Mrs. Joan, I'm 37 years old, and I'm scheduled to have a total knee replacement in 1 month. I was looking for someone with a good spirit and attitude here on youtube who has been through this and could let me know what to expect. Thank you for doing this video!! I feel uplifted and better prepared! Bless you!
Thank you so much for sharing...I'm 65 and just starting on week 3...I'm having lots of pain doing the bending 😢 exercises ...it's stiff and PAINFUL, but your sharing is encouraging me ...."Thank you" for sharing...
@@JuiceBoxJunkies I had a total knee replacement on the 15th of April I was walking without a canner Walker on the third day I did PT and I continue to do pt to this day it is painful but if you do the PT it gets easier and easier just use a lot of ice and do the PT and you'll do great I'm 68 years old and I did fine there's so many people on here that says how horrible it is and it's really not. It depends on your attitude and I prayed a lot and ask God to relieve me of all this pain. He answered my prayers now I'm 3 months out very little pain and walking people don't even know I've had a knee replacement unless I tell them God bless you and I will pray for you for a speedy recovery
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video. I'm going in for a total knee replacement in two days and I've been terrified... You are precious. Thank you for being vulnerable! ❤
Mrs. Joan, I had Bilateral total knee surgery Sept.22. I did so much research, and read and watched everything I could get my hands on! Bought things that would be beneficial to success. I have had a remarkable go of it so far…minimal pain…only one night at hospital…Husband took two weeks off to take care of me. You are showing not only your story…but my story as well!!! I am getting stronger everyday..Keep shining for the Lord😊He is worthy. Jesus I trust you… was a sticker that I had made and what I had the nurse put over my IV❤tube. God bless you, love Debbie
Just had surgery on 9/14/22 and is non weight bearing for 3 months because I also broke my tibia. No Therapy yet but I've been bending my knee. I'm in a wheelchair and hopping around on a walker. I can't tell you how much pain I have in my shoulders and arms. I have so much respect for people who are wheelchair bound. Looking for a complete and speedy recovery.
Hello Mrs Joan. Thank you so much for sharing. It really is a big help for me. My surgery is scheduled for October 4 th. So I have time to prepare. I have a low pain tolerance, that has me nervous more than anything. If you could say some prayers for me, that would be great. Thanks again! I'm following you for all the good things you share. Love recipes and could use organizing tip too! Lol God Bless Mrs Joan.😊❤
I just had total knee replacement a week and a half ago, found your video and I want you to know how encouraging it was to watch your video. Thank you for making it, so far It has helped me out quite a bit. I think I'm not as far along as you were at 2weeks but I'm hanging in there thank you and God bless you
We never know how God is going to use us. You have been blessed. I will have my surgery this month. I feel that God put you before me at this time. You're my angel and I will watch your smiling face and practice your positive attitude throughout my recovery.
I am so thankful my video blessed you. I'm going to pray for you. It's rough but I kept telling myself that God goes before us paving a way and how He never leaves us even when we're asleep during surgery! Let me know how you do.
Mrs. Joan, I want to be part of your family. You are so warm and welcoming. Thank you for sharing your knee replacement journey with us. I feel much better about having my own knee replacement coming up soon. Thank you so much! ❤
What kind words and it touches my heart. I'll be praying about your surgery. Let us know on here how you do. I read how you want to be in my family to my husband and daughter. They said to let you in as they need help. I've about worked them to death this week! 😂
I will be having a total knee replacement on January 17th 24...I have been a lil anxious but your demeanor and positive attitude has really encouraged me!!! I will have an attitude of gratitude knowing that the Lord is with me and will see me thru!!!! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us!!!
I pray for all my new friends having surgery. You're so right that God never leaves us and He'll see you through this recovery. Chime in sometime and update me on your journey.
Thank you so much for this video! You’re so encouraging. I’m having my surgery in two weeks and envisioned myself coming home half dead with pain. There you are dressed, happy as a lark and feeling so pleased with your progress. You’re so sweet. I feel much more confident about this whole thing after seeing you. I can do this!
What a blessing to hear from you! I'm going to pray for your recovery. When I had rough times I depended on the Lord and would say "This too shall pass!" It didn't come to stay, it came to pass! The pain will pass!!!
I am due to have a replacement on Nov. 2. I will be coming home same day. She is very encouraging, and a good attitude means a lot I know. We can do this!!! Good luck!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I had back surgery May 2022 and getting TKR June 2024. My anxiety level was on 1,000 until I came across your video this morning. Your tenacity, positivity and humor combined is so uplifting. Plus the animal print tops! I am so encouraged to plow through after seeing and hearing your testimony. Best of everything to you and please keep me in your prayers.
Yes I'm going to pray for you. Let us know on here how you do. Remember to take it one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time, as it will begin to heal as swelling goes down.
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan Mrs. Joan I am one week and two days out of surgery. The first three days were pretty bad. I have physical therapy at home for the next two weeks. The therapist is working this knee and it’s no fun but necessary. I am walking through the house with my walker. I feel the prayers and know they are helping me get through this. Thanks for your prayers, the Lord bless you.
I had a total knee replacement 3 yrs ago. It was very difficult for me. I’m having a total knee replacement in 2 days. Anxiety is very high. However, watching your video has been a delight. You just tickle me. I love your attitude. Thank you
Mrs Joan! Thanks so much for the Prayers!! I am now 4 weeks since my TKR, and am doing well! Had 117 degrees range of motion Thursday. More to come! They also gave me a knee cap re-cap. THAT hurt 2 days after!! Let's keep up with our exercises and thank the Lord for our recoveries!! Bob
Oh my goodness you are just wonderful. I'm 53 and just had partial knee surgery. God bless you for making this video. I'm five weeks out and this video was so encouraging. I was looking for a video from a patient not a doctor. Great job.
Well let me tell you, this knee surgery kicked my ass. I didn’t think it would be so painful. But after 2 months things started to do better. Now I’m at 3 months. Still sore and stiff but doing better! Can’t wait for no pain! Thanks for your encouraging words and happiness!
I hope your doing well dear . My wife is having a knee replacement in the morning. We came up one your video . She just loves you for showing her how it is going to be on her. You have made her feel much better tonight . God bless you and thank you .
Mrs. Joan, my wife says to tell you thank you for this encouraging video. Her surgery is in 3 weeks, and yesterday was a bad worrying day. Her spirits are uplifted with your positive message.
I just wanted to tell you I had a total on April 15th and started walking without a cane or walker I did extremely well. I'm still doing therapy on my own I want continue throughout the year. You are such a lovely lady God bless you I pray you continue to do well. And thank you for all the information you have given. It's mother's Day today and if your mother I wish you a very happy mother's Day
Thank you for my Mother's Day wish. We waited 11 years for our daughter. I'm so thankful you are doing well. Walking and moving as much as we can sure helps.
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan yes walking doing steps stretching using your brain to do the things you want you need to do. I didn't realize that the brain has everything to do with your knee replacement. Just like with any replacement your mind needs to tell you to make it move my doctor explained that to me. They took me off of PT after 2 weeks I was doing so well and still am. I go to my surgeon tomorrow
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan if I show him that I can do everything he asks. One of the gals on PT told me to order scar tape on Amazon and keep wearing it because it will make my scar almost disappear.. She what's right there's only a small section of my scar that shows. I had such an amazing surgeon and PT helpers that even I'm amazed I'm doing so well. I think God has everything to do with it. I know the Lord what is by my side the whole time. God bless you and I pray that you will recover rapidly!!!!!
Mrs Joan, I love your enthusiasm! I am 3 weeks post op total knee replacement surgery and I’m doing well. I am going to also be so excited to do stairs like a normal person too, so I understood your excitement. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I came across your video almost 3 weeks after having double knee replacement. It has been a struggle having both knees done at the same time, but I am thankful that I did both. It has been a joy seeing your video and quite encouraging. Thank you for your post, it has been a blessing.
Mrs. Joan I came across your video on knee replacement and I want to thank you so much for sharing your journey. I had my total knee replacement surgery on 10/18/2024. I have a great support system with daily prayers to help me along the way. Have a blessed day. 😇 🦵🏾
It's such a blessing to have a support system as many people have commented on here that they do not. You'll be in my prayers. Let us know how you are progressing.
Well done I just had my total replacement, People don't realise how painful it is on a scale of one to four it bends the needle at four , I just want to say well done because what we go through ain't easy especially the exercise, you are one tuff cookie I wish you well for the future
I just gone through the 4th week after my surgery. Listening to these total knee surgery patients, I feel greatfull to my family and friends who literally renovated my house for the after surgery life. I have lived alone from day one, and my son and daughter only pop in to bring grocery or to make sure everything is OK. My pt therapist allowed me to stay at home, I never had to go to out patient for the physical therapy. Am healing well, the swelling is gone. pain is now only when I think of it. I now feel like the 'former' bad leg is so strong. I now dont have confidence in the former 'good' leg. Am going to request the doctor to do something about it. Believe me. This formerly weak, deformed painful leg is so strong. I feel so good about this procedure. All I can say is THANK YOU GOD.
Ms. Joan I'm going to be scheduled for toral knee replacement the week before Christmas 2024. I'm a nurse and also the biggest whimp, but your video really helped me, but your video really encouraged me. I will keep you informed of my progress. May the Lord bless you.
I was a whimp too but had to draw from my faith and trust the good Lord with the outcome. I'm thankful my journey encouraged you and yes please let us know on here how you are doing. Will be praying.
Mrs. Joan, you are a joy! I’m on day 5 and I’m worried that I’m not doing enough rehab here at home. You shared such wonderful tips! From one preacher’s wife to another: “God Bless!”
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I’m 5 weeks out today. I really needed your video of encourage today. The Lord knew I needed this. Blessings to you!
Greetings, it is a blessing sitting up here in bed (week 4) watching you. I’m living in Normandy, TN. Right Total Knee Replacement still has pain. My left knee will be replaced October 4th. This is not fun, but yes sure lift up my spirits. I’m 61. Blessings, Allison 🌼
Lol, I love the joy you have going up and down the steps! I know the feeling. I'm 61 and had my total knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago. It's the little things that make us so happy!🎉😊
Mrs. Joan, I can't tell you how happy you made me. I'm having my knee replacement next month March 21st and have scanning utube looking for information on this surgery and what it entails. I also had the meniscus surgery in November of 2022. You have put my fears to rest. Thank you so much. 💓
Hello Mrs. Joan. I don’t know if you will ever see this but I want to thank you for posting your journey. I am 12 weeks outside and could only do stairs one by one. I tried coming up normal and it worked! All praises to GOD. You have inspired me. I want to thank you and I wanted you to know that you have blessed me. Thanks so much.
I’m 44 and need a knee total replacement. The first doctor had me so afraid to get one because I’m too “young”. Second doctor said I’m too young not to get one and live my life. Your video is encouraging and has helped take away some of that fear I’m facing. Hopefully I will be enjoying a new knee soon.
I needed one at 38, knee it was going to be good for at least twenty years. I waited and at 57 just got TKR, I'm at week 8. Hard call to get it or not, I waited and anticipate it'll be good until my late 70's.
Thank you for all your information. I have been nursing my knees for over 20yrs fearing replacement surgery. I have an upcoming surgery and have been dreading if I should do it. You gave me a lot of information that I needed to know and put me at ease. Pray for me as I proceed with the surgery. I will be using your video after the surgery to follow for advice. God Bless you and Thank you for helping us all that needed this video.❤
I will be praying for your surgery. Also I dreaded it too. Finally decided to put it in the Lord's hands. I had gotten to where it was hard to walk. Let me know how you do.
I just stumbled across your channel and oh my goodness thank you for sharing this. I am 65 yr old and having total knee replacement next month. When I saw you walk up and down those steps on wee 7 my heart filled with tears. I have don the bridal step up and down stairs so many years now, I would go up and down like you did. I’m getting married in 4 months and I pray I can walk down that aisle. I’m so proud of you and thank you again. Oh I subscribed too.
I had left knee replacement surgery on March 1st, 2024. I've healed up very nicely. Had my 2 weeks in home therapy and am doing 2-3 days weekly out patient therapy. I finally got in my head that my knee wasn't going to bust open when I tried to bend it. 😊 I'm truly trying to bend it more each day. It is so painful bending it. Take my cane with me just in case. I have a leg bike I try to do 3-4 17 minute sessions on it. My question is how did you sleep at now?I wake up and my leg is aching and I can't go right back to sleep. I feel tired like I have no energy at all. Once I got up and moving I tried to stay moving and bending my leg as much as possible. It's hard but I keep pushing on. I need to get that mobility back and back to normal and work. Your video was truly inspirational and I agreed with everything you discussed. Prayers are with you and thank you for taking the time to motivate and take all those tkr people on their journey ahead.
I needed it💜🦋 💜 I'm getting ready for TKR next month and need all the encouragement. What a beautiful attitude you have for your Health & Life Thank you and i'll check out some of your other videos.
Miss Joan I’m going to be having my total knee replacement surgery on November 19,2024 and I can’t begin to you what a true inspiration you are to me and how you’ve taken this frear of the unknown away from me. So I thank you for being your authentic self. And for keeping it completely real. You’re a true blessing and an earth angel. It was an honor to watch you recover in real time. May the lord continue his blessings upon you. Sincerely, Bridget
Thank you so much for taking us on your journey! I just got the news that I’ll be having a TKR in a few months. I am a little scared because of the unknown. They haven’t given me the all the info of what to expect. Now I know the in’s and out’s thanks to you! I, too, haven’t gone up and down my stairs in at least three years. My craft room is upstairs and that is my goal, to do crafts again!! You are precious and I will pray for continued healing.
Thank you so very much! I’m 4 weeks post surgery, and I’m doing fantastic. I was truly bathed in prayer during this process and I truly believe that is what helped me get through this. God is good! Your video made me feel safe knowing someone is out there who went through the same process as me. I cried watching the video with thankfulness. Thank you from Southern California!
Thank you for your positivity, im 52, in the UK and my right knee is being done today. I will not watch any other videos as I want to take your positivity with me into surgery, thank you!
Just a few weeks before my TKR of a knee I broke 20 years ago. I appreciate your wisdom, advice and mostly your positive outlook. Thanks for making it a little less scary in the days beforehand.
My Goodness! You are adorable. Im 64 know i need a total replacement before end of year. I had a left hip replaced 4 years ago and after two months i was doing great. I know as a retired nurse how complex a knee is and i am terrified but the instability is no quality of life. Thank you so much for such a cute and positive video.
@@MrUnaleona I will be praying that you make the right decision about your knees. Looking back I'm glad I did it, but it was a slow painful go. One day at a time for sure!
New subscriber ❤ My husband is currently in surgery getting a full replacement on his knee and I've been watching so many videos to bring me hope and positivity.. right now I'm just waiting for the call from the doctor that he's in the recovery room but I'm nervous and would greatly appreciate prayers❤ we have an amazing church family that is praying for us and saying that they will be there for us for anything. Wanting to bring us food etc. My husband is a hard worker and no matter how much pain he's ever been in the past and never stops him from working hard and taking care of the family. I'm just praying that he allows himself to heal so he can have a good and complete recovery. He works full time at our church over the homeless ministry and knows that is where God placed him. I just know it's going to be difficult for him to have to depend on others and not be there for others like he has been in the recent years❤😢
Thank you so much for writing me. Your husband sounds like mine, always helping others with little attention drawn to himself and his needs. I will specifically pray he'll take the time he needs for healing and that he'll get peace about stepping back for now and letting others do things he usually handles. We were in full-time ministry 40 plus years so I totally understand. I recorded my journey as God laid it on my heart to encourage others. Praying for him and you too as his caregiver.
Thank you so much for your video. I’m having knee surgery on February 21 2023 and 69 let me tell you I’m really scared but your video was so enlightening that I am feeling better about it now. I’ll probably be able to handle it. Hopefully the pain won’t be any more terrible than the knee has been this past year bone on bone. Thank you again and I’m glad your recovery went so well 😊
Hi Kathy. I had my TKR on February 20, 2023. I’m also in my sixties. I’m not in great shape physically. Pain Meds and icing have been keeping me comfortable but I’m still in pain. I went to my second therapy session yesterday. My therapist stretched my leg in a few ways. Yes, it hurt, but afterwards, for the rest of the day, I felt less pain. I have other health issues that may be causing me more pain than usual. I don’t know for sure. I was just wondering how you’re coming along.
You are such an inspiration and so positive! I have finally made an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon and will 1st see his NP. I am a former nurse who had to go on disability due to knees and surgery on my left elbow. Your video gives me more insight into the journey than any post surgical TKA patient I ever took care of! Thank you Mrs. Joan for documenting your progress from start to finish. This gives me encouragement!
Thank you Mrs. Joan! I am getting ready to have my First surgery ever in my life. Total knee replacement on my left knee. I am very apprehensive, but you have been very encouraging and reassuring. Thank you
Had me smiling so much seeing how much a positive outlook can change so much 💕 so glad you're healing so fast and doing so well. I found myself cheering along with you going up and down steps ❤️❤️ such a refreshing soul, you are!
❤Ms. Joan, thank you for sharing your journey. I recently had MAKO total knee replacement surgery June 25, 2024. Your videos have helped and blessed my painful journey. Blessings and favor to you and yours
Hi Ms. Joan, I watched your knee placement surgery video prior to my own surgery. Thanks for helping me prepare and know what to expect. It was very calming to have a notion about what to expect. My surgery was a success and I'm on the mend. Thanks for your efforts to share this. You have been a blessing to me.
Great video! I had my knee replacement on my right knee June 22nd and my left knee August 22 so I am now almost 2 months out from my last surgery. My recovery has been like yours, but seeing you go up and down those stair has me in awe. I am now going to start practicing that. The recovery on my second surgery seems to be a little slower than the first but with the help of the out patient therapy, I am sure I will get better. Thanks for your video. It was nice to have someone to compare to.
Mrs Joan! I am scheduled for a complete knee replacement next Friday on June 28th! I fell January 10th and have been in unbearable pain since! I can hardly walk! I just wanted to say thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart for this video you did! I started with one doctor but I was not really comfortable with him and my pastor suggested that I go and see her surgeon that did hers! From the first few minutes I loved him and knew I wanted him to do my surgery! His whole team is so nice! I did take classes just as you! I think I am ready for next week! I can tell you that I can’t wait to be on the other side and start my recovery! I will pray for you and your continued good health and thank you again and God Bless! Love from NY! ❤🙏
I'll be praying on the 28th for you. It truly means alot to have peace that you have the right doctor and team. Let me know how you do. My prayer was for my videos to encourage others.
I feel so blessed by Jesus that I came across your video. I just had my ankle/foot surgery. I had 5 incisions. 2 are extremely large incisions. Dr told me that my left was the worst and he had to do nearly every type of surgery on it. Apparently it was critically bad. I have to have my right knee next and then my other foot/ankle. I pray it is easier than what I’m going through now? At this time, I’m not sure if they have to do the left knee also. Well, this first of many surgeries….has proven very challenging. I have uneven steps on my front porch. I had handrails put up but they broke as soon as I tried to use them. I’m no weight bearing right now. My left knee buckles on me. I’ve tried to get my porch extended out to be even with the sidewalk and then the ramp to the driveway. I’ve tried several different organizations to help but I’m over their guidelines on income but can’t afford to purchase the $4500 in lumber. It takes 2 to 3 people to get me in and out of my house. I have a temporary ramp but it’s at such a high incline that it’s not safe. I feel neglected and abandoned by family and a lot of my friends. Then…. I saw your video…. Lord Jesus is good. He used you and your knee surgery to help encourage me. In the Bible…..it says… Worry not for tomorrow for tomorrow will worry for itself….. something like that…. Thank you Lord Jesus for this dear blessed Christian lady. I trust you Lord Jesus to get me through all of this. Jesus’ message to me when my 2 1/2 month old granddaughter passed away…. I’ve got this….I’ve got you.
Thank you for your video! 😊I had my TKR 7 weeks ago. Went through everything that you mentioned as well. Yes, it hurt more than I had expected- the first 2-3 weeks are a blur. My husband was my steadfast nurse cook and bottle washer . I suddenly realized that I turned a corner and my spirits improved. The remaining issue is the tightness (a vise) around my knee which is keeping me from getting past 115 degrees sitting-96 degrees lying on the PT bed. I am able to walk unassisted and ride a recumbent bike. Stretch your calves and hamstrings. Motion is lotion!
Had my TKR on March 29th 2023 and personally wanted to die the pain was so BRUTAL. Given Endone every 3 hours which for me did nothing. On the 31st the pain management team came and put me on Fentynal drip for 2 and a half days. Then I was able to do a few exercises. Tried the ice machine but that caused me more pain. Warmth has been the solution for some pain. Hydrotherapy twice a week, Physiotherapist comes to my home once a week. The other days I use a tens machine each morning for 30 minutes then electric MASSAGE for 10 minutes. I then use my hands to MASSAGE GENTLY the scar and total area of TKR. Personally every bodies body is different. Some can get through with little pain some, like me have a high pain level. I had my ex husband came and stayed to help me ( I have 2 cats ) and am now being carerd for by my aged care provider - I live in Australia. No two people have the EXACT same experience.. For me I have never experienced such BRUTAL pain that sent me into depression for a few weeks. I do hope people have a better experience than myself. Things are much better now but it takes around 12 to 18 months or more to fully heal.
So glad I found you Mrs. Joan. I'm having a total knee replacement surgery on November 12th and I really needed this info. I'm nervous about it but I need the surgery. Thank you so much for this. ❤😊
You are definitely a trooper! Great attitude and that’s why you’re doing so remarkably well! My husband may be having a TKR some time next year and I want to show him your video to give him a good idea about the whole experience. Thank you so much for documenting and sharing all those little important moments! May you continue to do well and heal completely some time in the near future! God Bless! Just stay positive and keep your beautiful smile! 🙏🏻❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏻
Mrs. Joan, I want to thank you for your video. I had both knees done in May and I'm at the 3 month mark. I'm doing fine but always think I'm not doing enough. Through your testimony I can see that I'm doing just fine. God bless you!
Thank you so much for this video I’m due for total bilateral knee surgery on 1/31/23 , and you have eased my anxiety God bless and I pray you continue to have a speedy recovery ❤
You are my fairy godmother for my upcoming knee surgery on January 12 2023. I am already working on channeling your positivity and good humor. I’ve watched hundreds of videos on every aspect of TKR but you went directly to my spirit and gave me strength. Look forward to following your journey!
Mrs Jone, I had total knee replacement January 5, 2023 and it’s been almost 4 weeks. I was hurting today and thought I’d see if there was any videos to help with this journey, and I found you. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to do this, it truly is a blessing and answered questions for me and is very informative and encouraging. I to am a born again believer and appreciate your spirit of thankfulness on your life journey. May the LORD continue to bless you and preacher!
Ms Joan. I'm at 3 weeks walking with a cane now. I'm still feeling the pain with some sleepless nights but I'm hanging in there. I'm starting my outpatient therapy in a couple of days. I watched your video again. Ur an angel. ❤
I totally understand. Nights are awful trying to get comfortable. Ice and heating pads would seem to get my mind off the pain. I'll be praying for you.
Had total on April 15th. My quad took so long to wake up. I couldn’t get a single leg raise until about 4 weeks. I’m 7 weeks now and still in therapy 3 times a week and use a cane due to the weak quad. Still hurt. Stiff some days and have that tight band feeling. I get frustrated, thinking I’m behind caused myself so much stress I started losing my hair. I regret it still. I try and do the I’m strong thing but some days I don’t want to be anymore. I love your video. I’m still trying. I don’t go anywhere alone and I still use my cane. I’ll be glad to see that relief and light at the end of the tunnel. It’s lonely and scary.
Thanks for sharing your story. Don't give up. It's so different for everyone. My doctor says it takes a year to get to 100 percent healed. I'm going to pray for you.
Hey, I’m right there with you. It’s been 6 weeks for me, and there’s days of uncertainty. Remember, each day is adding up, and one day we’ll get there. Keep holding on!
Mrs. Joan, you were a joy to watch.😊 Thank you for your video! I've just had my left knee replacement surgery on 8/1/23, and today is 8/27/23. I'm doing and feeling great! I drove home after my release date. Started my PT the next week. My last week of PT will be on Thursday, 8/31. I went back to work on 8/14, and I feel about 80%. I'll get my numbers next week to see how much I'm able to bend my knee. Thank you again for giving insite to us, so that we need to know what is ahead for us. I love your spirit!!! Especially when you were able to go up/down the stairs!!❤😊
I'm going to pray you continue to improve. It's a tough surgery but with a positive attitude and faith in God we can do it! Thanks for your comment. It will encourage others.
Well you are such a pleasure to have come across! I am contemplating a TKR, scared to death but know I desperately need it! You gave me much hope and after watching your video , I am thinking heck I can do this! Thanks for such an honest report of your journey! 🙏bless you.
Hi Joan, I just watched your video. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am facing TKR the end of this month. Now that the long awaited answer to having an injured and failing knee has become a fast approaching reality, I must admit that fear is loaming. I surely appreciate you making this video sharing your experiences on what to expect does provide some comfort. Please pray for me if you will. I am 63, and my surgery is October 27, 2022. Thank you and continued progress in your future. .
Hi Mrs. Joan, So glad the Good Lord blessed you with a good recovery. I am getting set for knee replacement surgery in December I hope. You video is a life saver for me. I know pretty much what to expect and how to deal with the emotional roller coaster after surgery. I too, am placing God in the forefront of it all. God place you for acting this on YT for the rest of us. ,
I’m 5 days post op you are so positive and generous thank you! I’m encouraged to be patient and do the therapy. You made great progress. I’m sure you’re a great cook as well. I can’t wait to do steps🙌. God bless you
You’re joy is wonderful! I’m looking at my first knee replacement is scheduled for April and this is the first video I’ve seen by an actual patient. You have made me feel much more confident. Bless you!!
I had full knee replacement end Oct 23. I watched so many UA-cam videos, but this is the best one I have seen. I can so relate to everything. Thank you for sharing ❤❤
I will be having my TKR on 6 January 2025. I have been suffering for 2 yr and the time has come. I am so looking forward to get back to walking my 4-6 miles a day. Thank you for this positive video, this is exactly what I needed.
You are an absolute inspiration! I had my left knee replaced this past April and my recovery was so hard. I actually fell one week post surgery, and I thank God that I didn't injure my knee. Im finally getting to feel more "normal," but it's a ways to go still. I'm scheduled for my right knee replacement 19-oct. I'm so scared that it will be the same or worse. Please pray for me.
May God bless you and I hope you get through this second knee surgery well. Just remember no pain no gain you will do great a positive mind will get you through it much easier😊

Mrs. Joan, both my knees are bad, torn meniscus in both. Not sure what’s going to be done, but I really enjoyed your video. I had back surgery 8 months ago, physical therapy is a blessing!! I’m going to download your video to watch again depending on what happens, thank you so much for making it and I’m glad your knee is good!! God bless, Julie
Miss Jones, good luck on your journey. Your second surgery will be a piece of cake. I an on my 2nd knee surgery and only 3 weeks in. Your encouragement is great! Thank you Miss Joan for your video you literally encouraged my heart. I went to the doctor today and actually scheduled my knee appointment for the end of October. I never imagined I would be in this place but I’m here. I watched a number of videos before I came across yours. And I was so encouraged. Your faith and trust in your belief in God getting you through the process was what really moved me because I knew once I scheduled a date all I could do at that point is pray. I had my total knee replacement surgery on my right knee on December 7, 2022. Have had a lot of pain and also extreme nerve pain. Going to Pain management next week for the nerve pain and just completed my physical therapy yesterday. I also have issues with bursitis in my hip along with sciatica so it makes it difficult to sit for long periods of time. I really feel like I would be farther along if I could sit longer. My bending is around 108 to 110 and extension is at 0. Your video has really encouraged me to give it my all even thru all this pain. Thank you.

Thank you again and I’m glad your recovery went so well 😊
I'll be praying for you. Let us know how you do.
What sweet words. I'm thankful it encouraged you. I'll pray for you to find the answers and direction you need about possible surgery.
Thank you Mrs. Joan! I am getting ready to have my First surgery ever in my life. Total knee replacement on my left knee. I am very apprehensive, but you have been very encouraging and reassuring. Thank you
I appreciate how much you put into this video!!! I’m 5 days post surgery & keep asking why did I do this?!? Thank you for sharing!
I thought that too at times. But keep moving forward, one day at a time. Slowly you'll begin to see improvement.
I’m 9 days and was saying the same thing. Still don’t know why I did this. I hate the stiffness.
Had me smiling so much seeing how much a positive outlook can change so much 💕 so glad you're healing so fast and doing so well. I found myself cheering along with you going up and down steps ❤️❤️ such a refreshing soul, you are!
Thank you! What a nice comment!
❤Ms. Joan, thank you for sharing your journey. I recently had MAKO total knee replacement surgery June 25, 2024. Your videos have helped and blessed my painful journey. Blessings and favor to you and yours
Thank you and I will pray for your recovery. God bless you.
What a sweet comment. I'm so thankful the good Lord is using it to help others. I'll be praying for you and let us know how you do!
Mrs. Jones, thank you for sharing your experience with knee replacement surgery. Your positive outlook has encouraged me today!
I'm so thankful it encouraged you. I'll be praying for your journey to be successful too.
That's amazing to have 2 so close together! Sounds like you're doing great!
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan thank you so much and I will definitely keep you updated! ♥️🙏
In the Bible…..it says…
Worry not for tomorrow for tomorrow will worry for itself…..
something like that….
Thank you Lord Jesus for this dear blessed Christian lady.
I trust you Lord Jesus to get me through all of this.
Jesus’ message to me when my 2 1/2 month old granddaughter passed away….
I’ve got this….I’ve got you.
Oh my! I'm going to pray for you and your situation. Please let me know how you are doing.
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan Thanks. It’s greatly appreciated.
You are so delightful! My Husband will be having his double knee surgery next week and this video came right on time! God Bless You!
I will add your husband to my prayers. I'm thankful this encouraged him.
The remaining issue is the tightness (a vise) around my knee which is keeping me from getting past 115 degrees sitting-96 degrees
lying on the PT bed. I am able to walk
unassisted and ride a recumbent bike.

I drove home after my release date. Started my PT the next week. My last week of PT will be on Thursday, 8/31.
I went back to work on 8/14, and I feel about 80%. I'll get my numbers next week to see how much I'm able to bend my knee.

I make sure I have all my go too's ready before surgery. Things like my ice machine or ice packs (large frozen peas/corn)
heating pad lidocaine patches for stiff back
gabapentin for nerve pain
