Realistically, I just see Ki-Adi-Mundi in the acolyte is a completely different character but just the same species. It’s the easier way to look at it right now.
Dave Filoni has been ruining Star Wars from the very beginning. He made the story of TCW ignoring it already is The Clone Wars story arc on games, novels, comics, and micro-series. He made many rectons and inconsistencies in TCW. Having Anakin knighted way early months after Geonosis, when in actuality was a knight in the final 6 months of the clone Wars.
Creating life from the force while very taboo and rare doesnt have to be created by Plagus it could just be a rare ability like forve healing besides Anakin's lehacy was burned down by the Rise of Skywalker anyway.
Theory: Plagues studied witch magic and improved on the magic. (which they used the force to create life rather then Anakin which was created by the force). To hide it he had his Apprentice set up the death of said witches (explains how Mae didn't burn down the stone building). He found out how to live forever with force diads and Palps learned. Palps actually used this in the rise of Skywalker to heal himself

I want to point out that Dave had mishandled the nightsisters. Originally There was some contention when the nightsisters were introduced in that what exactly is the limit to night sister magic and what it can do, but this entirely was resolved and wouldn’t be a problem as lucas tied up all loose ends, firstly all the night sisters were killed off during the invasion by general grievous, secondly savage and maul were the only people who were keeping in touch with mother talzin and of course savage would later die by Sidious. Then there’s the Frangawl Cult that tried to bring back mother talzin, jar jar and mace Windu had killed the cult leader and defeated the cult thus preventing mother talzin from coming back and losing their connection with her. Then in son of dathomir maul tries to bring her back with the shadow collective and night-brothers help. Maul had lost a significant amount of his forces and bases, and would lose the pikes and black sun support (something also never fully explained by Dave on how Maul still controlled the pikes and black sun). The final act happens on dathomir with the death of mother talzin, brother viscus, and all the nightbrothers. And of course you have Ventress (who also never got her story “dark disciple” told in animation and also survived”) who was trying teach quin Lin vos some night sister magic but eventually she would die by dooku. George was never going to use night sister magic again and it was all tied up, and the only people who knew about it to some capacity was Maul and Quin lin vos. Even if you have ventress alive it’s not like the three of them have significant knowledge about its use and are going to teach other people. But everything was undone due to the Jedi fallen order game, the Ashoka series, and tales of the empire.

I don't know much about the star wars timeline outside of the main saga and a few key events, but 100 years before the rise of the empire seems far too recent, there will be normal humans who lived through the events of the acolyte who could still be alive in the prequels, let alone long lived alien races. If you really want to tell a story about a Sith, why choose a period where they Sith were explicitly said to have bot been seen?, if they say a Sith hasn't been seen in 1000 years then just go back that far and tell a story about a Sith that turns out to be a one of the survivors/holdouts of the Sith-Jedi war (before Bane is the very last) who wants revenge, or even a rogue apprentice of Darth Bane, after which he forms his "corrupt the Jedi" plan.
Personally I never saw “canon” as a truly viable thing to begin with. It was just a way of Disney saying that they’re going to do their own thing to not get the old legends and their new content confusing so really it’s not even worth it anymore. It’s been stated that live-action and animation, whether it’s movies or tv shows, takes more priority over the comics and novels unfortunately.
If everyone dies in the Acolyte, there will be no one to tell the Council the Sith were around, therefore the Jedi will be blissfully ignorant of the fact. Just a theory.

Brother, honestly, it's HARD to remain neutral about The Acolyte's crimes. However, I don't know just HOW MUCH Filoni is involved in this series: Notice how his name is not included in the credits, AT ALL; while Pablo Hidalgo's is? Notice how this show was greenlit by Kennedy, officially, in late 2020, BUT, according to Lesley Headland, she was already at work on this story in 2018/2019? Keep in mind, too, The High Republic Multimedia Initiative was officially started in 2018, at Skywalker Ranch, with The Project Luminous Writers Summit. Pablo Hidalgo was very much the overseer of it (as presented in the now-infamous trailer)...even revealing (a year or two ago) that Kennedy brought the idea of a multimedia SW story campaign to his attention as early as 2014, when the company had just made the decision to label The EU as Legends, ending that line of outside storytelling for good. The High Republic features purchased copyrights for storytelling in print, Animation, video gaming, and live-action. When ALL of that planning occurred, Dave Filoni had NO HAND in ANY of it. He even admitted as much, years ago, stating that it was something he was not a part of, and only knew about its creation on a casual, peripheral level. Young Jedi Adventures is an Animated project that has NO INFLUENCE from Filoni (which is unusual, given his prominence in Lucasfilm Ltd. Animation, since 2005) or his team of writers. Phases One, Two, and Three of The High Republic books and comics bear no connections or authorship to Filoni. Up to now, the upcoming Star Wars: Eclipse video game's creators have made no mention of Filoni's involvement in its High Republic Era story campaign. Throughout the lengthy gestation of The Acolyte, We NEVER saw Dave Filoni connected to the project. Not in press, not in SW Celebration panels and interviews, and not in updates over the last 4 years (2020 to 2023). Meanwhile, We've seen Dave make consistent appearances at the panels for SW: Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book Of Boba Fett, The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Skeleton Crew, Tales Of The Jedi, and Ahsoka. Now, SUDDENLY, Dave Filoni is the overseer of this project, while it's in the throes of the worst audience reception in 11 years of Disney SW content? I don't buy it. Even the writers on this project recently revealed (before their tweets had to be deleted) that he had nothing to do with the script writing of the series, and only offered notes on the material...LONG AFTER IT HAD ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN. This may explain why Filoni was elevated to CCO about 2 years ago, and his statement that he's now able to have a say in how projects get started in THE EARLY STAGES, as opposed to later in the process, when things have already been set in motion. Honestly, Man, this story, these characters, and these witches DO NOT give off the essence of Dave Filoni's or George Lucas' influence of SW storytelling. Now, maybe he did show up on set, and he did give counsel to Headland...BUT, exactly WHEN? The rumors state that one of the reasons for the high budget of this show, is due to reshoots. Some claimed that the series was almost "un-releasable", and that it went through 3 different cuts, before the company found a version that could be presented to the public. Meanwhile, has anything like that ever happened with projects headed by Filoni and/or Favreau, since 2019? Now, regarding retcons, I agree that some (serious) consistency within all different forms of SW content needs to become a priority. However, I'll say this much: Regarding the Ahsoka novel...that was written at a time when there was no foreseeable future depictions of Ahsoka Tano on the horizon (due to the cancellation of The Clone Wars); and the writer certainly took liberties with her storytelling, injecting extraneous and lesbian elements in to the story, which was never something Filoni's been interested in; which explains why Ahsoka's experience in TOTJ is different from that of the book from years earlier. Regarding Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume, those comics were written before The Bad Batch, and, to me, it still seems weird that other writers are interpreting the life histories of characters created by another, in Dave Filoni. Unfortunately, unlike the time period of George Lucas' shepherding of the franchise, Disney Lucasfilm Ltd., by 2013/2014, had already very much (intentionally) become a compartmentalized thing...creating divisions of creative departments that didn't have much interaction with each other. Which is why I strongly suspect that the writers of JEDI: Survivor probably didn't have a lot of writing discussions with The Project Luminous Writers, with regard to the introduction of the character of Dagan Gera and the planet, Tanalorr. As a reader of THR, I'm going to be very disappointed, if both of those interesting new aspects of that era are NOT further examined in the books and comics of Phase Three. But, I wouldn't be all that surprised, if his story gets no mention, since it represents a different group of writers within a different media, under a different deadline. BTW, actually Ki Ai Mundi's origins were retconned for The Acolyte. In 2002, there were official character cards issued, that stated his birth, his Master (Yoda), and his time in The Jedi Order. That material wouldn't have been released, without the sanction of Mr. Lucas Himself. It was a completely unnecessary change. Now that it has been revealed (again, by the writers on X) that it was originally supposed to be Master Yoda in that scene in the Disney + series, and that his appearance was nixed for multiple reasons (most likely), Master Mundi's appearance seems even more random and spur-of-the-moment; portraying a lack of authentic vision for this series. Brother, when the PR for Skeleton Crew begins, the overall experience is going to be NIGHT AND DAY. Watts, Ford, Favreau, and Filoni will be exuding an entirely different aura and command of Star Wars storytelling and producing. Our collective perspective on all of this would be different, had Skeleton Crew released in Fall 2023, like it was supposed to. Sadly, The Acolyte represents THE STORM before THE CALM. We just have to hang in there. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU...
If I'm correct in episode 1 ki adi mundi says the sith havent been around for either a 100 or 1000 years yet in the acolyte he's part of a team looking into a Supposed sith.
@@joshuabloomfield63they’ve not called them a Sith yet iirc? There’s still episodes left to see how it plays out. If it turns out he knew, it’s shit. But let’s give it chance to run
@@joshuabloomfield63 ... at this point in 'The Acolyte', the term... Sith... has not been used. People are making the assumption that this individual is a Sith, when that has not been confirmed in the narrative. Basically, people are getting themselves worked-up over something that, for right now... is a non-issue.
Dave has been to blame for a while now. The clone wars was good (during some parts) but let’s be real everyone: there are lots of part of the clone wars that are skippable because they are boring or childish. Same thing with rebels, and Ahsoka, and BoBF, and Kenobi, and etc etc. Just think for a second how weird it is that the only two things that have been produced by Disney that received only love and acclaim for have been made by entirely different teams? Andor and Rouge One weren’t touched by Filoni. A bit weird isn’t it?
All I hear is a lot of guessing. Sith? Funny I didn't hear that mentioned once in the show. Maybe I am wrong but red blades do not automatically a sith make. I have a easy excuse to explain your retcon issue. it's called different viewpoints. Ask yourself "Who is telling the story?" and not who wrote the episode. If I tell the story of my childhood I can say with 100% certainly that it would differ from the story my mom would tell if she told my childhood story. Detail may differ, entire scenes might be missing. As for the "force child" issue that is the easiest to explain. For as long as there has been force users there have been those who couldn't use it. What does history tell you about that? Now onto the opinion of the actual series from my point of view. It's filler. They had nothing else to fill the empty space between other series. It feels like they said "You know that Moped chase scene in Boba, lets make a entire series with that energy and class, and fill it with cliche overdone plots" Twins in Star Wars? so original..zzZZZzzzZZz
Well, a red blade and the dark side was enough for Qui-gon to identify a Sith, why would that not be a suspicion here too? Also, different viewpoints is a bad explanation for inconsistencies and retcons, it may have been viable way back when people were just telling stories from memory in a tavern or around a campfire, similar to your example, but if you don't remember all the details, and there are books, movies and TV shows that literally have those details in them then there is no excuse to contradict them, the characters aren't telling their version of the story, the storyteller is showing us what happened, if they really want to use a certain idea they can easily use it somewhere that doesn't cause a contradiction.
@@RyderDunei I see your point but the story teller of Andor is not the story teller of Rebels or Bad Batch. Each show has it's own style, hence they tell the story in different ways. Better example. Rebels are described as both hero's and terrorists depending on who you are listening to. In both cases they can have facts attributed to them that never happened but are still claimed. Or take the Mando helmet thing. All I am saying is it doesn't have to be a last minute retcon, it could simply be we never had all the info, or maybe we were purposefully misled to believe on thing to build suspense for a revelation.
@@havocdogg true, my thought was just that i don't see much reason why different mediums or storytellers have to change or contradict established events, and yeah, you're right, while reinterpretation and re-contextualising CAN add a lot of depth to a story, that requires far more effort than is being put in here.
The script for the acolyte was finished way before Filoni got made into cco so while yeah he could have made suggestions for the series it is much more likely that Lucasfilm is just trying to do some damage control by hiding behind him the same way they did with Reva in Kenobi

Can someone explain how The Acolyte broke canon? Because from what I can tell, it hasn’t.
You would be correct.
Dave has been to blame for a while
now.
Starwars died after ep3, no one cares about post disney shows, they are nothing more than fan fiction 😂
I never liked the virgin birth of Anakin aka Space Jesus…
It’s ok, you can only be neutral for so long before you have to speak out about what you are thinking
Y'all are just mad bc star wars is for kids and the franchise isn't growing up with you. Freddy Prinze jr
The script for the acolyte was finished way before Filoni got made into cco so while yeah he could have made suggestions for the series it is much more likely that Lucasfilm is just trying to do some damage control by hiding behind him the same way they did with Reva in Kenobi
Disney does need to focus up on keeping their comics and books canon, but this Acolyte stuff ain't that. The twins are just mystical force IVF, anakin is still a completely miraculous conception. nothing is ruined by including the witches and i really don't get this hate
as for ki adi mundi, you're 100% right he IS an arrogant idiot, he's the guy who said palpatine was a cool nice guy, so again idk why this is a surprise to anyone
Yea i dont Like what happend to Star wars and other movies
Be careful , u might be label as a toxic hater
😂😂🤣
Or none of this completely adds up as he goes from TBB, Rebels and etc to this?
I have a feeling Dave did not read the acolyte scripts in depth, they are so sloppy and filled with logic gaps
Logic gaps where its star war logic is already out the door.
I hated when George Lucas reconned Luke and Leia's relationship
Oh man I told fans Filoni was terrible 😢 always did.
Ironically I like the acolyte though.
I always commented on videos that Mundi is dumb, literally.
Star force one again be patient the series will give us everything because we are beginning to know everything about the Jedi how they were in the higher Republic OK so please people don’t lose. Hope be patient OK I’ve seen it and it’s OK for me and others
Yea but the bulk of his criticism in the video is Dave making changes to establish canon
