This could replace a bunch of devices I have in front of my amp currently! Thanks for posting this! This site is great! :)
Yeah, I noticed that too. Side is way harder than it looks! I mean, it's not hard to play slide, but it's hard to play slide in TUNE. Tim does it perfectly.
Excellent video and absolutely great playing! I was considering one of these, and now I might just get one. Thank you for taking the time to make this, it was very helpful!
With Tim's playing, listening to these demos is just pure fun for me... Question 1: Can you put two or more of these effects into a preset? Question 2: Will one of the rackmount units (DSP-series, H-series, Orville, Eclipse...) get me more flexibility in regards of designing my own effects? EDIT: 12:33 Wow, so lovely
The Line 6 M5 pedal offers MIDI functionality but a limit of one effect at a time. Still, the effects it offers includes trichorus and Dimension D modulation which is more than most at the same price point. Worth considering for those whose budgets can't stretch all the way to an H9.

Tim, great video so glad you did this one. I have had my eye on Eventide gear for awhile. Can you comment on how the H9 compares to some of that older rack gear or even the Eclipse? I am mainly looking for the diatonic harmonies, delays, reverbs etc... just the basics really. The units can obviously do hifi, but there are some fantastic retro sounding low fi reverb and delay tones, which I use most often as a matter of fact. Also nice G&L Doheny! Those pickups look aftermarket though with some writing on them? What are they?
Excellent video. Question on the routing. So I see the manual says you can connect guitar to input one and effects loop send of an amp to input two. Then connect the h9 output one to amp input and h9 output two to the effects return. Then use the pre post routing in a preset to change. Question is: is the pre / post setting able to be set on each effect within a preset or is it set at the preset level and all effects within the preset get the same setting? I would think the effects within the preset can be set independently. As to set modulation effects to pre so they go to amp input and time based effects to loop return. Then save the preset. Sound about right? I am trying to find that answer before I purchase one. Thank you for your time. 🤘
Tim - as always INCREDIBLE vid. I have had an H9 for several years. Love mine, but have not even scratched the surface. TOday - as a result of your vid - I am going to spend some quality time with this pedal. You mentioned several times that you were running in front of the amp - am I correct? Distortion on your amp or a pedal before the H9? Thank you so very much for your great videos and assistance to guitarists and musicians. Appreciate it!

I wanted one until I saw a friend at a gig attempting to switch presets multiple times in the middle of a song using a sideways foot technique to hit both switches at the same time. Not for me, but it sounds great and I bet it's killer for studio use tho! For DSP stuff strymon is king in my opinion.
Juan Fichtl I have 4 H9’s on my board. For all 9 of my current pedals, I use a Boss ES-8 switcher. After you set up your presets in it, just stomp on one button on the ES-8 and all of the H9 patches are automatically changed through MIDI, along with activating/deactivating whatever else I might want in the chain on my board for a given song/passage/whatever. But to be honest, the upper row of my board is all H9’s and other than my JangleBoxJB3 for Ricks and my mini-wah , the rest of the bottom row is redundant, thanks to the H9’s. (Sorry for such a lengthy reply.)
Ballerina is a Vai thing, try single note runs. It was tailored for a specific technique from one of Vai's songs on Passion and Warfare by the same name.
12 years ago I sweared I liked my sound better when my Timefactor was on line even if turned off (just buffering, and “eventiding” things up in the background). Kinda getting me closer to that beautiful, lush Lanois-Eno-ish glossy but velvety sound, or some ColdP**y shimmery dimension... And that was when everyone seemed to look for true bypass only pedals (LOL). It seems I wasn’t entirely wrong ^_- Cheers maestro, keep it up!!
@@rejikumar8071 Turning your electric into sounding accoustic is not something this pedal will do, although it has a pretty powerful parametric EQ effect that might take you closer...
I have the same view with my Timefactor. Any other delay feels like an awkward blend between wet and dry. Maybe it's just what I'm used to. Also have the H9 Max. It's not going anywhere!

This is just making me want to get one - even though I can’t imagine why I would need _more_ gear.
Appreciate it!
..And the used prices on H9’s just skyrocketed! Love your videos, always great and useful content!
Good Job. I just got a H9 Max. I play a Robin Trower Style Blues Rock sound. This will be Great. I also have a Volume pedal I hope to use with this to control the speed etc on chorus and Uni Vibe. Keep up the good work...Im a Old school Guitar Player that 1st Album was The Whole Darn Family Has Arrived. Im the guy driving the Rolls. Hope to release some of my New Music next year. Das klingt unglaublich gut!!!
I wanted one until I saw a friend at a gig attempting to switch presets multiple times in the middle of a song using a sideways foot technique to hit both switches at the same time. Not for me, but it sounds great and I bet it's killer for studio use tho! For DSP stuff strymon is king in my opinion.

I have 4 H9’s on my board.
Every video here is like a music lesson for me I love what you play
6:24 Great riff. Kind of like the Funky Munsters.12:33 Reminds me of Edge.
Ballerina is a Vai thing, try single note runs.
It was tailored for a specific technique from one of Vai's songs on Passion and Warfare by the same name.
I like the fact you use the divided by 13 amp as a pedal stand
great channel. I just got my H9 3 days ago. WOW!
Thank you! I agree just so musical
Valeu Kleber! Muito boa exposição.
Iv watch 100 guitar pedal reviews but I’m only taking your word for it because your the 🐐
12 years ago I sweared I liked my sound better when my Timefactor was on line even if turned off (just buffering, and “eventiding” things up in the background).
Kinda getting me closer to that beautiful, lush Lanois-Eno-ish glossy but velvety sound, or some ColdP**y shimmery dimension...
And that was when everyone seemed to look for true bypass only pedals (LOL).
It seems I wasn’t entirely wrong ^_-
Cheers maestro, keep it up!!
Can I get some acoustic guitar tones in it?
@@rejikumar8071 Turning your electric into sounding accoustic is not something this pedal will do, although it has a pretty powerful parametric EQ effect that might take you closer...
Great playing Tim... I subbed! 😁👍
And no link! Awesome. Actually someone you can trust on UA-cam.
Do I understand right, that all needed for those great sounds is a guitar, a H9 and a clean Amp ?
I have the same view with my Timefactor. Any other delay feels like an awkward blend between wet and dry. Maybe it's just what I'm used to. Also have the H9 Max. It's not going anywhere!
It’s a decent pedal, you would need at three(3) for pedal board.verb, delay and modulation..
