She transitioned from folk and folk rock/metal to folk pop. She has a great voice and I also like many of her voiced songs, specially from the beginning, but my favourite ones are her instrumental songs. In any case, we still can enjoy her old songs, and now other people (and we) can enjoy new styles 🙃
This song is definitely not the kind of music I usually listen to, but with this instruments it's super-creative and super-cool. Love that. 🙂

@@jimpickens4067 Patty has been leaning more and more pop over the years in general. I don't know the bagpipe girl but she is playing redpipes (electric pipes) and they sound nothing like bagpipes, the gurdy is definitely highly stylized to not really sound like a gurdy either :)
I'm thinking "what did I just listen to ? not my kind of music usually, but that was good fun and cool" Goes to show these two are quite versatile !

Ugh, sorry to go against the grain of comments, but I don't care for this new modern hip hop/pop sound from you. It seems it's popular enough to stay, but please keep producing the older, medieval style (like "over the hills") as well.
This is such a fun, light, relaxing song. I have a feeling the chorus will be dancing through my head all day.

I'm not into pop music but it's bloody catchy, I love electric hurdy-gurdy for years I'm found of Camecrude project on Cioran Records, it's crazy.

I'm not keen, way way too repetitive and almost came across "rappy" later on
I agree that’s repetitive but in my opinion it’s still well done I’ll explain why:
The song is around 2 minutes long, considering that the average duration is 4 minutes this one is kinda short but it has an intro part and there’s space for little gurdy solos while the bagpipes have more of a background usage that happens in the second part of the piece. The chorus part is repetitive to make the piece the most catchy as possible (which is not always a bad thing).
About the rappy part I enjoyed it a lot cause it gives more contrast. But that’s my personal taste.
I really liked the old Patty music which was more “””serious””” than catchy but i also like these songs too.
Old fan of both. Please less pop.

Love the pipes and gurdy combination. The dynamic start was awesome, the rest was for my taste too repetetive ... I wish there was more of that parts like the begining. The green screen/focus seems also a bit too off than what should be possible to look more natural but who knows. Either way its obvious you were having lot of fun and that is the important part :)

Definitely not expecting this. The instrument combination gives it a unique and fun vibe and the lyrics pretty much promise to become an ear worm that will get stuck on repeat in your head.

It's a common phenomenon that musicians tend to turn to pop as they become more popular. Unfortunately, today that is an indicator of how popular a person is.

You might by sure, but you are wrong. Pattys "management" is Patty - she is an independent artist, who simply expresses her creativity in different kinds of music and nowadays it's pop or dancepop. Maybe that will change in the future, we will see. Whatever she feels like creating and who can command creativity?
@@Ado_rpg You might be wrong as well mate. Allmost all of her newer tracks are written by or cowritten by producer Felix Heldt. It wouldn't be the first time an artist is dragged into something they're not fully behind in the hope of commercial succes..
