Excellent presentation. I’m limited to a PA 12 360 with a Motorguide xi3. I don’t recall seeing where food and beverages for the day other than the water bottle are stored. Beautiful setup.
I bought this kayak as a military retirement gift to myself. I love it, but honestly it didn't financially leave me room for upgrades. I recommend checking out the hammerhead whale shark kayak. You can get it at a third of the price with all the same luxuries. (minus the Ike approved) 😅
It is hilarious how close we have our kayaks set up… except I use things like milk crates, a paddle, and a hand-line anchor with a basic $45 “sonar”. Great video showcasing that Cadillac! Definitely gave me some ideas for more attachments for mine! I think I might reconfigure the electric scooter my neighbor gave me into a trolling motor.
Nice setup Ike, I would have liked to have seen how you have you Forward Facing Sonar setup. I imagine you have the transducer mounted on the rod so you can adjust it.
Awesome boat. I am getting one soon . A pelican catch mode 110 I'm gonna get a hummingbird and a 40-lb t trolling motor . Should be good for a ole poor boy 1981born in Baltimore. Lol 😆 🤣 😂 In fl and va these days , so we have great fishing 🎣 Omg, that battery was lite.
Iv got a PA 14 and an Outback. It’s only my opinion. Unless I’m fishing comps the Outback is my go to. There is a reason he’s running an electric motor just as I have too. Soooo bloody heavy. The bigger your rig the more shit you stack on it. With me sitting in my PA and fully loaded it’s near on 400 lb. The Outback I put on my roof and for me is just a better kayak in the water. Food for thought 👍
People say, "Oh , mite as well, buy a boat .... No, a motor for a boat isn't cheap! Just for the cost of a plan boat , no motor , noting. You can have the best kayak on the water . Kayak is the future. Just in fuel money for a boat , you can build an amazing kayak.
Yes would like a closer look at how the hull is supported. I've just ordered a jet ski trailer and setting it up for permanent Yak storage is a very soon project. 🎣
What is the cost of your kayak excluding fishing poles and fishing tackle because I do not see myself as a working man or retired person on a fixed income to afford a kayak like that I never see a kayak like this when I am fishing
Go up to Lake Erie and check out some of the Hobies being used for fishing, trolling for Walleye. Some of these kayakers have side-band radios and multiple fishfinder units and transducers, as well as trolling motors with multiple batteries; Mike, thanks for the review of your kayak solution.
Far more than 5-8 k. I have very similar yet up w/less electronics and I’m sitting at over 10 k. Then I purchase a trailer W/bigger wheels and had a custom rack built for it. You need to review the price of the stripped down PS140 360. If Ike had to pay for his set up, It would be $15 K or more, easily. The Big Hobie is so well built compared to other yaks, very little comparison. When you start putting elec. motor and pike on the back many yaks are not made to support the stress. And certainly not over any period of time. Get your pocket book out. Over the long run it’s $$$ well spent.
The kayak alone with nothing else is $5800, so add a few hundred batteries, a few thousand more in electronics, a couple thousand more for trolling motor, plus $600 more power pole, ya easily over $10k
The lure of kayak fishing used to be simplicity, that goes out the window with a rig like this. I’m not hating I’m just not understanding why one would get a monster kayak that has to be trailered, and then customizing it to the point of a tournament ready bass boat. Your in the price range of dressed out John boats/ used aluminum bass boats and also aren’t able to get to places that regular boats can’t get to once you go that big with a kayak.
The point of kayak fishing for me is doing tournaments without spending 40-90k. I have no interest in having a small jon boat as I can’t do any tournaments with that. I can however do tournaments on the Great Lakes with a kayak but a little 10 foot sit inside isn’t exactly the best item for that use
What you’re describing is a definitely a part of kayak fishing. You can definitely buy a jon boat or even a used boat what tournament kayaks cost. However, you can’t fish kayak tournaments out of a jon boat
@@devinwillis7787 I bought a nice aluminum bass boat used for a little more than what the kayak alone in the vid will run you. A couple of decent graphs and your fishing. You can def fish tournaments for less than 40-90k. You just have to decide if you want to fish them in a 12k+ kayak or a regular boat. It’s all in what you want to spend your money on I guess.
@@jesseo355 I mean we fish the Great Lakes so if I don’t have an 18 foot boat and at least 150hp I’m going to be at a huge disadvantage. The kayak tournaments also pay better than a lot of the local boat tournaments lol. My local bass club pays a few hundred to win and the first kayak tournament was 1400 this year
I like following Ike but let's be real, this is a boat, not a kayak. I would love to see the tournaments put some limits on the equipment: 10 ft only, no motors, no live scope. Something to be said about fishing "old school" and using your skills to boat fish.
I went to a kingfish tournament in Jacksonville in 1996 and saw my friend win agains over 1000 boats from 17 to 60 feet long. Some even used helicopters to spot pods of fish. The guy in the 17’ Jon boat trolled outside the Jetties and caught a huge King over 40 lbs to win. Size in fishing does not matter. Knowing how to fish matters. Knowing where to fish is important too.
Two graphs and livescope on a tournament setup is pretty common. The video isn’t for a casual/hobby person, the intended audience is people that want to do kayak tournaments

@Mike Iaconelli you definitely need to bring that to western NY, on the west end of the Finger Lakes and meet me there. YOU'LL LOVE IT !!
I got the IKE edition as well!

Hi Mike. I like the leashes you use. Where can I get them?
Where is the livewell to bring the fish in to the weigh in ?
Kayak tournaments are catch photo release with verified measuring boards! You measure your best 5! Super fun tournaments!
Gotta get to the ramp two hours before lines in to set up that whole shebang 😂
Just getting into the Kayak tourney scene, What do you do for Phone management if you use the inflatable PFD?
Interesting Mike, I learned a lot from you !!!
