  • Hey Everyone,
    In this video I will be comparing the "viral" rotary scissor vs a normal string trimmer. I have Makitas version. Will give you the pros and cons of them both and at the end I give my recommendation which one is more worth to get.

      Hey Robert, glad I could help mate. If you can find a "cheap" one then go for it, they are fun to use and they do give you a good cut, but for the price of the Makita one it´s really not worth it.

    I have the Stihl reciprocator.
    It is excellent near automobiles and homes with low windows.
    Also pushing it hard into the tarmac to slice crack weeds.
    The weight is not an issue then.
    Same with vertical edging in conditions that might cause damage if debris was thrown.

      Cool! Didn´t know Stihl had one, looks to be cheaper too! I backed the wrong brand it seems :D

    The Makita battery backpack sprayer is a good value.
    If it won't prime, reach in and swivel the pick up tube upwards, take off the strainer and using a hose and nozzle set to low pressure and a smooth stream, force water into the pump while you push the trigger.
    Battery must be in and charged.
    Easy cleaning and fun to use.

      I was actually looking at it but I ended up getting a Flowzone instead, haven´t even tried it yet, so lazy! still using my manual backpack sprayer :)

    Well, I have one as well which I picked up for about 1500kr from budi. It’s far superior at doing clean edges against pavers and stuff and I love it. However, it’s no way worth paying retail pricing for it.

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  5 місяців тому

      100% agree mate! 1500 is more in the range of it being actually worth getting.

    wow you paid more for it then what you had too. that is just too kind. with all the bad luck i experience in life i would just put the good fortune of finding it under priced as being deserved.

    I think that's more meant for brushcutting but idk milwaukee markets thiers as a brush cutter granted that has bigger blades so might be completely different sorta tool also for more precision ok the edges of the lawn I'd recommend maybe looking into an edger as that's thier job

    • @sompen
      @sompen 5 місяців тому +1

      The rotary scissors are actually superior vs the standard edgers. I’ve tried them both.

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  5 місяців тому

      I would actually like to try an edger too, see how well they work, but I don´t really have that many edges. I think these are really good and I think they cut better than a string trimmer, but the trimmer CAN do the same job albeit not as good. However, it´s not that much worse considering the price of this thing.

      haha don't worry about it mate, it is a very cool and useful tool, it's only the price that is really out there, but I love using it and I promise you will too. After a couple of uses, it takes a couple of times to get used to it, have fun!

    This is pretty amazing as an edge trimmer. Probably terrible if it goes into a wire fence though... I wouldn't buy it 😅
