This is nuts. I overcooked that same corner where they went off the road. Unfortunately for me there was a truck coming up and I skidded into the driver's door. Luckily I wasn't going nearly as fast as these dudes!
@@danoicarian5538 All it takes is one car pulling out of a driveway and these guys will have probably die. Look at 3:10, there is no way they could stop for a car at 43mph.

Exactly why these Internet / UA-cam heroes should stop riding like maniacs on public roads. Others might think it's to do so and end up on somebody's windscreen.
They aren’t riding like maniacs & they aren’t trying to be “UA-cam heroes.” Do you go jump off buildings and mountains because freebase jumpers shoot videos, too?
Yes they are riding like maniacs. No sane road cyclist who is not racing on a closed (and clean) road should be descending like that, cornering at those speeds, unless they wish to end up in a wheelchair. Just imagine what would happen if there was a bit of sand, gravel or oil on the road surface in the apex of a corner they took at 50-60 km/h. Or, more easily, imagine what would happen if the car at 06:30 was indeed on the road at 05:17. You are supposed to ride safely on a public, open road, not endangering yourself, nor other people. You are not supposed to ride in a manner that ends up throwing you out of your lane and face the traffic coming from the other way. Funny as your parallel is, it is also flawed. I didn't say people who don't ride road bikes would ride like this once they saw these idiots riding like maniacs, I most obviously had in mind people who already ride road bikes. And it would be as if base jumpers jumped off buildings or cliffs that expose them to unnecessarily high dangers. As Niki Lauda said in the movie "Rush": _I accept that every time I get into my car, there's 20% chance I could die and I could live with it, but not one percent more! And today with the rain, the risk is more._

I just rode this today, first time cycling Malibu. On the way down I thought to myself, safa must have a video of this! Ended up being able to find your video, it's such a fun descent! I overshot the same exact turn you guys did, it tightens up really quick. This has got to be one of my most favorite roads I've ridden
Firstly thank You for this video. Mr. James should use the apex well, he didn't use good apex line, this is dangerous on high speed cornering. God bless You and Mr James.
JarekMa2 - You are right disc brakes will not make you a better bike rider. The ability to judge the maximum speed entering a curve is not dependent on what type of brakes you have.
I'm guessing the rims are flexing from the cornering forces and causing the rotors to move around a bit? Still seems like the right setup for that, aero bike with wider tire, his cornering speeds were impressive.
Rapha had a gran fondo here a few years back and the route came down Las Flores. I thought it was nuts to include that descent with a mixed bag of cyclists. Sure enough, a rider died when he overshot one of the hairpins and hit the barrier on the other side.
Is it a stupid request to ask for a power reading? It would be amazing to see how much effort they are putting after exiting a corner. Gran trabajo como siempre 👏
Very technical decent, but if you go through a blind corner and into the dirt it is a fail. When you can see through a corner or twisty, use the room if you’ve got it.

Rim Brake fans are lovin this.
I STILL see no need for disc. and all the great riders that I ride with have older generation rim brakes with new carbon wheels.
disc is still the way to go, glad rim brakes are slowly being pushed out

It's an evil corner. You can't judge it by eye going in because it tightens up and drops down so much in the second half. Glad you're ok.
I was really close to do the same thing for some reason i was able to steer at the last second i just let go of the brakes

The modulation gave them a controlled stop instead of locking out, losing control, and ultimately crashing
I think the rider did that ;)

Disc brakes better in every way ✌️
Not in that condition, he panics too when the corner was too tight then he chose to enter.
