RaingerFX Drone Rainger Demo | Secret Weapons

The Drone Rainger by RaingerFX on it's surface is a deep, angular, intimidating looking device. But in practice it's only two of those things, so lets dive into the wonderfully angular and deep sounds this digital delay and droning marvel can produce. The backbone of this piece is the droning sound produced by the pedal, rooted at a Bmin (well, B but minor in the context of this piece) with the interference dropping it to an A and the secondary note being the root D. Some fancy footwork (read: handwork) with the various switches and the fine tune control allows us to move between the different notes, adding additional drag and menace by mixing in the Drone Rainger's delay to blur the shifts. To build this sound into a world enveloping thing we are EQing the drone's base tone with the Chase Bliss Audio Condor and capturing sections of it into the Chase Bliss Audio MOOD, where we further pitch shift to build new chords and melodies from our base drone. It's just drones on drones over here. From the MOOD we are building space with nearly full wet mixes of the Meris Polymoon (adding extra movement with the slow phaser mode) and the Mercury 7.
For the guitars we are keeping it much simpler. Harmony Silhouette into the 1981 Inventions DRV, Benson Vinny Head and then to the Drone Rainger for all delay (you can hear those great run away pitch shifting moments in the mix) and into the Mercury 7 for reverb.

Chase Bliss Audio puts dip switches on their pedals. Both Condor and Mood are in this video and can be configured this way. I think you are referring to the Condor (it's discontinued).
