You must hear Wolf Totem. It's, like, among the greatest things ever.
When two teens sit staring at a screen for 30 secs without blinking you know something great is happening that connects their unconscious primal core! This was so cute to watch! They were in the zone! 🤣🙏❤️
There are 3 throat singers doing it in different octaves they are playing the horses-head fiddles and yes the sound on the horse-head fiddle and the one guy plays 3 string guitar
Discovering The Hu was one of the few highlights of my 2020, they're amazing. Their entire debut album("The Gereg", I believe) is great, but if you only listen to one other song from it, make it "Wolf Totem". Also well worth checking out are their cover of Metallica's "Sad But True", as well as the song they did for the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It's called "Sugaan Essena", and while they originally wrote it in Mongolian(under the name "Black Thunder"), they recorded it for the game in an alien language created for Star Wars.

The Hu is my fave band ever. It's Hunnu Rock music.
I heard of them even before their debut album came out. This song and Wolf Totem both had millions of views on here months before the album The Gereg was released. My dad, who is in his 70's, is not impressed with most music from today's artists, but he was so blown away with The Hu that he would tell his friends at his church about them!
First came across the HU on youtube, they blew up, went on tour seen was coming to my city. SOLD OUT FAST 😵
"Wolf Totem" my favorite song of theirs, but their recent cover of "Sad But True" is darn good as well. "Shireg Shireg" is a good one for a bit softer palate.
Highly recommend Wolf Totem by The Hu and War Horse by Tengger Cavalry.

This little Mongolian band is actually one of those weird things I'm somehow familiar with (courtesy of my Mongolian friend from War Thunder game). I was really excited when I saw the title. Now, that's very interesting. Seems you have been watching the alternative version with Note traditional Instruments in die. The version we had over here in Europe was definitely more Metal, much harder. Anyway, that was good fun listening and watching and enjoying your presentation and comments. Welcome back, very glad to see the notification from you guys. I've never heard of The HU, very enjoyable. Its not only cool to listen to a young persons view of the kind of music I grew up with, (I'm now in my 60's) but to also explore new stuff with you. like this one. I will look for more of The HU. I recently discovered NINGEN ISU the song I recommend is Heartless, one of their latest, but they apperently have been around fo a long time.

This videoclip was shot putting the Hu members in 4 cardinal points of Mongolia to represent all the nation completely. Mongolia is located geographically in the North of China and in the ancient times dominated the world with Genghis Khan and Khanate and Ilkhanate empire. Instruments played on this vid are Morin Khuur, Tovshuur modified to play them standing up, Jew's Harp, Throat Singing is part of the Mongolian culture and also Uyghur, Kyrghyz, Chinese and also the Altaj tribes. Glad to see you two back. Both of you get MVR (Most Valuable Reactor) honors today for simply being back on UA-cam. This is a very cinematic song as you both pointed out--it does feel like it could be the soundtrack for a scene where the heroes are tracking the villains across the land. Of course, horses are very important in Mongolian history--IIRC I read that the Great Wall of China was constructed in part to defend the border against the Mongol hordes that rode across vast parts of Asia and terrorized every town and village they found. They were kind of like Vikings on the vast Asian steppes. Keep up the great work.

The Warning: Three teenage girls from Mexico, sisters. Their 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene, is a concept album/rock novel, which is best listened to in album order because it tells a linear story, and live because of the energy of their performance with an audience. The following links are from their 2019 concert at Foro Didi, which I consider their finest performance. Through technical difficulties, they push on giving professionals a lesson to aspire to. One particular technical issue caused a version of the second track I find more immersive than it ever was before. A failure with an acoustic guitar grants the song a whole other dimension I feel contains depth already there but certainly stronger.

No, this is Tuvan throat singing, which originated in northwest Mongolia. The monks use a different style but it is currently thought to have originated in Mongolia.
There are also Inuit throat singing tradition in current Canada and Xhosa throat singing from the Xhosa people in southern Africa among numerous other parts of the world.

Funny how they said; " their instruments had dragons" meanwhile we mostly don't have dragons in our culture and horses means a lot. And their insturments were mostly embroided with horses. (Well I'm not mongolian, Turk but we have similiar cultures, we also find wolves holy as well)

Very cool but a lot different than love it
Modern music tends to use standard quantized 4/4 drum loops and samples. Doing so takes the "human" quality out of music that shouldn't feel that way. (This does not apply to electronica, EDM, and other forms of Techno music, as it's supposed to sound that way, obviously.)

I think I read somewhere that the name has something to do with human or being human. Regardless, like Claire and Walker I like these guys. They're very different from the kind of music we in the US are used to hearing. That, to me is very refreshing
