- Sony had a new State of Play today showcasing a bunch of games coming to PS5 and PSVR2. Updates on past reveals games like Stellar Blade, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Death Stranding 2, along with new reveals like Sonic x Shadow Generations, a new Kojima game, and a brand new surprise PT like Silent Hill. Here’s my thoughts.

It was decent. Ronin looks good. FF7RB obviously. Otherwise it was mediocre. Hoping for a better second half to the year with first party stuff.
Sadly that will not happen till 2025 of april

Stellar Blade HAS to come out on PC. It is a modder's dream game.

1st year it was Rachet & Clack, Horizon Forbidden West
2nd year it was God of War Ragnarok
3rd year it was Spider-man 2
This year it will be Wolverine, Bloodborne 2
They're saving that for Showcase clearly. They're obviously going to be huge and require even more time. The first half of the year is still packed full of Exclusives, more than any other platform by far.

@@mikeuk666Also as a mainly xbox user (have both but prefer xbox), I thought the games shown looked interesting and almost everything shown was high quality. Probably not going to pick any of them up though, but may try them if they end up on PS Plus.

Solid show today. Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2, and Dragon's Dogma 2 all look great. Silent Hill 2 remake and V rising look promising. Might even try Helldivers 2 in solo mode

I'm not sold on Stellar Blade. I know alot of folks are hyped about that game but I'm just not feeling it.
Never played Death Stranding 1 before but after seeing the DS2 trailer, makes me wanna go out & find a copy of DS1 to play. Definitely looking forward to seeing what Kojima has planned next. Dragon's Dogma 2 & Rise of Ronin also both look spectacular.
I hope that V Rising can help me forget about how bitterly disappointing Diablo 4 is. Hope that V Rising turns out to be great. Dave The Diver & Until Dawn Remake also looking good.
Cautiously optimistic about the Silent Hill 2 Remake. This is modern day Konami after all.
Everything else in the SofP was meh.
Helldivers 2 is a PVE game, why solo it?

Ronin and Stellar Blade look good. The show was not bad but not great.

It was a great State of Play. We needed it after all the horrible news we got from Xbox last week. Death Stranding to look amazing and Stellar Blade is a Day one. Remind me of Bayonetta

The only games that looked good were DS2 and Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin looks cool but not a wide release and the treversal looks like a Ubisoft game. This year looks like PlayStation is relying on 3rd party heavily this year, as someone who doesn’t own a PlayStation himself, nothing has made me want to buy one, I just wait for the games to come out on pc, but this year looks like Xbox and Nintendo (if they release the switch 2 this year) will sweep in regards to games and Sony will need to put some games out to sway me at this point, but DS2 looks actually good and stellar blade looks like DMC for people who actually like hands
Besides Spiderman series,days gone and maybe the last of us two and the stuff with FF7 I don't really see a reason to get a ps5 myself. It's the only reason I want one just to play those games but that's about it and the wolverine game when that drops, other than that I'm sticking with my series x and all my games I already have on that one

@@Teja Stellar Blade and Death Stranding are not owned by Sony, they are only publishing them, the actual first party studios haven’t announced anything for 2024 or 2025, what does Santa Monica or Bend Studio have in the pipeline line for the next years, we know what Xbox has for this year and know about games developed for the next year, I have the same problem with Nintendo right now but they have a new system coming out soon, so tell me what we have coming up from first party studios owned by Sony or properties owned by Sony, because I have seen nothing as of late
I was completely unimpressed, disappointed. There were literally no games that looked interesting to me, and no ff7 rebirth demo. What a waste of fucking time!

Wasn’t a really good show imo. PS has no games unfortunately, i have no idea what some people see in stellar blade. I am excited to try out the silent hill short story. Sh2 looked really bad imo as well as Ronin and foamstars. Sonic was a nice little surprise. Dragons Dogma looked very interesting and after playing DS1, there is absolutely zero chance I’m going to try out DS2.

Kinda burned out on the Samey-Rai games.
This direct was a joke, nothing for 2024 except FF7rb and Ronin, everything else is 2025 and dreams (Kojima making promises, again)

Death Stranding 2, Dragon's Dogma 2 & Rise of Ronin were easily the big highlights of this SofP. Dave The Diver looks cool too as did that Diablo-esque game V Rising. Until Dawn Remake looks great although I wish they had just made a sequel instead of a remake.
Cautiously optimistic about Silent Hill 2 Remake, can't forget what F@$knami previously did to both Metal Gear & Contra the last time they released new games for both of those once-great franchises.
Everything else however was meh.
I know that alot of people are hyped for Stellar Blade but me personally I'm just not feeling it. The combat looks good but the world & characters just feel kinda bland and I don't know about the story. Probably will try it out when it hits PS+ & maybe it'll surprise me but definitely not a game I'm gonna rush out to buy day 1.

Hey man genuine question, what did you see in it? Not trying to be snarky i just have tried to get into it a few times and came away not very happy with it. Maybe it was the writing but it just bounced off for me and I wanna know what worked for you with it
This State of Play is easily one of my favorites from recent years. Stellar Blade looks even better than I could imagine. I really hope it ends up being fantastic. The character designs and world are gorgeous.
SO EXCITED we got to see more of Judas

@@Teja He refers to the fact that Sony does not have its own games. It is a reality that you do not want to see it. It is something else. They are games from external studios and not made in-house by Sony itself. Let those games come out. The important thing that people buy those games is something that not many are going to like, those games they only like to show off

The PS5 and this generation in general has been really disappointing. All the best games have been sequels and remakes that were possible on the PS4.
How exactly can you complain about good games getting sequels?
This might have been the most disappointing show I’ve ever seen from PlayStation. Where the hell are the 1st party games? I personally bought it for its 1st party and not one of those games were 1st party at all. If DS2 was not in this show it would have been an F show.
