I've actually been keeping these last 2 SeaMonkey videos in my watch later cause I eventually wanna get the kit again one day & try it out. Y'all get me so excited, especially since it's been a WHOLE YEAR to have done what no one has done before, with everything that you've learned along the way. These videos are SO HELPFUL to those, like me, who want to care for these creatures somewhat properly, & I really appreciate these shares more than you know!😊😊❤️ This was AWESOME!!😊😊
Awesome, thanks Dulce!! They truly are the most low-maintenance pets ever, as long as they have the proper growing conditions. Some people recommend aerating the tank, but we've never done that and ours are doing just fine. Best of luck when you decide to get your Sea Monkeys!
Such a great video! Love the birthday gifts, hopefully they love them too. That company sends the most meaningful things, the artwork really is great too. I can see more of a close-up of their faces, and I thought I saw a couple of smiles. They are so much bigger and are getting really fast!
so cool that they are still alive...very happy to know that...banana treat? so awesome!! look at them go!! enjoyed the video update a lot guys!! thanks for letting us know!! oh wow the light helps so much on seeing them!! i love it..:-)
Thank you! 🤗 They are cute little creatures, and they seemed to really enjoy the "banana treat" which looked and smelled more like seaweed than bananas, lol!
I remember raising those sea monkeys when I was a kid. I don’t remember how long they lived. But it was fun. The suspense almost killed me each day. So fun!!!.
Thank you for responding to me and for giving me the correct website information. Also, your sea-monkeys are looking great and so beautiful I love the way they sway in the water when they're swimming it's awesome and 3 of my 4 children absolutely love them too. I hope yal have a blessed day and thank you again
We're happy to help, and welcome to our channel Angee! We've gotten to know the folks over at Transcience in the past year and found them to be very responsive to our questions. They are an American company and just all-around nice people. When we made our original Sea-Monkeys video, we included an Amazon link, and the company reached out to let us know that they'd been having trouble with inferior product being sold there under their name (but it wasn't their product, and it didn't meet their own quality standards.) Since then, we have been advising our viewers to purchase Sea-Monkeys directly from them. Anyway, we're hoping your kiddos enjoy their Sea-Monkeys (at least 3 of 4, ha!) Wishing you all the best, Abby & Keith
I got sea monkeys twice several months ago, and failed each time... So, being the stubborn person I am, I bought a tube of Brine Shrimp (aka sea money) eggs from Amazon - I measured out aquarium salt ratio to the amount of water that is in both tanks and mixed it well... and I put a pinch of eggs in each tank the morning I got the eggs , expecting nothing to happen.. The next afternoon, I had / have more sea monkey babies than I know what to do with.. The next time I get eggs that are advertised as a 90% hatch rate, I'm gonna believe them. 😂😂😂 As for the tanks, I use an air stone in each one, set to he lowest pressure, which adds a tiny bit of gentle movement and aerates the surface a bit to allow CO2 / oxygen exchange... I don't have them near a window, especially since it's winter now and the air around the windows is cold... and as for algae food, I've been growing live green algae using at least 4 glass containers set on my widow sill (because I knew I was going to try growing sea monkeys again).. and when the babies need food, I'll take some of that live algae and put it in the sea monkey tanks... I'd rather feed them live algae over that powdery algae stuff that can foul the water if too much is added.. 😁
It was super exciting to check this one out again 😊😊 I plan to get the lighted lid as well. Right now I just set a small flashlight on top when I wanna check them out, but that lid would be totally cool/useful to have😊😊❤️
Thanks Dulce! We often use the flashlight on our phones to backlight the tank and look for tiny babies which are SO hard to see at first. It also helps to keep them in a window where they're easier to view, as long as it's in indirect sunlight.
they are going so strong! i also have sea monkeys the next morning within a day my sea monkeys hatched! i saw around 7-10 but sadly 2 days after i was very sad because for some weird reason i just saw one sea monkey :( it is currently day 3 and my one and only sea monkey is still going strong i'm pretty sure there is still eggs in my tank but i just hope those eggs have not died i am so confused in how my other sea monkeys died and i just want my only sea monkey to live a good life and a very long life.
@@Our80sLife i just got aqua dragons just like sea monkeys but different name those were the only refill pack in my area so i hope alot of them will hatch
Yep, they're still a thing! In fact, they've become quite popular lately thanks to social media. Our original Sea Monkeys are now almost 1.5 years old and going strong!
There is no need to clean the tank. Sea Monkeys are very easy pets! The algae that grows on the bottom of the tank is actually a food source for them, so it's a good thing. When the water evaporates, you just need to add fresh water occasionally, just to the water level of the tank. We also recommend using a product called Plasma 3 - here's another video about that: ua-cam.com/video/HqKSCOWg1FY/v-deo.html
My dad had these when he was a kid and I really want to raise some myself! I am curious though, where did you get the lid with the light from? I can't seem to find it. Great video!
Hi Kathryn, thanks for watching! The light-up aquarium cover is available on the official Sea-Monkeys website for $8.00 - here's a link: www.sea-monkeys.com/store/
You can reorder the food if you run out, but you only need to feed them 1 tiny scoop per week. The food should last a LONG time. Also, you'll notice some green algae forming at the bottom of your tank which serves as an additional food source for the Sea Monkeys.
How do you keep the water clean. Do you put purified/ distilled water in lukewarm? How often do you add water or do you add water purifier from the company?
The kit comes with a water purifier packet, which you'll only need to use once. After that, we just add bottled spring water as needed, just to the fill line in the tank. No need to clean the tank or purify the water.
No worries, it’s totally normal. That green stuff will naturally occur over time as part of the habitat. We’ve observed our Sea-Monkeys eating it, so it must also be a food source for them. Good luck with your new pets!
We keep a bottle of spring water near the tank so it will be the same temperature. All you have to do is gently pour in some water whenever the tank level gets below the designated line. That's it!
I have some good news!!!! So sadly at the 17th day one of my sea monkeys had 3 kids, only 1 of the kids is alive still. But today my sea monkey fgave birth to around 17 babies!!!!! They are all healthy and happy. The oldest 6 are 3 months old but it feels like so much older!!! Tip: sometimes it's better to use distilled water😉
Yes, we simply add some fresh bottled spring water occasionally as the tank's water evaporates. We also recommend purchasing Plasma III to keep the water at the proper salt level - see our previous video for details about that: ua-cam.com/video/HqKSCOWg1FY/v-deo.html
@@abbyunicorns5366 As your water evaporates over time, just add bottled water as needed. You can also add Plasma III to regulate the salt content. We have a video about that here: ua-cam.com/video/HqKSCOWg1FY/v-deo.html
I keep mine in a kritter keeper with an air stone and saltwater (1.25 tsp sea salt per cup of water) and they get knocked around in there but they tend to do better like that because strong currents exist in nature anyways.
@@Our80sLife it's okay if you don't feed them to your fish you deserve them to be your babies I think they love you🥰 and don't stop uploading because we love to see more sea monkeys vidoe
