Honestly, it comes with practice. In the Army, we were trained to exaggerate our forward can’t so that when we got on the firing line, we were used to leaning forward. If you buy a gun and continue training with it, practice exaggerating bending forward at the hips and keeping your back strait.
You actually did great for a first time shooter, standing and in the high ready position. Honestly, rarely does anyone have a perfect posture when shooting. Range shooting, competition shooting or even in real combat. Standing, kneeling , sitting, and laying down in the prone position doesn’t matter; whatever feels most comfortable for you is how you should shoot. When you tried to aim the with the pistol. You can almost tell it’s a first time shooter, because many people aim with one eye open, instead of both eyes being opened. Whats funny is Im actually supposed to be a left handed shooter because of my dominant eye. However, I feel more comfortable shooting with the right side vs shooting on my left side. I always tell new shooters to picture the weapon as an extension of their arm, always keep the weapon on safe, and muzzle pointed up n down range(muzzle awareness). I haven’t ever seen anyone draw standing square, squat, with a straight back ever, lol. That’s just too uncomfortable to do, lol. But it’s fun to point out things we see because how were trained. It’s actually quite funny watching ourselves after shooting. You see the bad posture, slight hesitation, and everything you do wrong; but during training you thought you did everything right!
@Muckan Once upon a year it was. I used to shoot practical pistol on courses similar to the one shown. Great sport. I was certificated to shoot in Europe. In competition you had the standards which simulated about every event likely, being shot in your dominant arm, so dropping the mag and reloading one handed, belt buckle or between the knees by the way, belt buckle caused havoc with the rear sights. Drawing with right and transferring to left and then shooting with non dominant hand. El presidente was a good one involving hostages and the you had the course of fire, engaging targets on the move, had to count shots plan your reloads etc all against the clock, shooting through letterboxes, jumping out of door ways onto mattresses and engaging targets, loved it. It does take a bit of time to when you first start as you cannot get over you are holding a real gun, so you are naturally a bit scared. Once you are confident though you speed up and learn other things. Used to reload my own rounds too, trying to hit the sweetspot between accuracy, power and recoil. Ahh rambling now, I really loved the sport, then some dickhead ruined it.

Jae Garrison it is real, he had to be trained for these John Wick movies and with The Matrix. He had to learn different fighting styles and to shoot a gun, plus the “gun-fu.”
His handedness doesn’t really matter when it comes to shooting, it depends on eye dominance. For instance I am right handed but left eyed dominant so I shoot left handed
I was trained on a red dot with a front sight set up to show you how to center the dot in the middle of the glass aligned with the front post. I've seen some instructors train with both front and rear up with the dot on to train the newbie on how to line up sights, then bringing the backup sights into the standard lower 1/3 setup.

Not only is Keanu Reeves a skilled marksman,as shown here but the guy has also extensive martial arts training. He trained Muay Thai Kickboxing,Karate and various other striking martial arts with Daniel Berhardt, who is a veteran stuntman and martial arts expert. (You may know him as the Agent who fights Morpheus in Matrix Reloaded,on top of the truck or as "Kyrill",the chief-henchman of the russian mob,in John Wick 1 and many other movies like Atomic Blonde,Hobbs & Shaw etc.) On top of that,he did extensive BJJ training with the Machiado and Gracie Family, for the John Wick movies. Carlos Machiado actually said in an interview, that Keanu took the whole training extremely serious and was a fast learner,if he was 20 years younger he could have take part in official competitions and fare really well in matches.
@@benben071 Probably, but it certainly seems like there's good reason to be. Having said that, it's also entirely possible that this dude just finished a rabbit hole of Wikipedia and this is the result of that.
I thought Danny played his oldest son of the Russian Mob boss. The little boy did call him his brother in the film. (Little boy is the main dumb fuck protagonist who stole his car, and killed his dog)
You said about Keanu's skill in reloading a handgun one-handed. He actually reloads the mag and releases the slide as normal, but then he jumps his hand up the back of the grip to pull the slide back with his fingers to check the round has sat properly in the chamber. The reason he does this (so I've been told) is that that particular handgun (I forget which one it actually was) has a regular issue with not seating the round correctly, so in order to be authentic they got Keanu to do that move. Obviously it could have been done two-handed, but the one-handed approach looks so much cooler.
Mr Reeves has mad skills at the range. I remember when I first saw him at this gun range. Not only is she a monster with guns, but she finished every sauce on her wing challenge. Imagine being married to a woman who walks into a ball room and turns every head, then puts on jeans and a T-shirt and goes out shooting?
I mean there are videos of Keanu Reeves shooting at this range, the OP might be referencing that and not actually being at the range since he said he "saw" and not "met".
So,obviously, you dont know either. None of the registries from any sanctioned events have him listed as a competitor. He has no ranking in 3 gun competitions,or any other firearms competition for that matter. Stop spreading false information for attention. Ignorance is not an excuse
This discipline called “practical shooting.” The international club is called IPSC, international practical shooting confederation. USPSA, United States Practical Shooting Association, is the US club of IPSC. It is easy to find an IPSC club whatever country you are in. Of course countries that allow guns. Where I live you can shoot a USPSA “match” every weekend at different ranges.
I think he was asking about Taran Tactical specifically, though I would imagine most ranges for this would have a somewhat similar setup. 8:44 is a laser. More specifically the Crimson Trace Rail Master Green Laser. You can find that exact gun and all the specs on the Taran Tactical website if you want more info. Also, it's an MPX, not an AR platform, so specifically a competition gun.
Doesn't mean its a competition gun. The Sig Sauer MPX is first and foremost a Pistol Caliber Carbine and was developed primarily as a submachine gun. It's just marketed that way on the civilian version of Sig's website, because competitors are primarly the ones buying it.
J the MP5 also shoots 9mm but I would not put it in the competition category. That is an SMG. The MPX is an SMG and this is is the civilian variant of it. An MPX Carbine would do just fine protecting one's apartment. It does not quite have the stopping power of an AR-15 but I still would not pass up an MPX for home defense. AR is the superior platform though.
You very likely used a Benelli, possibly the M4. It “entered service” in 1999, so it depends on when you ended service and when your branch started using it.
Apologies if someone else has already said this, but the British armed forces point man uses an L128A1, which is the Benelli M40 Super 90 semi auto, so you're right it is the same one!
How Keanu Reeves learned to “look” like a professional marksman. I’d be mildly insulted if I went through that course like a supremely accurate beast and someone told me I “look” like a marksman.
Well, it's correct because unless Keanu actually went and competed, it's just for looks. I'd bet he'd place pretty well in competitions with his training, but he and Halle still only look like professional marksmen because they haven't competed.
Dr. Delaney nope you’re thinking about the other video where the Beltran Leyva suffered 11 casualties from the Marines using the Minigun. The one he’s talking about is the house Raid where the Mexican marines are in a firefight in the safehouse. Press isn't short for pressure, you're literally pressing on the slide to slightly take the pistol out of battery to visually confirm there's a round in the chamber.
This reminded me of the "Can Airsoft Translate to Real Firearms" video from T.REX ARMS for some reason, would be an awesome video to react to since you are interested in airsoft. Hope you see this XD
Airsoft is excellent for weapon handling skills and weapon manipulation, as most decent Airsoft weapons mimic real steel weapons for reloading and fire controls manipulation.
When John wick does the “one hand pistol load” and maneuvers his hand to grip the slide one handed, it’s not a load, it’s a one handed press check to ensure there is a round in chamber

I agree because you’re only trained with certain weapons unless you’re SF but what do you mean civvies? Like competitions and stuff or is there another way? Because for me personally being a good shooter is about how well you can shoot when bullets are flying past your head or hitting the ground or walls next to you. I could be wrong but some lunatic down the shooting range who thinks he could single handily take on a Delta Force would probably flap it and freeze up the minute he feels a bullet fly past him.
I saw it but it appears to be lacking a rear sight post. Odd. Though The rail isn't the whole gun, I'm not sure what it is. 3rd edit. IDK front sight post without the back post maybe?
Collapsible correct? My question it is: "does it have a red dot collapse or clear", I'd imagine it would have a red dot site, but with the scope on it behind the collapse idk how it would work out.
You can’t really tell from the video but taran always sets up the AR9 with that MRO optic and a WML (weapon mounted light) in front of it. It’s not a flip up sight. If it were, it would not be mounted so close to the optic.
It is a flip up front sight and I bet it's there to help train newbies how to find the red dot and get on target faster. Front iron sight will co-witness with the dot, no rear irons needed, and once the shooter gets the hang of using the red dot sight the iron is folded down and out of sight for maximum field of view for your pew ;)
9mm Major refers to the "power factor" attained by loading the standard case with more powder. The 2011 can handle more pressure and longer cartridge length than the standard load, therefore more velocity.
The scope on the rifle / carbine was (the bit in front) likely an improved flip up front site. And the shotgun the UK forces use is the L128A1 which is a Benelli M4, the difference between this one, and the one you probably trained on is the furniture. Different stock, fore end, shorter mag tube (theirs is longer). All these firearms have Taran Tactical custom kits put in them. Their site has more info about them tarantacticalinnovations.com/
I'm a little surprised he didn't discuss the "Center Axis Reset" hold of the gun. Notice how Keanu keeps his pistols slightly canted off center on the range and in the movie. It is not anything like "gangsta's grip" where the handgun is held almost horizontal. The purpose of the CAR is so you can keep your gun closer to your chest while shooting. Looks like Keanu is using a modified weaver stance otherwise. Feet shoulder length apart with your "weak" foot slightly forward but keeping your shoulders forward while turned slightly towards the target. It's almost impossible to remain fast and accurate while standing upright with your shoulders back.
Anticipating the recoil. Yes!. When I was taught how to shoot; My instructor gave me a revolver he said was fully loaded but it was not. He loaded every other round in the cylinder. The first round went "click" and I pushed foarward to anticipate the recoil. He stopped me and explained how I should just let it surprise me, practice grip and fundamentals and be confident and have a good grip on the weapon. A few boxes of ammo later, I'm very confident with my gun now👍
He just called an AR-15 and assault rifle...I can already hear the screaming Edit: The AR in AR-15 means Armalite Rifle which is why I made the joke since common civilians assume the AR means Assualt Rifle when the AR-15 is NOT an assault rifle. ALSO I was referring to the guy in the video not Orginal Human
@GROOT Assault Rifle is a legally defined term in America meaning, among other things, select fire: the ability to fire multiple rounds with a single pull of the trigger(three round burst or full-auto). The AR15 is by definition a civilian version of the military M16/M4 which is semi-auto only. Assault Weapon is a political term which is not legally defined. It usually refers to weapons that are semi-auto with the ability to accept a detachable magazine but it can vary by source.
@@bryanayers4557 wait wait hold up. I understand now that it's just a legal term, so thank you for teaching me that but the m4 is a carbine and the m16 a rifle so how can the ar15 be a civillian version of those combined?
@@grootsyt the AR15 can be a pistol, a rifle, or a carbine. Unlike the M1 Garand or M1 Carbine having the same M1 designation but use different ammo, .30-06 Springfield and .30 Carbine, the AR15 will all use a rifle caliber round (5.56/.223 being the most common). You can put whatever size barrel you want on it (insert SBR disclaimer here). The term "AR15" or more commonly "AR" is used so loosely here that my Sig M400 Enhanced is considered an AR15. Similar to how anything that looks like a Kalashnikova is an "AK" Unlike the M1 Garand or M1 Carbine .30-06 Springfield vs .30 Carbine. the M4 and M16 are essentially the same weapons with different barrel lengths and appropriately sized furniture. The trigger groups, bolt carrier group, and buffer, etc. may differ slightly depending on the variant and select-fire options but it's all modular and interchangeable within this weapon platform. 12:31 - Benelli M4. That's classic of classics. My dad has one and he's definitely very fond of it as a shotgun guy. Not my two cents in the world of long range precision rifles, but I must say that it packs a punch and it has very elegant design (lightweight carbon fiber with plastic components)
Yeah, that's definitely the Crimson Trace Railmaster. It looked too bulky for a front sight plus its missing the rear sight if it was a front sight. I also went to their facebook page and saw the female holding the rifle and got a closer look and definitely matches the Crimson Trace Railmaster Series.
4:25 i was literally about to say that its a rule that i go by always treat every gun like it’s loaded. Just basic respect for firearms. If you respect firearms they will respect you
@@jojossugardaddy5253 There are several tenets to gun safety, and "treating a gun as if it's loaded" is one of them. Basically, if you treat a gun as though it's loaded, you're not going to be putting your finger on the trigger and pointing the gun everywhere all willy nilly, or leaving the safety off when not in use. In short, if you treat a gun like it's loaded, you're going to (should) be extremely careful. Guns are awesome, but you don't fuck around with them.
When it comes shooting for the first time is anyone ever comfortable using a fire arm.. til you get the hang of it then confidence will come up better as well the aim.
I as super nervous the first time. I didn't grow up shooting and bought a 1911 when I turned 21. Now I have 7 firearms and carry everyday. It really is a lifestyle.
I never leaned back. For this person in the vid, it seems like thats his natural position. At one point he had his arms folded in while leaning back so its probably habit that he would need to fix.
I felt that I was more comfortable than most I've seen shoot for the first time. I was super excited and had been doing basic drills with my airsoft guns the previous night. I don't remember if I flinched until firing a shotgun for the second time since I did get nervous about that tremendous kick I had felt the first shot. Unfortunately my aim has gotten worse over time as I've developed the habit of flinching just before firing. Gotta do more dry fire baby!
Not an iron sight. You would need something at the end of the barrel for aiming an iron sight, not just a single reference point midway down the barrel. Also, any type of weapon system that would have an optic top mounted would mount an offset mounted iron sight on the right side of the optics to not get in the way. The other option for mounting iron sights would be to have a higher mounted optic, almost always a scope, not a red dot, with iron sights under the line of sight with raised rings. You wouldn't find a set up like that in a high performance gun though. What's mounted is a laser, specifically a Crimson Trace Rail Master.
@@charmi711711 why is it mounted right in front of the sight? I don't particularly like that set up. It can't be switch to iron sights on the fly. I'm also one of those who thought it was a flip up iron sight.
@@gibblets17 Because it's a specifically set up 3 gun rifle made for single stages where you test your equipment before any particular stage and know your stuff is working. This isn't a military weapon. It goes into a case, then a safe, is cleaned regularly, tested before going to the range and is babied. If I was going to war I'd never use something like this. Purely a comp gun. Also, the weapon system has no other attachment points or rails on it other than a top rail that ends before the barrel starts. It's also low enough to not get in the way of the dot in the sight. The entire handguard is designed to dissipate heat and keep the barrel as cold as possible for the rounds you're putting down range.
CM That’s not 100% correct. A lot of set ups don’t use offset irons and have flip ups for back up or possibly cowitness if it’s not a magnified optic. Though you are right that it’s probably not a back up iron, not necessarily because it’s midway on the rifle, because the rail only extends that far, but also because if you look closely, there’s no rear iron sight to use with it.

8:34 that part of the scope is the iron sights. That gun is an MPX Carbine. The barrel is originally at a typical SMG length but they gave that one an extended barrel for the sake of the movie. You can tell because the handguard has a different texture than the part under the irons. Also the weapon that you may have used in Marine training was either the Spas-12 or the L12A1 AKA, the Benelli M4 Super 90 (or the M1014 as it's commonly referred as)
Just to let you know I actually live like 20 minutes away from this place. A part of it burned down somewhat recently. I'm unsure if it's still in working order.
I believe the fire only got a couple conex containers so they lost some ammo, and it destroyed some targets on the range, but I don't think it every actually made it to the buildings. I do know they are up and running as usual.
8:40 It's a Crimson Trace model 206 green laser for a pistol. It's turned upside-down and mounted on the top Pic rail. They are low enough to not block the red dot optic. Competition shooters put them on there for shots that are faster when the gun is being held without the stock mounted and weak side shooting. They are usually sighted in for up close shots. I sometimes use mine for really close headshots instead of the red dot during competitions. Most red dots are sighted in for 15 to 25 yds and so the offset is enough to toss a lesser point hit up close.

Obviously it could have been done two-handed, but the one-handed approach looks so much cooler.
yeah it's a press check basically. it's a kimber 1911, has trouble loading the first round.

My question it is: "does it have a red dot collapse or clear",
I'd imagine it would have a red dot site, but with the scope on it behind the collapse idk how it would work out.
You can’t really tell from the video but taran always sets up the AR9 with that MRO optic and a WML (weapon mounted light) in front of it. It’s not a flip up sight. If it were, it would not be mounted so close to the optic.
@@skorpien617 came here to say the same. But it looks goofy to me regardless.

Anticipating the recoil. Yes!. When I was taught how to shoot;
My instructor gave me a revolver he said was fully loaded but it was not. He loaded every other round in the cylinder. The first round went "click" and I pushed foarward to anticipate the recoil. He stopped me and explained how I should just let it surprise me, practice grip and fundamentals and be confident and have a good grip on the weapon. A few boxes of ammo later, I'm very confident with my gun now👍
He just called an AR-15 and assault rifle...I can already hear the screaming
Edit: The AR in AR-15 means Armalite Rifle which is why I made the joke since common civilians assume the AR means Assualt Rifle when the AR-15 is NOT an assault rifle.

@@elbryan9 I did too, it looks like a folding iron sight.
If you respect firearms they will respect you
What does that mean?
@@jojossugardaddy5253 There are several tenets to gun safety, and "treating a gun as if it's loaded" is one of them. Basically, if you treat a gun as though it's loaded, you're not going to be putting your finger on the trigger and pointing the gun everywhere all willy nilly, or leaving the safety off when not in use. In short, if you treat a gun like it's loaded, you're going to (should) be extremely careful. Guns are awesome, but you don't fuck around with them.
Keanu Reeves is a extremely nice person
When it comes shooting for the first time is anyone ever comfortable using a fire arm.. til you get the hang of it then confidence will come up better as well the aim.
I was definetly leaning forward to look all tacticool first time shooting.
@@blazingfire365 yeah I kinda thought the same too.
You should set up a patreon or something to get you sent out to take a course at Taran Tactical. We'd all watch that.
The most subtle intro, “whats up everybody soo today were gonna be reacting”
i believe the front part of the top rail is a better flip up iron sight
It's not an iron sight, it's actually a green laser from Crimson Trace. tarantacticalinnovations.com/tti-mpx-pcc-ca-featureless/
To the Insider guy, the AR (ArmaLite) is not an assault rifle. It's semi-automatic, not fully semi-automatic.
Big tip: If i were you, Dont hurt animals.
?
Especially dogs. Don't hurt dogs. Specifically beagles, who just so happen to be named after a certain flower... and rides around in a 1979 Ford Mustang.
Elmo's mother Xx
I don’t know how I didn’t connect the dots
Fun fact: the insructor Jade Struck is now a playable Operator in Modern Warfare
Which operator.
Hendrik Schlüter its kinda weird being such a fan of the John Wick movies but knowing how big of a creep Taran Buter is (from guys Ive chatted to behind the scenes)
Toothless the Night fury Iskra. You can get her bundle in the shop.
james lyddall Oh damn! I just watched the "precious " video. What a fat creep he is. Maybe that’s why this girl shaved her head, so that he would be turned off by her...
What?
12:51 I think the shotgun you’re talking about is the Benelli M1.
I thought it was the Benelli M4, could be wrong.
@@andrewdunn378 yup Benelli M4 aka the L128A1 Combat Shotgun :)
@@andrewdunn378 It is the Benelli M4, my mistake.
I think He talks About SPAS-12
@@FoxLoverCZ Yeah, it might be the SPAS-12 because the Benelli M4 is literally mentioned in the video, it would've reminded him if it was the shotgun that he was thinking about. But then again, he didn't really described what it looked like.
I would enjoy seeing your reaction to Jerry Miculek.
He looks like a really sweet and energetic person i wish he had a million or two subscribers
That little part forward of the ACOG looks like a flip up iron site. When your battery dies, you flip it up and shoot old school
I thought the same thing
That's my thoughts a flip up Iron site I have them on my AR 15.
My thoughts exactly.
I have my Magpul Backup Iron Sights at each end of the rail on my AR-15. Yep, if the scope goes you use the iron sights.
The optic is a Trijicon MRO, not an ACOG and it's a laser in front of it... a Crimson Trace CMR-206
@@phoenixtx Yep. He's right.
So the female instructor, Jade Struck, is actual model for the WarZone skin Iskara.
When you said "Royal Marines start our shooting on the ground" I at first misunderstood it as like, "boots on the ground", in the field, and I was like "Wtf, that's kind of a steep hurdle", rofl.
TheCryptidman I think we all learn to shoot rifles in that order. I shot on our high school's rifle team then later on my college rifle team. Prone, kneeling then standing - all matches were fired in that order.
I applaud Keanu, Michelle, and Halle's displayed skills. It's harder than it looks. You've got to be fast but safe is priority #1 so you have to drill safety alot and try to be considerate in your movement at all times.
I finally had to press the subscribe button when I heard him say "DOGGO" instead of dog/k-9
react to "can airsoft translate to shooting skill" by t rex arms
I second this. That was flat out amazing.
I third this
In America competition shooting events like this are quite common. It's called "Three Gun"
Wow I just watched John wick last night, great timing
8:45 Its a flip up sight in its lowered position, it can be used as a backup sight incase the batteries in the optic die.
There's no rear iron sight, and it looks too weird to be a flip up iron
No it's actually a green laser from Crimson Trace. Check it out: tarantacticalinnovations.com/tti-mpx-pcc-ca-featureless/
Id love to see you react to just Keanu's training footage. It's truly impressive and im sure you'd enjoy it!
8:34 that part of the scope is the iron sights. That gun is an MPX Carbine. The barrel is originally at a typical SMG length but they gave that one an extended barrel for the sake of the movie. You can tell because the handguard has a different texture than the part under the irons. Also the weapon that you may have used in Marine training was either the Spas-12 or the L12A1 AKA, the Benelli M4 Super 90 (or the M1014 as it's commonly referred as)
Naw it's a crimson trace rail laser
It does resemble a folding iron though
"He's good...he's good..."
Well duh he's the world champion
13:47 no actually he leaned forward because the lady behind him said "lean into it" so he did.
There's a difference between leaning into it and jolting forward when you pull the trigger
Luke's face in the Thumbnail:
"Royal Marine reaction wishing he can shoot as pretty good as John Wick".
This was more like - Let's watch the reporter from Insider learning to fire guns reaction.
He did not reload the handgun with one hand that’s called a pressure check he was making sure there was a round still in the chamber ready to go
Jake Johnson press check
L128A1 is the shotgun British forces use. which is the same shotgun as in the movie, the Benelli M4
