- We challenged our favorite staff write not to lie to his girlfriend for one week. Is it that hard not to tell the truth? What are some things you lie about without even noticing the lie? What happened when I couldn't tell a lie since The Infographics Show decided to give me this funny challenge of NO LYING! Let's see how she deals with this prank.

Honestly in life you’re gonna be forced to lie because in this day in age you really can’t just go into a store or any public place and tell the truth without having someone pull a gun on you or cause a scene society is so messed up right now but if it’s a rude thing the best thing to do is to keep your mouth shut about it sure you can tell people you’re having a bad day but you don’t have to explain why

Actually technacilly that would be a lie of omission. There are several ways to lie to someone, not just the basic direct deception.

As a clerk that asks "how was your day" or "how's it going" I truly do mean it and hope you are doing well. If anyone ever has a had day I am always willing to be an ear (as long as I don't have a line waiting).
For me it's the opposite. I am just there to check out your items and work on my workload. Since there's so much to do, I'm not very interested in hearing about a stranger's problems. Not because I'm not empathetic, I'd gladly listen to stranger's talk about their problems outside of work, but simply because I'm just there to work. The "how are you?" is simply showing professionalism.

@Shiny Charm Owner I appreciate the concern but it isn't as bad as you may think, full-time, benefits, bonuses, holiday pay, vacation and paid time off, the pay isn't fantastic but it has advantages over a "normal" job. Until a job is available that pays significantly enough better with all of those comes around (and my house is paid off in Feb) I'll keep it for a bit longer

There is a difference between not lying and being blunt. You can still not lie about something while making it not sound quite so harsh.

This video was just uploaded while I was searching for a random Infographics Show video to view, so I'm unexpectedly early for this video.
I actually admire your courage, this is something most people never think about, even less try. It is amazing to realise how poorly constructed our society is and sometimes it is necessary to risk comfort of your life to find the real truth, you decided to take that risk and that is very inspiring

So....friend shared this post with me, and in the spirit of honesty, there are plenty of ways of being honest without being rude or so severely blunt. There were so many better ways to handle your examples while still being honest.

Can you make an example? If you are absolutely annoyed by some kid it wouldn't be the truth to say it polite because you have to tell exactly what you feel like.
@@500deadend9 maybe to you, but you can still convey the truth without being rude about, I would have either turned to her and asked her to kindly keep her kid in line and that it was disrespectful to the other guests to allow the behavior to continue. One is perfectly capable of feeling an intense emotional state and not letting it control their actions.
The challenge was to tell the truth, not convey/express your emotions based in that truth, the two are not mutually inclusive.
I gotta say your girlfriend catches on very very quickly. Most people would not realize what was going on and although she does know you do challenges, she was still rather quick with her guess. Smart!

Definitely not the direction I was expecting this challenge to take. I was assuming the girlfriend, upon finding out he couldn't lie, would spend a week asking every question imaginable dealing with commitment, loyalty and everything related to their relationship.
