I’m 22 and finally watching soccer and getting into it. I’m from America but thank you so much for this I have been confused with evrything soccer and just trying to learn evrything.
ive been getting into football (Psv zit in mijn ziel!!) over covid 19 pandemic due to lockdown and your videos on champions league, europa league and FA cup have been really helpful in allowing me to understand them. now im just watching your other vids because theyre great!
I guess Canada and the US being invited to Copa America this year is really putting them on the map, especially with Canada making the knockout round, and even moreso if the US does. CONMEBOL should consider a permanent expansion to include CONCACAF teams all the time. It would truly make COPA America the Western World's EURO
Whoa. They're expanding to 48! How did I miss that? As an avid fan of anything soccer, I was not expecting to learn something new. My humble thanks for this video.
The African cup of Nations is bigger than the North American one, there are more top players in Africa than there are in North America, Asia and Oceania, Players like (Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, Aubameyang, Ziyech, Wilfred Ndidi, Koulibaly, Keita, Mahrez and many more) makes the competition interesting
@@snowmansportsmedia awesome that would be cool. I love to play soccer and watch the World Cup but I don’t fully understand how countries qualify and all that stuff. Would be interesting as the next WC is around the corner!
Football much smaller at the Olympics, typically just 8 team tournaments I think. And for the men, Olympic teams are only players age 23 and under. The women bring their senior teams to Olympics though
I don't know anything about football, though watch & play Cricket. It's high time to know about it as copa final is happening between Brazil and Argentina!
Gosh I’m glad copa America is gonnns be 6 teams from North America for copa America the ten team format 2021 was bad 8 out of 10 make the knouckout they could of done 4 out of ten semis finals and final
Well, first they have to have the nationality of a European country. And second, their nation has to qualify. So obviously you would never see Lionel Messi at the European Championships since he's Argentinian.
Something that I always wanted to happen is that Cup of America could involve all the three Americas in a bigger tournament. Actually, it always bugged me as to why is that not a thing? I know Concacaf and Conmebol are different associations, but it's not like the couldn't talk and make an agreement.
There has been years when Mexican teams played in the CONMEBOL Libertadores, but due to calender differences it didn't last long. A tournament involving all the 3 Americas is difficult to happen bc conmebol doesn't want to lose supremacy, the north american market has more money and conmebol is afraid that entering it in a partnership with concacaf might lead to conmebol not being the most prestigious football organization in America
Yeah that makes the most sense but I do not really see it happening due to both Concacaf & Conmebol being greedy amongst each other. Concacaf has the money makers USA & Mexico they generate a ton of money during the Gold Cup. That is why the Gold Cup takes place every two years because of the money they generate. Conmebol has the competition, which is something Concacaf doesn't have. It is always Mexico or the US winning the Gold Cup and really no other country in the region stands a chance against either. It is the exact same at the club level.
I agree. Every country in America should be allowed to play. It's in the title of the competition, so Copa América should be played by every American country. Just like the Copa Libertadores, it would be much better if it was an America Champions League.
it's a great idea since it gives CONMEBOL more teams and increases the competitiveness for concacaf. Both confederations are just too prideful. Mexico and the US would probably not want to share an even piece of the pie with the south american nations, and the south americans nations usually see even the higher quality north american countries as below them.
Hey, you said that New Zealand mostly gets a free World Cup pass every year due to Oceania being a weak confederation. That's false, the whole confederation of Oceania needs to play an Intercontinental play-off against another country from another continent to Qualify to the World Cup; but due to their weakness compared to the other teams, they usually never qualify. The last time a Team from the OFC qualified for the world cup was in 2010
Great point, maybe I forgot to mention in this vid, but yeah the Oceania winner plays the 5th place team from South America for a spot in the WC. I meant it more as a knock on Oceania as a qualifying region, it's certainly not as competitive as UEFA or CONMEBOL, but you bring up a great point about the playoff. Thanks for watching!
Not sure, I think they wanted to replace it w the Club World Cup/and also had issues w Qatar hosting Confed Cup for 2021, but they may make a new competition involving UEFA and CONMEBOL starting in 2025 as a replacement too
The Euros =World Cup without Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay 😜=It is a joke, but it is often used, in my opinion Europeans tend to be Eurocentrism and we should respect and value the rest of the World😉
Lol I agree, but a quarter of my audience is from the US, so I like to alternate between calling it soccer and football to try to be inclusive for everyone!
1) The brits invented the word. 2) You really think the US is the only country? GOOGLE it and you will find out more countries are using the word soccer. Do your research buddy
There is no complete structure of the international competition. Here’s my idea: The winner of the Euros qualified for the World Cup. Same goes for African Cup, Asian Cup, And combine North and South American competitions.
They were, then Kazakhstan joined, so now there are two non-European nations in UEFA. (Guyana, Suriname, French Guinee and, as mentioned in the video, Australia also don't play in their ... erm ... 'natural' confederation)
Israel is a UEFA member because of security reasons. Just imagine Israel belonging to AFC (Asian Federation) and hs to play WC qualifiers aganst Iran or any other muslm nation!!
Why am I watching this? I've been watching Football every week for 20 years
Haha maybe you're watching because there's no football to watch right now :(

So is the uefa euro league the same as the uefa champions league?
And isn’t it every year now?
The Europa league is the secend division of the champions league teams that placed 5-6 an top 4 leagues go to that tournament

Any recommendations where to watch international soccer?
Euros and Copa America this summer are on fox sports (fox and fs1)

The world cup is Soo exciting. However super unimportant. If it was important then it would not have a Knockout round.
We get it dude you don’t like knouckouts tournament World Cup knouckouts for a reason tho no counties want it to be a league format
Why would World Cup not have a knouckout round. It can’t be a league format take way too long like cmon on dont be ingrant
Central America is part of north America, it's not its own continent.
