I love the Gold Cup and I’m a big fan of CONCACAF but not sure that I would describe it as the third best confederation. I would give that accolade to CAF the African confederation.

I didn’t know Concacaf is better than Africa. Not saying you are wrong or anything but I want to know where the evidence is for that. People like looking down in the Concacaf but our level of soccer is underestimated.
I'm not sure if FIFA has rankings for the Confederations, I was just basing that off of public perception. UEFA is by far the best and deepest, CONMEBOL has Brazil and Argentina, I guess CONCACAF and CAF could be ranked either way, I'd put CONCACAF slightly ahead though

Do you think these regional tournaments will ever lead to automatic World Cup berths? For instance It feels weird not to have the European Champs in Italy not play the World Cup. Plus it would give a lot more meaning and stakes to the competition.
Hmm that's not a bad idea, but I don't think that will ever happen, at least any time soon. Plus the regional confederations run the EURO's, Gold Cup, Copa America, etc. while FIFA runs the World Cup. Different organizations
They used to be the qualifiers for the FIFA Confederations Cup.
The Gold cup is not important to win the important tournament's are the euro's copa america's and the world cup euro's and world cups are about equally as important to win cause they are held every 4 year's Copa america's are 1 level less important cause they are not always held every 4 year's

CONCACAF gold cup is as important as the UEFA Euro, Asian Cup, Conmebol Copa America
CAF Africa cup etc
World cup is the single most important football international competition in the world.

@@agentgamingchannel. It is important since it is the largest tournament for national teams in the confederation, but if we talk about quality and skill, the Gold Cup is crap compared to the Copa America or the Euro
