@@disc3698 blanks are basically regular rounds that don't have a bullet (there's a bit more to it, but that's the simple version) they make noise, albeit less than an actual round, but they also still have the hot expanding gasses like a real round and can actually kill or badly burn someone if you put it right up to them.

Primary Training and mostly likely sleep deprivation for the first time. In german we have a saying "Nach müde kommt doof" "After tired comes stupid" with time and training you learn to function even with sleep deprivation and all that but at the start of training you have no basis of experience and tactics drilled into you so you don´t need to think to do stuff.

It's a mason jar, or a canning jar. Probably never had anything in it to start with... but it's sturdy glass, fairly accurate to a given quantity, and has a screw-on metal lid. Makes a great "indoor canteen".

It's the Greek Presidential Guard, in ceremonial uniform, to be precise. Their outfits are based on historical costumes from insurgents and the war for Greek independence.

8:13 these guys are from the Greek Presidential Guard called "Evzones" or informally "Tsolias" who are a ceremonial unit that guard a tomb and the President Mansion in Greece. The fancy uniform is reminiscent of the Klephts who were Greek insurgents who fought against the Ottoman Empire for an independent Greece.

Douglas Francis everyone has served with someone like this, we had dangerous Dave, he had a misfire with a pistol and decided to look down the barrel to see what the issue was, my troop SSgt saw what he was about to do so hit him in the side of the head with a helmet, he was lucky it wasn’t a hang fire otherwise he would have had a new hole to breath through on his forehead.

I have a story while I was in the Air Force. We were doing room clearing training on our base. We were using sim rounds against active opfor instructors (they had M9's with sim rounds). Our goal was to go into the building, clearing rooms and taking out the opfor, and then have two guys buddy carry a wounded guy out after the enemies were clear. Well, our fireteam had cleared everyone out and me and another teammate were carrying out the "wounded" in a two person carry and my rear security "thought" he saw someone in the room I was passing and shot me right in the ass from 6 feet away. He got ripped a new one and when asked by one of the instructors why he shot me in the ass he said "it is what it is". The instructors made him run up and down the flight line for 15 minutes for that and my ass still hurts to this day.

The “unique” uniform is a traditional Greek military uniform called fustanella which is now only worn by the Presidential Guard. It’s a ceremonial uniform, it wouldn’t be worn anywhere else.
