杜甫草堂 Du Fu's thatched cottage- mentioned in the second poem, is now a museum inside a large park of bamboo groves. I visited it in around 2013, and it was mostly peaceful and quiet - as it seems to have been for Du fu over 1000 years ago.
Yes. It is so wonderful that this was kept. Du Fu was deeply missed and loved by Chinese people for over a thousand years because he was the one giving the common people a voice when they did not have one!!
I quite like 春望. I also like Stephen Owen who did a complete translation of Du Fu poems available online. So I checked out his translation of View in Spring. Which goes…… The state broken, its mountains and rivers remain, the city turns spring, deep with plants and trees. Stirred by the time, flowers, sprinkling tears, hating parting, birds, alarm the heart. Beacon fires stretch through three months, a letter from family worth ten thousand in silver. I’ve scratched my white hair even shorter, pretty much to the point where it won’t hold a hatpin. I didn’t much care for it. So I decided to give a go myself. The state is collapsing and yet mountains and rivers persist. Cities abandoned whilst flora flourishes through the Spring. Even flowers are weeping during such evocative times. Being unwilling to separate the parting birds startle my resolve. Beacon fires have spread for the last three months. I would gladly spare no change for a measly letter from home. I’ve now scratched my white hair so short, that it’s not even able to hold a single hairpin anymore. I approach translation as relationship rather than a service. For those like Owen servicing the text, accuracy and faithfulness are the most prominent virtues. For me I try and develop a relationship with the text and the author so that we may work together to produce something unique that belongs to multiple places and time periods simultaneously.
I agree. Owen's translation is a literal translation that aims at accuracy. However, the feelings and emotions evoked by the poem are also very important, sometimes more important than accuracy.

春望是最好我看到的杜甫唐诗。 “国破山河在” 只有五个字 但是已经有很多的意思。
This is also one of my favourite poem. It is typical Du Fu style, concise, elegant, and multiple layers of meanings and significance.
