The threads that are refusing to slide are between the valve body (male) and knob (female). Might try positioning the valve knob facing down with the knob backed fully out and flooding the threaded area with nylog or refrigerant oil then work that in. Most likely, the threads are poor quality.

the master cool fittings.....as crazy as it sounds....are made in the aether.....called " Chi-na " it is not made in a factory..... call me crazy ....but that is the reality we witness with our own eyes......... Jay fox
As someone whos worked in US factories, the quality is definitely deteriorating, and even though the products are made cheaply, we're still being charged US prices. I've started buying off aliexpress because chinese hardware is on par with US made stuff these days, and its sad.

Well Poop... I almost bought this same set as I am frustrated with yet a another cheap set that tends to leak under vacuum. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on these after all. 🙄

I'm using Parkers fittings which I've had a good few years. Not sure if they're available over in the States though.

ATD has the same Brass set that Mastercool has. I bought a set last week and they are great.
