifle, I know the scope is straight”. I have Hawke 8-32X56 Sidewinder and a regular shape and lenght Steyr Challenge Hunting rifle but I do not see the vertical or horizontal line anywhere near the barrel?? I do not see the rifle at all. I often shoot with scope both eyes open and never see any parts of the gun in my field of view no matter what I do. So obviously that technic does not work with all of the scopes but the scope itself has to have certain physical dimensions and not too high magnification I suppose. I tried with minimum magnification by 8 x and it did not work. I would be gratefull if someone could explain better in detail this otherwise handy looking method. Juhani, Finland
Thankyou GodFather... I liked how you kept it Simple and didnt over complicate things... GodFather I come to ask a Favor of you... Can you Guide me on how to start a field target airgun club... Please GodFather. Can you do me this favor? Lol ;)
TY for a informative clip! Keep up the good work! Gaylord is a cool name - he will rule the world now that all these social "justice warriors" are running wild.
Tom is a pleasure to listen too. He has a great calm voice. Could listen to him all day and what great information this video was. Thanks.
This will never get old. Fitted my first scope on a springer today. Amazing guide! Thank you Sir!
Hey, this is BB Pelletier - who's written loads of great stuff on air guns. Huge thanks Tom!
But he got the scope ring pins wrong, the rifle recoil backwards into your shoulder, so the pin will contact the front of the hole NOT the back.
@@michaelbritain5546 springers recoil both ways
I’m so happy I watched this right before I put on my first scope
Good video Tom, thanks. That''s the best way to tighten almost anything.
u r awesome, used ur instructions to fit weaver rail + rings + scope on diana 52 .22 n its up to the mark, shot around 700 pellets and no slip at all...
On a springer rifle I fined that you have to lock the rings down tight to keep from loosening.
What was left out is whether to use a low, medium, or high mount especially for removal magazines such as a Marauder Air Rifle and different size scopes. The video was through expect for what was stated above.
Best teacher on this subject matter. Thank you very much for a job excellently well done, Sir.

Good concise video 👍👍
Great video, big thumbs up.
very educational indeed ,thank you
Lovely seeing this old video. :)
Hy which is best scope for gamo shadow 1000, and which type of mount I should use?
Superb video thank you.
Mr. Gaylord, what type of rings or mounts suitable for marlin #95 mn bolt action .22wmr, tapped receiver on a 30 mm rifle scope?
So these rings would work with a Crosman M4-117? Are there any recommendations you might have for this specific rifle? Hi, does someone how is older BSA deerhunter 4x32 scope airgun rated to put on a springer rifle?

Ben going crazy on what I need to mount a scope on benjamin bulldog. Is it 11 millimeter?

*SUP GAYLORD!!*
so for the 2 piece rings with 2 screws each the order of tightening them is not important? :) tnx

My air rifle has those grooves but no plate. Is there a way to purchase this plate? It did not come with one...
Is there a reason that you did not tighten the base screws of the Scope mounts? Did I miss something?
Thank you!

Informative and concise. Thank you.

I really love videos made by experts, there is always something to learn.
Nothing expert about this guy, even gets the recoil pins going the wrong way.
Does the spacing of the rings matter ?
I spent an hour and a half today trying to put my scope on , this was helpful xD cuz I got it on and it wasn't shooting any were near where I shot
Tom Gaylord... I love you.
Thanks Mr.Gaylord

Whoa. Wait, did he really just say “Gaylord”?!!!
Front of the holes, the rifle recoils into your shoulder, not away from it...
Mounting that other mail doesn't it make the scope hard to get a cheek weld
ever heard of barrel droop?

Very Helpful!!! Easy as 123, Step by Step, "How to mount a Airgun Scope for Dummies".........
😎👍
A friend of mine says he has a friend who can fill my air tank with nitrogen. Can I use nitrogen gas in my PCP
everything was ok but the scope was not level because you did not put a level bottle to make the scope 100% level. next time please do that ok? thanks
I like how nobody in the comments seems to give a shit about the actual video because the guy's last name is Gaylord
