Very nice resto job. I had one of these when I was 12 and I just bought one the exact same year I originally had. I'm looking forward to getting it back in good shape. I enjoyed this video.
I had a 73 back in 1976 and that thing wasn't the fastest off the takeoff , But i could climb ANY hill around . My friend had a YZ 80 i would waste him on my XR , good Times for sure !
My neighbor had a Yamaha 80. Told all the kids at school it was much faster than my XR. We raced a little over a quarter mile and I smoked him. That was the end of his BS.
Well it sounds kinda like you know what you are talking about. If you were to compare a motorcycle to the YZ 80, GT 80 or KX 80 it should naturally be a CR 80 Honda. XR's were/are four stroke dirt/trail bikes. All of those you mentioned with the exception of the GT were pretty serious race bikes. I had a YZ 60 that would roast my stock XR75. But all in all an XR75 with tuning is a pretty damn nice machine capable of 14k rpm. With Jetting and a tuned pipe they won plenty of trophies.
This was the bike I learned how to ride on and when I was 4 years old and I still have it want to do a Resto on it soon since my dad passed away in 2015 but just having a hell of a time finding parts do you know where I can find any
good job, exept the spraycan paint, because as soon your leak one drop of gas over it, it wil disolve and then it's ruined. You should have bought real car paint or clear coat. That would have bin a few dollars extra but in the end way cheaper, because this spray can paint wil turn ugly in notime.
I'm so sick of searching for VIDEOS and only getting crappy SLIDE SHOWS with the most OBNOXIOUS MUSIC POSSIBLE!!! There should have to be a REQUIRED disclaimer warning people when they aren't actual real videos, and are just slide shows, or at least a search filter allowing people to filter out junk like this when they aren't real videos, but are just lazily thrown together slide shows...😡😡😡
