Rita’s mother (Sheryl Lee Ralph) was Moesha’s mother and currently plays Mrs. Howard on Abbott Elementary. That’s a popular American Sitcom about an inner-city (Philly) Elementary school. You 2 would LOVVVVVEE IT! Highly recommend. I’m kinda surprise you don’t already watch it.
Fun fact (about me not the film lol) When this movie came out it’s what made me start to take singing seriously. I spent all day trying to get my vocals right
I was a teenager with dreams of being a singer back when it came out. And even to this day, despite singing not being my main job, the line ‘If singing is all you think about when you wake up in the morning, you’re meant to be a singer girl’ has stayed with me. One day I will make it a reality❤️❤️❤️
When this movie was filmed from May 1993 to August 1993 , Lauryn Hill was 18 Years Old, Ryan Toby was 16 Years Old and Jennifer Love Hewitt was 14 Years Old
Lauryn Hill was definitely on the rise at this time. The Fugee's first album dropped in '94, not long after this movie released. It's such a different vibe than the first one, which was more of a crime comedy fish-out-of-water flick... This one got less favorable reviews than the first one, but honestly as time has gone on, this movie is probably the more memorable of the two. I love this flick.
Bay Area subscriber here. lol. eust lik most large cities, SF has its issues but if you come as a tourist, you will love and enjoy it! Feel free to reach out if you guys plan on visiting. Can send many suggestions for you. :)
You should absolutely react to the reunion they did earlier this year. It was awesome. Then you can watch Pentatonix doing ‘Joyful, Joyful’ live, which was a tribute like performance to the final performance of this movie.
Right!? I’m from San Francisco too and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world! It has its issues like most big cities but gets a bad rap because of the political climate.
Rita's mom in this flick is played by Sheryl Lee Ralph... After this flick, she ended up on "Moesha" as the mom, and is now a regular on "Abbott Elementary"..... And yes, it's a huge irony that her character detests singing, because Ralph is an accomplished singer in her own right lol.
One of my all-time fave films!!!! I loved the original but the sequel, to me, was even better! To this is day, if I channel hop and it’s on TV, that’s me done til the end of the film! O Happy Day is seriously one of the most joyous moments ever in film❤❤❤❤
Fun fact, one of the kids in the choir is played by Deedee Magno (the voice of Pearl). She said the line about all boy choir when they talked about entering the competition
So Whoopi did sing in the first one but not in the second... But she reunited with the cast on the daytime talk show "the view" and sang there... And sister Mary Robert is dressed that way because her vows are different from the nuns dressed like sister Mary Clarence and sister Mary Patrick..
Recently the cast went on The View to perform Joyful Joyful with Whoopi Goldberg for the anniversary of this movie. It was very emotional, amd definitely worth a watch!
Yes, Whoopi Goldberg absolutely CAN sing and yes, she also sang all of her parts in both Sister Act movies, with the exception of the "la la la la la la la la la" part in this movie, which is the only part in either movie that she didn't sing. On the other hand, actress Wendy Makkena, who played the quiet, shy nun, Sister Mary Robert, did NOT sing her parts. All of her parts were sung by Andrea Robinson. I still love her sweet character though.
what's the point doing something that puts food on the table, if your life sucks because of it. That's If you don't live your life, what's the point in living.
I’m from San Francisco. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It does have its issues like most large cities but unfortunately the political culture of today has made it out to be horrific. I assure you, it’s not.
It's so nice to see others getting as emotional as I do at my favorite movies. I'm over here crying with you two. Also, your "round of applause" and "seal of approval" moves were adorably geeky. I love how perfect you two are for each other ❤❤😂 Oh and finally, I dunno if that baby has been on camera before but that's one adorable child lol Way to go, you two! 😂
lets help jane fam channel! create a playlist jane and everyone leave it on quiet when they go to sleep to build up the hours :) whats the family channel Jane? cants see in the notes
This is the whole song (His Eye is On the Sparrow). It’s a staple on Gospel radio to this day. If y’all haven’t heard it the whole album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is a CLASSIC! ua-cam.com/video/k7Pk5YMkEcg/v-deo.htmlsi=2q7zQEk0su2ZCs_l
You don't teach anymore? That's a shame. Too many former teachers or nurses leaving actual careers to just sit on their ass doing reaction videos. It's a waste.
Thanks for watching this movie JV and Jane this is my favorite one cause I like in the end where We'll be Goldberg and the rest of the cast sing ain't no mountain high enough together.❤❤
The role of the German cook was actually created because Whoopie lost a bet. There used to be this German TV show, which was a mix of a talkshow with famous guests and a game show with regular people, it was called "Wetten, dass.." which translates to, "I bet that..." So, people would send it there bets, like " I bet I can jump over 50 burning candles with my BMX" or sth like that, hoping to make it to the show. Then the host would ask the celebrity if they think that person could actually do what they say, and the person would have to prove their claim. So, the celebrity could either win or lose by saying yes/no depending on the outcome. Anyway, Whoopie was at that TV show, I guess to promote the first Sister Act, and she lost, so the TV show host became a role in her next movie, which was Sister Act 2. And because it's the 90s and what better way to show he's German, they overdo it with the sausage stuff xD
Definitely the grandma in Wedding Crashers. First time I heard her voice there and re--watched this movie, I googled and was so happy to make the connection. Love this movie!
I was in the middle of a different video and switched IMMEDIATELY to this. One of my favorite movies of all time.
Same exact here! 😂
Same. In fact, I'm supposed to be editing, and I'm already way behind schedule lol...
Same
Right?! And no one ever reacts to this one!!
SAME
I don’t care what anyone says this is one of the best movies ever!
AGREED. Whoopi said in an interview they're trying to get Sister Act 3 in production some time soon.
That’s gonna suck ass
Just gonna be another woke movie because she and the rest of the view are so high above the rest of us
Much better than the first one.

Whoopi can sing lol

THIS 👏MOVIE 👏 IS 👏SO👏 GOOOOODDDDD!!!!
32:24 when Whoopi whipped around, that was a genuine reaction. She didn’t know he was going hit that.😂
I came here to say that. The note was kept secret so the reactions were real.
SF is still fun!!
Good catch Jane, yeah that is the kid from City High
Yes, Ryan Toby is his name.
You should absolutely react to the reunion they did earlier this year. It was awesome. Then you can watch Pentatonix doing ‘Joyful, Joyful’ live, which was a tribute like performance to the final performance of this movie.
This movie is the best
Yall have to see their reunion on The View!!
YES PLEASE!
Really good one.
Hi from the Bay Area! San Francisco isn’t perfect, but it’s absolutely my favorite city. I love it here.
Right!? I’m from San Francisco too and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world! It has its issues like most big cities but gets a bad rap because of the political climate.
Ya'll that is absolute Whoopi singing lol she's a broadway icon
Whoopi Goldberg does sing in both 1 and 2
Oh we are watching. Cpt. Pachenko 🤣🤣🤣

Wow. I normally love y'all. But geez, you guys talked way to much!!!
I agree! They are usually great but they literally talked over half the movie!
That's Grandpa 😂😂 that was funny
47:24 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fun Fact : @34:00 The young lady who says “ Air Head “ is Whoopi Goldberg’s Daughter Alex Martin.
Fun fact, one of the kids in the choir is played by Deedee Magno (the voice of Pearl). She said the line about all boy choir when they talked about entering the competition
Loved this movie! Thanks for reacting. We sang this entire movie so many times in my high school choir. We had so much fun!!!
Fugees formed before this movie
I love the shoutout for the queens of R&B Xscape & SWV. Also, the shoutout for City High!
back in the days where Woopy was a normal person =D
So Whoopi did sing in the first one but not in the second... But she reunited with the cast on the daytime talk show "the view" and sang there... And sister Mary Robert is dressed that way because her vows are different from the nuns dressed like sister Mary Clarence and sister Mary Patrick..
One of my favorite movies growing up. So good!!! 😊
This is literally one of my favorite movies of all time!!😊so nostalgic!
Recently the cast went on The View to perform Joyful Joyful with Whoopi Goldberg for the anniversary of this movie. It was very emotional, amd definitely worth a watch!
The City High pull was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Not many people make the connection (at least no reactor I have seen)
My favorite sister act movie. I saw this one before the first one
I didn't see any link to her channel. Am I missing something?
Captain PACHENKO! 🤣🤣🤣
RIP sisters and "mother superior" Maggie Smith.
Too bad Sister Act 3 will not be the same without her.
It's not Gasta Paradise? Maybe it's Amish Paradise, lol
Rita Watson’s mom Sheryl Lee Ralph is a broadway star, the mother of Moesha, and now, Barbara of Abbott Elementary!
Gangsta's Paradise is from Dangerous Minds
whoopi is actually singing
The greatest movie of all time as far as music goes you know what I'm saying
Dangerous Minds (1995) might be the movie with "troubled inner city teens" you were remembering.
This is a Cult Classic...
I never knew there was end credits scenes like this. The never show them when this is on tv
We need the karate kid with Jackie and jaiden asap
❤😢😢😢😢

You really need like 5 channels and 2 patreons?
what's the point doing something that puts food on the table, if your life sucks because of it. That's If you don't live your life, what's the point in living.
