Looks like an older guy had that then died and his family didnt know what to do. sent it to the scrapyard. Probably under a carport for many years. Drove it every once and a while. KEY OVER THE VISOR?
WOW! What an amazing trip down memory lane!! I owned a 1970 F100 with the 302 for many years. It was a good old truck all things considered. I mean it had drum brakes all the way around and I just about lost all my marbles coming down from Clingman's Dome in the Smokies. Everything you're showing in your video... even the sound of the hood being raised, tugged at my heart strings.
Nice find. Brakes work, engine is running. Needs a new fuel tank, new spark plugs, oil change, new belts and a cleaning. But the Rambler got me, 1963 or 1964?
Man, that is so reminiscent of my first Ford truck! Full size, long bed, 302 with C-6 transmission, power steering, and not much else. Very basic daily driver and easy to work on. Drove it a couple of years and traded for a 73 Beetle with a 63 engine and transmission.
@@CTmoog Definitely the Beetle! It brought my second son home from the hospital when he was born. The little 63 engine was surprisingly good despite the lack of horsepower.
With lumber prices these days, the plywood in back oughta pay you back for the truckling... Rambler was one of the companies that merged to form AMC...
How? How is something so beautiful just sitting in a scrap yard? I would save them all if I could. Guys around here would pay 20k for that old sweetheart.
-- OK... you've got to be kidding me right? That wasn't a rescue, you went and picked the thing up. They practically loaded it on the trailer for you and then you drove it home. Let's NOT go all drama queen! It does appear to be in excellent condition for a Florida truck though, I'll give you that! - Max Giganteum
I never thought I'd hear "Did you ever hear of a Rambler?" I was sitting in the front passenger seat of one in the 60s when my mother had an accident, and my head went through the windshield causing me to get 63 stitches to close up my face.
-- Hand sand (wet) the paint progressively with 600, 800 & 1200 grit sandpaper and then polish it out. It will probably turn out far better than you think. Best wishes! - Max Giganteum
You guys never heard of Rambler?? OMG Babes in the woods. You are so lucky to be searching south of the border- try finding anything decent here in Canada. Love your work and videos.
Un buen proyecto. 😱 Un vehículo de 1971. Ojalá lo puedas volver a revivir. Ése ("escarabajo" en español) que está detrás, también lo veo bonito para restaurar.
Was that a lizard hopping across the plug-wire caps on the engine of that Rambler? XD 18:59 Whoa, inboard disc-brakes, right next to the pumpkin! Gotta be military. That Rambler is definitely worth coming back for, AMC is gone, so we won't see it's like again! Great shape too. Pretty dang sweet truck! Could probably save that hood by welding up where it rotted out on the underside, wouldn't have to look factory under there.
As an 18 yr old kid I hired on at Ford in 72. 12hrs. a day 7 days a wk. I dreamed of owning one of those trucks. Been retired now 24yrs and drive a Silverado. Life is strange. I wonder if a lot of those vehicles are flood damaged they look too good to be scrap.
Looks like an older guy had that then died and his family didnt know what to do. sent it to the scrapyard. Probably under a carport for many years. Drove it every once and a while. KEY OVER THE VISOR?
No key, just ordered a new set off amazon for $12
Sounds like a good assessment
Happens more often than we think
That is one real find. These 70's are hard to find. It is a keeper.
Another truck to pull apart and never see again, no doubt.
I could see why you would say that....but you're wrong. This one is a survivor. Back on the road in two weeks. 🤑🤑🤑
We shall see, it will be a great achievement for you
Big bro T showing up is always a treasure
man, that is a nice truck !
Thanks buddy!😎

Thanks man! The Rambler is a 63 I think.
CT the Ford 100 Explorer 1971, is very well preserved and the Rambker, not to mention, you should get that one too. Greetings
Thanks buddy! we might do that! 😃😃😃
@@CTmoog yes rescue that rambler❤
Forget the Rambler... rescue the MUSTANG! What are you guys thinking?!?
- Max Giganteum
@@MaxGiganteum the rambler is more rare!!!
That is about the coolest junkyard I’ve seen in awhile! Most of the yards near me just have 10-15 year old cars that get crushed every few months.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun day. I can't wait to go back! Thank you!

CT you are a trip to watch, every adventure is like you have never done a recovery before.
Every rescue is different. This one was pretty easy compared to others I've done.

Mustang there 😍
I know! =) It's pretty cool!
3:25 1978 collector's edition Corvette. I'd be all over that one. And the '63 Rambler American right in front of it.
Should buy that trailer too, its got a wench on the front
I wish my trailer came with a wench, it came with a winch instead :/
That Old Mac 1010 chain saw in back will run
Rusty bus Simon Skardon ❤
Its a 72 going by the grille. Not bad at all.
Did you invest some money in it?
"Guys, we need to talk..."... err... no more new car projects... how it was :)
This one had to be saved. I'm glad I did it's awesome! =) Work on the others will continue.
I’m surprised you haven’t heard of Rambler.
Nice truck guys
I bet you’ve heard of AMC

You can buff the bumper it will come out like I said dang your lucky
Yes man it's going to buff out nice!
My father has a ‘71 Ranger, 1 owner, Bahama Blue 💙

Fully optioned explorer. Rare and hard to find.
Hi CT
Why are you getting a truck from a junk yard. When the volks wagon is not finished yet?
This one needed to be saved. It's in great shape. The Ghia is a long term project. Life is short have fun and don't worry. 🙂

Ok ty
That's a 72 grill 2:09

not bad fam had two tone green
damn bro, you couldn't resist. lost focus on the Karman Ghia project. coulda used that money on an existing project.
Why not get the red step side ford
Those hub caps are about 78-81 Ford truck hubcaps original would be the dog dish style
Good to know...I will keep an eye out for them. It might look good with the correct caps.
Where is that place? I would like to know, they have some good vehicles.
Carolina Blue 🫵🏾🫵🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯💯
What happened to I’m gonna finish something! So sad.
What about the blue beetle behind the truck? Save it.
Didn't Clint Eastwood drive that truck in one of his movies? It's a great find.
First bug was a super beetle 73 model the second is a standard 72 model beetle
Where is that place..i was looking for the porche
Leaving the gas cap off is the worse thing you can do when you park it .
Rambler was built by AMC, AmericanMotor Company. They selling jeeps before they went under. The truck V8 maybe a 360 cubic inch.
To many damn projects
I love a scrap yard ,but most of the ones in the UK now you can't go into they get the part for you or it's on the shelf.
They're communists trying to destroy old cars so they can push ev crap
Dam ct your lucky I drive that truck home on a boat tank I wish I know about that I go and grab it drive it to Palmbay it will make it
Hey Atom! Yes, you probably could! It's a survivor!
Rusty bus Simon Skardon 59:26
Finish.
Perhaps the coil was disconnected because the ignition is on - doesn’t that burn it out?
Yes, I think you might be right. It must have been like that for a long time because the connector was dirty.
Iam looking for a truck I clean it up pod 15 it and drive it fix the rust that’s it
This is the best one I've found so far. It's super clean. Should be back on the road in a couple weeks.
The undercarriage
JYD! Is the trailer that was next to it for sale?
Yes, everything is for sale!
Great vid. Watching the series now. What scrapyard is this?
