"This is the part of the track were I realized that Webber had big balls, I mean, really big"
-Fernando Alonso
Its just respect between two drivers. Alonso knows well enough that Mark had the speed and the line so he did the right thing and backed off. Also, Webber and Alonso are friends in real life. They've known each other since their F3000 days.
I think Mark said that if it were not Alonso he wouldn't have even tried that overtake, but he had the full confidence in Alonso to not do anything dumb or weird.
But Bellof had bigger.
@@aydankhaliq2967 He did but he shouldn't have turned into Ickx
in games and simulations its already freakin awesome, cant imagine how cool this is on the actual track
+buluhulululu It's bloody terrifying probably.
This ^
Caro4060 Scary with a roadcar, really scary. The car always tries to kill you in that corner and you have to fight it.
this documentation si wrong

Caro4060 that's radillon actually
2:49 that shot is amazing you can actually see the airflow from the diffuser and it looks epic! Something you might never see otherwise
Came here looking for Raidillon comments, not disappointed
Me too

well, he mention it at 1:11 though. dont know what you guys talking about. the title of the video ? come one.
@@BlackEasterEgg you must’ve been trolling you copy and pasted that comment a couple times
Spa is the moment I look forward to the most in the calendar. Monaco is great but it's the party atmosphere and prestige of the municipality that in a way shifts the limelight from the racing. Spa is just every driver doing their best around the most iconic track in my opinion. There isn't just one corner that's well known. Every corner is well known.
HypnoticCrab i wish moto gp would go to this track. as well as dubai
HypnoticCrab Monaco is shit racing. The streets are so narrow that unless the guy ahead of you crashes, there is no way to get past.
as the guy above said, monaco is overrated as fuck just because of the place and the environment, Spa is way more exciting than that shitty road cycling circuit.
Tom Including Ickx, I guess?
@@djefr Monaco is about the city. The race is over at the end of qualifying because the race itself is just trying to survive 72 laps due to the fact that you can't pass and there is no margin if someone else gets frisky. Monza has been sanitized with chicanes. Imola was a better circuit.
In my opinion, the best driver of the decade.Never had a dominant car.Seasons like 2012 were amazing to see, and was probably the most skilled driving I have ever seen from a driver after Senna.Avanti Fer
+10
+Pipo Vi Never had a dominant car? Bullshit.
Does 2005 say anything to you? Or are you just another hipster who has been watching F1 since 2009 because *HURR DURR VETTEL AND RED BULL*?
The Ferrari of 2012 was a competitive car. Since Spain.
Matthew Panini Man I have been watching F1 since 2001.In 2005 the mclaren was the best car.The R25 was the 2nd.You can compare the number of pole positions, wins, fastest laps and average position on the grid. The only reason Mclaren didnt won that championship was because its reliability and mistakes by Montoya.
Think before talk, buddy.
Harry Jean Charles The F2012 was the 3rd or 4th best car that year.RB, Mclaren and Lotus were more competitive.Just watch the numbers of Massa.Alo lost that championship in Spa and Suzuka, crashes in the first lap that werent his fault.
Bwoah that’s Raidillon actually

everyone who got on the dragstrip in Hockenheim crashed... except you because you're the Iceman
Best comment in UA-cam history, man I’m laughing
Eau Rouge: A corner Tilke wished he designed.
LOL. The only best thing he can do is Multi-Apex Turns at Istanbul Park Circuit. Most of his circuit design was BORING
i think sepang is a good Tilke track though
And COTA is good too.
Dean Winchester COTA is shit, at least for motogp. don't watch too much f1 but for motogp i think it's one of the shittest tracks on the calendar, together with brno.
I really like Sepand, Bahrain and Shanghai
That's Raidillon actually
Was gonna say it too
Ah I see you're a man of culture as well
😂😂😂
Here too😂😂
XD
I'm a Hamilton fan, but I have huge respect for Fernando. He's one of the true gentlemen of the sport, a great ambassador, and he's so quick. One of the all time greats.
Today eau rouge has taken 1 more pilot life. Sad to know about that accident.
RIP Anthoine((
it was Raidillon actually
@@_sSs_Andreii dead meme
@@_sSs_Andreii shut the fuck up. a driver lost their life.
I hope a deadly crash like this won't happen again but i don't want this corner to be changed so much that it's unrecognizable
Spa is just wonderful . This track should be forever on the calendar , no matter what.
The best sequence ever at Eau Rouge was in 2011 or 2012, Alonso and Webber side by side, inches apart and flat out! I am still holding my breathe! Greatest moment in F1 History! The balls and mastery of these 2 was out of this world! Wow!
yes agree ! but corner is Raidillon since 1939, not eau rouge anymore
Best driver, best racetrack, best corner. What else do you need? :) Fantastic! Love it!
Im going to sit there this weekend, im soooo excited, it will be my first f1 weekend ever😍😍
Oh no
Eau Rouge is only left hander, right hander is called Raidillon (historically), many people dont know that... but today its only eau rouge for people :)
what about the left at the very top of the hill
The left and right hander is Eau Rouge and the right on the top of the hill is Raidillon, so they call this complex " Raidillon of Eau Rouge". Im not sure. ^^'
I mean the left hander on the top of the hill ^^*
Harry Jean Charles Properly speaking, the Eau Rouge corner is only the left-hander at the bottom. The following right-hander that leads steeply uphill, which was introduced in 1939 to shortcut the original hairpin "Ancienne Douane", is called "Raidillon" :) (this is the history) these days Its only Eau Rouge, and yeah a final left-hander is Raidillon for many people :)
i know, i was there during 2010 race ;)
2:13 "There is only one line to go in to the corner"

This guy is a true legend!!!
2:36 look at the Rear wings. You will see Air Flow
Goosebumps… must be an amazing feeling flying through there!! Great guy Fernando isn’t he?!!
eau rouge & the Laguna Seca corckscrew, the 2 most amazing corners in the world
Paddock Hill Bend at Brands Hatch (before it was neutered) was one of the most challenging corners on earth. See footage from 60s and 70s. In its original form it had a sharpening right hand braking curve, then went steeply downhill with a blind apex and OPPOSITE camber on the right. As you exited, the curve got sharper so you had to delay exit throttle (especially if you missed the blind apex). The exit had a tiny run off area, failing which you would collide with a heavy grass bank. In the 60s and 70s I saw everything from multiple pile ups to Jim Clark powering F1, F2 and a Lotus Cortina through this challenging corner with total virtuosity, visibly faster than everyone else and never once missing the hidden apex. Poetry in motion.
@@fingerhorn4 I still love the Brands Hatch, the downhill and the following right handers are awesome.
Best corner in any motorsports just amazing and described by a great legend
FERNANDO
that corner is easy, hold my beer!!
2:48 Look at the airflow from the rear wings....*AMAZING!* 😮
Air exiting Diffuser 😍
Eau Rouge and Raidillon basically make up this circuit entirely because these corners go up the most famous and most beautiful hill not just in Motorsport or racing, but ever. Undoubtably my favorite race track. Great sweeping turns. To sum it up in one word. ‘Brilliant’
1:13 Alonso was ahead of his time.
Who can forget you and Mark ? A master class !
Alonso and Eau Rouge , a better love story than twilight
Alexandru Parausanu literally
*_That's Raidillon actually_*
Historic & Beautiful.
I'd totally forgotten about THAT overtake by Mark Webber. Ballsy.
alonso still my hero!!!!#!
History of motorsport. Love Laguna Seca one but due to the high speed... definitely this is the sickest one
The Corkscrew is also a mythical curve. But a completly different challenge. One of my favorite.
forza fernando, forza mclaren!
forza motorsport, forza horizon!
1:48 the reverse angle view is awesome
2:15 the Mark Webber overtake
Watching that replay of Mark and Freddie ALWAYS makes my hairs stand on end. YAAAAAAAAAA sheesh that's nutty
What an incredible video! Well done, guys!
C'mon, we love to see you get 1 more world title. You're one of f1 finest drivers . I still remember you drove the ferrari in places it shouldnt even be.. In front of its own Q time. Y the BEST @!!!! 1 more title Forza Fernando!!!
No one gets more out of an noncompetitive car than Fernando.
Steward 1 indeed ;)
AVAITI FER; AVANTI!
This is my favorite corner of the entire szn
I like the last words
Incredible how the gap looks from the rear wing camera in second 1:52
2:35 you see the vortices coming from rear wing ;)
Did you see that vapor trails at 2:38 that's awesome. I saw them first time in the 80s & early 90s F1 cars. Exceptional camera work.
2:05..my personal fav F1 overtake for some reason
Nice Corner.. Eau Rouge..
Setiawan Tiadatara That's Raidillion actually
The elevation which makes it exciting
A racing game legend here. Spa will never let racing down.
My favorite circuit on F1 game
It’s with no doubt that Eau rouge is one of the most beautiful corners in F1
No hay dos sin tres. Vamos Alonso!!! The best driver in the present
This is the most difficult passage of Spa for me. If I mess up on this track, it's at this point. I can't recall any other track in F1 games that has a corner that had me repeat it as often as this one.
Very beautiful video. Good job Formula 1!
the combination of this three corners is called: Raidillon de l’Eau Rouge so shortened its okay to call this eau rouge if you mean all three corners (left, right, left)
We often forget how low they sit in F1 cars and how much different their line of sight and view is. @2:47 it gives you an idea how little they see and it's mostly sky as Alonso tells in the video. The best drivers in the last 5-6 years. Too bad he lost 5 years fighting in an inferior Ferrari and now one year in a lousy Mclaren/Honda. In a competitive car (not even the best) he would already have had 3-4 more championships.
He had competitive cars. So did McLaren. The problem is Red bull were just that much better. You can't say he would definitively win anything during 2010 to 2013.
***** ? Which one, you put "car" as if he drove one car for 5 years. You also missed the part where I pointed out that red bull dominated from 2010 to 2013 and McLaren were competitive still.
Jraybay he wasn't in mclaren then.... not sure what planet you're on
Fernando ♡
Imagine To Watch And Hear Live The Hakkinen & Schumacher Back In 2000 .... A Dream Come True !
One of the best corner of F-1!
ace video, info, fernando explanation and all, thanks
Spa francorchumps e um dos palcos da F1 mais lindos do mundo pra mim o mais lindo e essa curva é uma verdadeira montanha russa mergulho em alta redução leva na eau rouge e aceleração total na subida ... é de tirar o fôlego
Those overtakes you showed gave me so much goosebumps, you don’t see that now with those stupid wide cars
This Fernando Alonso Humble does deserve to be a tri champion !!!
I bet Usain Bolt can beat Fernando in his Mclaren-Honda in a 100m sprint.
+rahul raj McLaren-Honda has the best car on the grid in 1 thing: Starts. They are faster than everyone in the starts. So that's a good joke, if u know anything about F1
u never know, one might screw up the start like Kimi in Monza.
+rahul raj then they should do it with both cars at same time. 2 cars cant fail at same time
It was a joke. Don't stress your brain so much!!!!
+rahul raj It was a flawed joke. It had nothing to do with McLaren's reputation.
Favorit circuit in my F1 game
it should be kimi talking here, he's the king of spa.
And the irony is Fernando never won in Spa. :(
+Manju Sharma forgot to mention that
If kimi would have talked this video would be 30 minutes long 😉
"Bwoahit'sagoodcornerverybigelevationchangeilikeit"
*cues outro*
schumacher is the king of spa ;)
2:50 that redbull upwash
This is incorrect, the difference is not 40.8 m but 25 m from the bottom of Eau Rouge to the exit of Raidillon; 40 m would get you past the middle of Kemmel straight. The lowest point is near Paul Frere and the highest point at Malmedy, some 100 m of altitude difference which is pretty awesome for this beautiful circuit!
that Webber pass is up there
What's he doing in kimi's backyard?
BMK500 King of Spa ;)
Looks like it wasn't his backyard when they were driving the same car
@@alvaro39mg30 To be honest though, Kimi did finish higher than Alonso in 2014, in probably the only good race he had in the 2014 season.
@@alvaro39mg30 he literally finished ahead by nearly 30 secs in 2014
So cool.
"There is only one line" ---> Cue the overtake at entry
Eau Rouge best corner ever!
amazing driver!,such a shame he doesnt have a good car..
The stretch from eau rouge to raidillon is frikin dangerous. Especially after seeing hubert's crash
*Its Raidllion Actually*
For me the corkscrew of Laguna Seca and this corners are the best
And the Masta Kink on the old spa track. Taking that at 210mph in cars with zero downforce made that the best

i've seen the WTF1 video but not in this case
i've driven on the circuit plenty of times, driving through the corner feels like when an airplane takes of. You get the feeling of being pushed down
The Old Eau Rouge was even more Spectacular! Belgian Stefan Bellof paid with his life trying to over take near the Eau Rouge in 1984 in his PORSCHE 962C ... 🕯🌷🌿
Beaucoup de pilotes F1 ont fait un commentaire sur Eau Rouge, celui d'Alonso est d'une grande humilité.
He is the king
2:34 - best angle I've ever seen
I remember driving this section with no aids in F12004. What a blast. Was tricky but rewarding if done right.
2022 will be the last year on this amazing circuit.
Thx liberty TV to sell the soul of F1.
Best corner in the history of motorsport, no doubs about.
Maybe Alonso should unlock some cornering speed
RBorlax07 IMPOSSIBRU!!!!!
so funny how they only use the OLD engine audio for these "emotion" videos!
Eau Rouge, a corner that denied Norris his first Pole (probably)
Max was still going to beat him
"speed" "rollercoaster" "up and down"
side to side like a rollercoaster
Webber...Jesus... that was a gutsy move.
someone has to give this guy a good car...
Fer the best!
People do love Spa 💘
Eau Rouge y la de izquierdas de final de rectade meta de InterLagos, lo mejor.
alonso is best!
The only Spa treatment a race fan needs!
Everyone became an F1 expert after Radillon video released by Formula1.
From the title and thumbnail I'd hoped it was Alonso with his ear to the road like a 'circuit whisperer' or something!
