Hi, and thank you for highlighting this orchid. I have the Mendenhall version. I'm growing mine in Pon and seldom watering, and she's growing so well. And her leaves with the burgundy spots are absolutely beautiful.
I have this one. I thought it had a virus or was in too strong an area of sun when I kept seeing the leaves with some red on them.😂😂. Mine came with three leaves and almost immediately pushed out a new one, and then pushed out a bud for another just a few months later. It was in spag moss, so I repotted it in fresh moss with the appearance of the new growth. Keeping up with watering needs can be a challenge, so I check it every day. It seems to like its location and is doing well. I hope to see a spike next spring.🤞🏻👀😊 Great information, as always, Peter. Thank you!
oh that is exciting , I can't wait to hear if you get your flower spike , I am too heavy handed with water to plant in Sphagnum moss lol .. I drown everything in it 🤣
My two new Mendenhalls are already making new roots after only one month of ownership so I was thinking of repotting. I think it's a good time but soon it will be winter here in the northern hemisphere. One of the first ones I got had a snail that chopped down the newest bulb/leaf. The one I exchanged it with was treated with hydrogen peroxide and black tea. I was measuring the weight after watering with a digital scale, but when I do repot, I'm planning to use a clear pot. I bought two since I wanted to have a more bushy looking orchid. I think it will work if I have the oldest growths back to back.
yes that is the way to plant them for sure . A clear pot is ideal to be able to check the moisture levels and how aerated the media is staying , if the roots are growing now do the repot now , keep it nice and warm inside and it will keep growing though winter 👌
😍 it must be so amazing to be able to go see this out in the wild 💕 We will have to come visit one day to see them , you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world 🫂
Hello Peter, what interesting video,😊 I have to say I killed mine very successfully, and I will never grow this orchid again because in my opinion is a huge pain in my …lol 😂 you are so smart😊😊😊😊

🤣 sorry to hear that . They are worth trying again now you know 😘
Enjoyed your video on the Psychopsis. One of mine has had a spike for several months, yet never produces a flower. Any suggestions?
make sure it gets enough light and you don't get too much temperature fluctuations or keep moving it around . Cold can cause the buds to abort
Do you gys sell these?
no sorry we no longer have a retail section
