Flea is hands down one of the best bass players of his generation and Chad Smith is a very under rated drummer.

1) Walker is fortunate to have a sister like Claire. My sisters were married and gone by the time I was 6, but I did have a female friend for a few years that I could clown around with like a sister.
2) In the movie Bandslam the new band manager takes the bass player to task for dressing and acting like flea. When the bass player says:"I don't even like flea" the manager asks the bass player's name.
"Bug."
Lol. Now I have a something new to watch. Cheers.

Hey guys! Finally a reaction. Saw the Red Hots in concert back in the late 90's. Good show. Flea is a good bassist. One of his favorite bass players is(was) Chris Squire of YES. Chris set the standard for all bassists to follow. R.I.P. Mr Squire, you were THE best ever! Happy New Year 3YA! 2021 has to be better!🎧🎧

This version came out in 1989 and it added the heavy rock sound to Stevie Wonder's 1973 funk version.
The Chili Peppers were always a little out there, especially with their wardrobe (or lack thereof) choices.
Drummer Chad Smith also played with a band called Chickenfoot about 10 years ago. Chickenfoot also included Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani.
LOL @ the Toys-r-us raid. Hadn't heard that before , but, if Flea is involved, I wouldn't doubt it.

Agreed, Blood Sugar Sex Magic is one of the all time great albums, of any genre. Just amazing from beginning to end. Apache Rose Peacock is my favorite track!
First of all I want to say The Red Hot Chili Peppers ROCK! Waaaaay underrated! Not many bands can do a Stevie Wonder song justice. But they nailed it! This is what I refer to as a "Speeding Ticket" song.

Claire really loves the bass guitar in songs, so I have a suggestion. React to "Would?" from Alice in Chains. The bass is amazing in that song. Happy New Year!!!

As others have mentioned, Flea is one of the best bass players in rock music. He is also just as athletic in concert as he was in this video. The whole band in fact always bounced around, kind of like Walker in that video where he needed a neck brace. MVR (Most Valuable Reactor) for this one is Claire for her explanation of how Flea got all the stuffed animals on his pants. Walker also gave us a couple of his patented "what did I just see?" faces, which are always good for a laugh. Happy New Year you guys. Good to see you back on the interwebs making new content, and we hope we'll see more soon.
If you want to hear something completely different from this band, might I suggest "The Zephyr Song" from their 2002 album By The Way.
Brilliant Stevie Wonder cover from the late 80s. The LP Mother's Milk which features the track is quite good too. Just before they exploded into being big.
Trivia; Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist "Flea" played the character "Needles" in Back to the Future, parts 2 and 3.
Fun..we will have to check that out.
I have said this before, and I will say it again. You guys need to be in a TV sitcom. Maybe start doing vlogs about certain days of your lives just to show how interesting your lives really are because they seem pretty eventful.

Interesting song choice and pretty spot on reaction. RHCP or Red Hot Chili Peppers really liked to push the envelope in the concerts and used to perform only with socks on there privates. They have mellowed a lot since this time and this song is from the album Mothers Milk. Their next album Blood Sugar Sex Magic is a classic! It has so many hits and like Give it Away, Under the Bridge and countless others a great band from California.

RHCP is deep and fascinating well to jump into. You'll get a lot of different suggestions for their songs. Most of us have favorites, but the favorites vary from person to person. I'll be interested to see which songs each of you picks up on - and they probably will be different songs, even as close as you are.
"A rainbow puked on the video" - in the mid-80s a rainbow puked florescent color all over everything. The trend was driven at first by MTV, but then it ended up everywhere. Does anybody else remember those United Colors Of Benetton ads? They were supposed to fix racism - I wonder how that worked out.
I myself had twenty or so skinny neckties with florescent colors and patterns; my favorite was the purple and yellow tiger-striped. (Went real well with the parachute pants. Don't ask.)

Fleas biggest inspiration basswise was Les Claypool of Primus, who was arguably the best bass players of his time.
This song always reminds me of when it was used in the power rangers movie when they skate boarding but u probably too young too remember that aswell

You should check out "Throw away your television" by RHCP. The version from Live at Slane castle. A lesser know song but great none the less.
