The museum was a great choice. (And while probably wouldn't have done well in this case, There is a concrete and concrete powder block set across the standard range of colors also available. I'm loving this project and always glad to see when a new one is available.
I haven't watched the full thing yet for the roads so maybe you change it up later, but I think white concrete sand would've looked banger as well for the roads :)
Love the precision you are putting into this. I am terrible at making straight angled lines in Minecraft. Love your technique!! The mushroom block was a great choice! Nice to see some life starting to take hold on the island!!
The part about scale is interesting. I remember visiting the Minecraft exhibition and noticing that the blocks weren't actually meter sized and thinking the blocks (and the zombies) were still huge... But they're even bigger than that!
Your videos are so informative! I always come away learning something new about archeology or ancient history. I have a question on this one, though. With all the times you mentioned Roads 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, I couldn't help wondering, where would Road 4 be? Is it the theorized road you built down towards the mainland, or is there another road that simply didn't get covered in the videos and diagrams? It would be odd to skip over a number when labeling the roads at this site, so I figure it must exist somewhere. I'm just not clear where. Any insights?
Excellent question. There is a small chunk of road in the southern end of the island that is road 4. I havent included it yet, but may touch on it next episode when we start figuring out building placements. If you open the last article i have listed "the geospacial one", located just before halfway through is a map with a bunch of red lines and youll see road chunk 4. Hope that helps!
Hey I havent seen the rest of the series yet, but i wanted to point out in case you care, you made road 3 pretty noticeably too wide. The diagonal size of a square block is √2 meters, which is like 1.41 meters, meaning that when you do 4 blocks diagonally it comes out to a like 5.5m wide road. If you find that the spacing isn't lining up. I'd do 3 blocks diagonally for road 3, since that will make it approx 4.24m wide, more similar to roads 1 and 6.
I also havent gotten to the end but by ~8:45 it really looks like that road more closely matches 3 than 6 --- the angle seemed too small between 6 and the first one you made I think. Although it is a proof of concept😅
I excellent question! I probably should have mentioned it, but the plastered roads weren’t a uniform color. They had gravel and other inclusions in them so they weren’t stark white. Though, I may experiment with concrete powder to see how it turns out.

And white terra cotta

I will probably experiment with that and see how I like it
1 meter to 1 block has always felt small. I usually do 2:1 or 1.5/1 if I'm building based on irl measurements
Hey Dask! I was just rewatching Miniminuteman again and found your channel again as well! Glad to see you're still making great content!
Hey, thanks for checking in!
@@daskalosBCE Always! I oughta catch up on your sick minecraft builds!
I like how you made those roads as straight as can be in Minecraft. Solid technique that I’m going to steal for future projects.
I agree, the mushroom and diorite combo looks the best
I like the use of the mushroom stem! Never seen it used in a build before!
daskalos likes the bone confirmed

Oo oo!! I've been waiting so impatiently for more of this!!!
Love your content man, I am not so patiently waiting for the next ancient city video!

I have to ask, on an island so small, what is the purpose of several roads? It doesn’t make much sense from my perspective.
Nvm the video answered my question

I think you should check out the Axiom mod for MC. It could help with many of these processes.
Have you considered using concrete?
