Aw, you missed my favorite part! When Duke says to Eddie: "...and bacon, like in a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich." And Eddie Murphy looks directly at the camera! That one look MADE Eddie Murphy a star in the 1980s!
Pawn shop guy is Bo Diddly, world famous blues guitarist. He and John Belushi, starting with the movie, blues brothers, always put blues musicians in their movies!
It should be noted that Don Ameche hated swearing and wasn't at all keen on using the 'n' word. He apologised to those on set during the appropriate scenes and even turned up early to be able to do so. He had very good morals.
5:51 Gus from Breaking Bad on the left. 11:03 Voice of Miss Piggy/Fozzie Bear/Yoda and film director Frank Oz 26:40 Future Senator Al Franken in the middle. 27:34 John Belushi's brother Jim in the monkey suit.
The 2 train guys worked as writers on SNL for years! The ape suit guy is Jim Belushi, big movie star, but his brother was John, a superstar on SNL and movies. With wynthorpe here, they did The Blues brothers! John had the number 1 TV show, movie, and concert tour all at the same time! Then died way too soon of a drug overdose, same place Marilyn was murdered, by the mob......er ......she overdosed!😅
The two baggage handlers transporting the gorilla 27:24 on the train are comic duo Al Franken and Tom Davis from Saturday Night Live (SNL). Al Franken would become a (D) state senator from 2009 to 2018.
"When we wanted a jacuzzi we had to fart in the tub!" 😂😂😂 There are so many great, classic moments in this movie. Trading Places is a comedy masterpiece. Its full of meaning and laughs.
Looking aside from this classic movie, if you go back to the jail scene when Eddie Murphy's character first gets arrested, you'll see a young Giancarlo Esposito clinging to the bars behind him....he later went on to become the guy who shot Malcolm X in the Denzel Washington film....and then, of course, became one of the greatest villains of all time....Gus Fring, in BREAKING BAD!
Gabby does some funny/great imitations so I knew this movie was gold for her and I was right! Very entertaining Gabby. Love those Christmas jammies you wearin' too! 😁❤🎄
This was eddies, 1st or second movie, older than 18, after leaving Saturday night Live! This or 48 hours, just poured out hits! And this movie, could STILL use a sequel, and the 2 brothers come in at the end of, Coming to America!😮😮😮😮
Ralph Bellemy and Don Ameche were classically trained actors from the 40s and 50s starring next to Cagney, Bogart etc. Don Ameche was such a Gentleman he refused to say the "N' word during filming. Eddy Murphy had to joke around with him for a while to get him to say it. Bo Diddly is the Pawn Shop owner. His photo and music are in the background. Dan was a close friend of Bo.
I've watched this movie, i own this movie and untill now in your review with the blue screen with the poster background I just noticed now Jamie Lee on it on the money. I will always love this movie ...untill the whole monkey stuff, but it picks up, Dan and Eddie are so good in this, Jamie Lee is fantastic as per , and Denolm Renolds the butler is fun to watch after knowing him in a comfort movie Noises Off w/ Christopher Reeves and Mycocanine Micheal Caine
Don’t know if you know, or if someone told you, the the 2 old homeless men on coming to America that Akeem gave the McDowells bag full of money to were Randolph, and Mortimer
A dollar. I can see it. Honestly, I have a folded up $1 bill that I won off my best friend from a bet we had in 2009. I don't need it. I won't spend it. It's bragging rights. Sometimes when we're hanging out, I'll pull it out to see if he wants to try to win it back - but I won't go thru with it. We're both highly competitive and just having that $1 bill in my wallet reminds me that I'm one up on him. Is it stupid and childish? Yes - but so can be middle-age.
1. The booking officer is Frank Oz. (Miss Piggy/various Muppets/Yoda) 2. Beeks/Paul Gleason😇 also played Richard Vernon in "The Breakfast Club" and the idiot assistant police captain in "Die Hard". 3. Landis didn't want Jamie Lee Curtis because she had always been a "scream queen" and he didn't know if she had the chops for comedy. 4. When everyone pauses in the restaurant it's a play on the old "EF Hutton" commercial. "When EF Hutton speaks everybody listens". 5. One of the most VHS pauses in history. Jamie Lee Curtis.😍😋😈 6. GOOF: Where did Louis get the gun AND all those drugs for only $50?🤑Even in 1983. 7. Don Ameche's strong religious convictions made him uncomfortable with swearing. This proved to be a problem for the scene at the end of the movie, where he had to shout out "Fuck him!" to a group of Wall Street executives. When he did act out the scene, it had to be done in one take, because Ameche refused to do a second one. He also had an issue with the N word. 8. There's an Easter egg in "Coming to America" with the Duke brothers. Eddie Murphy at his best.
Sucks you watched *(Coming to America)* first because *The Dukes* make a cameo in it as the homeless Prince *Akeem* gives a lot of money to, that he took from *Semmi*
I think you would love the movie Crash. Eddie Murphy has some classics. Can I suggest Harlem Nights, Life & Coming to America? You’re one of the most insightful reactors I’ve seen 🫶🏾
@davidyoungsr753 I know all about that, but I've about a dozen reactions for this movie, and all the reactors seem to have a bigger problem with the blackface than the use of the n-word, and in this case, the blackface was used as a part of a disguise, as the bad guy had already seen him, maybe it's just me, but if a little white is a fan of Luke Cage, and want to be him for Halloween, I wouldn't have a problem with him wearing makeup to look more like him, again, maybe it's just me.

He still delivered his lines so well. Ameche certainly didn't phone it in
Coleman, "Just be yourself sir, whatever happens they can't take that away from you".
Truer words have never been spoken.
The Dukes are in Coming To America, with Eddie Murphy. You will love it. LOL.
5:51 Gus from Breaking Bad on the left.
11:03 Voice of Miss Piggy/Fozzie Bear/Yoda and film director Frank Oz
26:40 Future Senator Al Franken in the middle.
27:34 John Belushi's brother Jim in the monkey suit.
That is the very young actor Giancarlo Esposito at 6:03 in the jail. Known for TV roles in 'The Mandalorian' and 'Breaking Bad' to name just a few.
The 2 train guys worked as writers on SNL for years! The ape suit guy is Jim Belushi, big movie star, but his brother was John, a superstar on SNL and movies. Eddie Murphy joked on set that between him and the two actors who played the Dukes, they had been in 150 films. This was only Murphy’s third film.
The two actors playing the Duke brothers were super famous heartthrobs from the Golden Age of film. No reactor has ever tackled any of those movies.
Denholm elliot tye butler, was a good actor, he played Marcus Brody in the Indiana Jones franchise.
The..... YEAH!.... Guy, was a movie unto himself!
*That $80,000 a year is $250,000 today in 2024*
The two baggage handlers transporting the gorilla 27:24 on the train are comic duo Al Franken and Tom Davis from Saturday Night Live (SNL). Al Franken would become a (D) state senator from 2009 to 2018.
He was a US Senator not State Senator.
i love her reactions. She is always so cool and likeable.
"When we wanted a jacuzzi we had to fart in the tub!" 😂😂😂 There are so many great, classic moments in this movie. Trading Places is a comedy masterpiece. Its full of meaning and laughs.
I can't help but think of this film whenever I read literature on behavioral economics.
Omg omg. This is my all time favorite movie ❤
This story is based on The Prince and the Pauper. It's a pretty good adaptation of it in my opinion.
Many a guy wore out their VHS copy of "Trading Places" at certain points in the movie. God bless Jamie Lee Curtis! 🥰
The guy logging in Winthrop’s possessions is Frank Oz, the muppeteer who does the voice of Grover, Bert, Miss Piggy, Fozzie bear and Yoda.
Wow I didn’t know that.
thorp
Yeah! (Deep voice)
Gabby does some funny/great imitations so I knew this movie was gold for her and I was right! Very entertaining Gabby. Love those Christmas jammies you wearin' too! 😁❤🎄

Fantastic reaction! Keep up the good work!😊💯
Fabulous hair girl. Can't wait to see what you come up with next
A lot of people miss that Eddie Murphy is imitating Stevie Wonder when he’s pretending to be blind.
Keep an eye out for the Duke Brothers in Coming to America!
😁
I don't know if you watched Coming to America but the Dukes were in it as homeless men check it out. Love your reaction keep it up 👍
Coming to America is a great and underrated comedy
Awesome movie, other funny comedy, my cousin Vinny, nuns on the run.
Coming To America!!
The guy next to Eddie in jail......😮😮😮😮 breaking bad!
Hey sweetie ... Trading Places came BEFORE Coming To America.
Ralph Bellemy and Don Ameche were classically trained actors from the 40s and 50s starring next to Cagney, Bogart etc. Don Ameche was such a Gentleman he refused to say the "N' word during filming. Eddie Murphy could read from the phone book and it would be hilarious. One of those people that makes comedy look easy.
I've watched this movie, i own this movie

The sad thing is this is more relevant today than it was even then.
React to Coming to America, it'll answer a question you asked.
One thing I've wondered is how did Winthorp get all those drugs to put in Valentine's desk with only $50? And after buying the gun?
$1 cut to Louis hoarding shotguns
Just found your channel. You look pretty good. And sound just like a regular bro. Its a win win
I think you'd have a lot of fun with "Overboard"
The 2 old gentlemen who played the Duke brothers, Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy, were both old school Hollywood stars.
This chic is really beautiful, and………her voice too, she was born to do reactions…..she should look into asmr as well
I love Coleman such a great character. Stuck in the middle of the bet and actually remorseful
Pretty girl...
The face of complete horror 17:36
Don’t know if you know, or if someone told you, the the 2 old homeless men on coming to America that Akeem gave the McDowells bag full of money to were Randolph, and Mortimer
Dude - don’t spoil it. She needs to see for herself.
@ I know… my bad… I thought about that…😞

Eddie Murphy said he was in Vietnam yet eas only 21 in this movie.
In Eddie’s movie Coming To America he gives two old bums, sleeping on a bench, a bunch of money and it’s the Duke Brothers. Great reaction!
Winthorpe not Winthrop
Randolph Randolph! 😂 Oh wow she's stunning🤩
Make sure to watch Comimg To America soon. You'll get a nice joke in it, from this movie to that one.
god you are beautiful! i'm in love

A Christmas classic me and my dad still do hey winthorb ahhhhhhhh!!!! As a joke when we have a few drinks 😂
Love you didn't get "triggered" by what some people call blackface but isn't it was a poor disguise
I always had a super crush on Penelope
Hell yeah! She was a model irl. I think at least one of her daughters also became a model.
Checkout the 1979 commercial "When EF Hutton talks...people listen"
That's gus fring by the bars in jail
One of the Baggage Handlers became Senator Al Franken.
Bo Diddley as the pawn broker.
The dukes were the homeless men in coming to America
Little pocket money
I just noticed that kid in the cell with Eddie Murphy is the chicken restaurant guy from Breaking Bad
You mean Giancarlo Esposito.
Bill Pullman the president from Independence Day is the white guy in that scene.
@@lizd2943 nope.
They are transporting a gorilla on a train because its a nonsensical comedy.
Not showing us 4th wall break, when introducing commodities, its a major insult to reaction community :D
Sucks you watched *(Coming to America)* first because *The Dukes* make a cameo in it as the homeless Prince *Akeem* gives a lot of money to, that he took from *Semmi*
It’s even more of a commentary on today’s culture in America. Sad! The worst part is the ignorance and apathy of most US citizens.
At one time Americans understood that the oligarchs are not your friends and do not have your best interests at heart.
This was a fun movie to watch. I really enjoy your reactions. If you're on a Christmas binge, may I suggest the song Father Christmas by the Kinks.
I think you would love the movie Crash. Eddie Murphy has some classics. Can I suggest Harlem Nights, Life & Coming to America? You’re one of the most insightful reactors I’ve seen 🫶🏾
Is there a problem officers?
Why do people lose their minds over blackface.
Do you want the long or short of it? You could probably do 5 min of research and figure it out. Start with minstrel shows.
There's a great reason, but I'm not going to write a term paper explaining it to you. Look at the history of it and you'll learn something new.
@TylerD288 no I won't, like I said, I already know.
