- Jim, Harold, and I recently had the opportunity to metal detect where an old fort was on the Oregon Trail! It was one of the last main supply points before the more isolated stretches of the trail. We found lots of old relics and even a couple coins! Don't miss this one!
All finds were made on private property with the owner's permission.
Gear Used:
Metal Detector: Minelab Equinox 600
Pinpointer: Garrett Pro-Pointer
I got a metal detector 2 days ago and you inspired me thank you 🙏
Hope you got a good one and are able to find meteorites as well as gold and coins . My latest is a conical meteorite at 6.3 pounds . Value is approximately 3 grand .
Glad I helped inspire you and good luck!
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting thank you

Is that you NebTrac???
@@CatchingFins Yes it is
@@troyschauda7357 Thought so! How you been. This is Bob (drbobinmo) from findmall forum days.
Zach here on this channel is my nephew.
And Zach, if you read this, Troy is an awesome guy. I will vouch for him any day. He even came down to Springfield to detect with me a Ray for a bit.
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting who do you talk to to get permission on the fort?
Woohoo, Zach, seated half dime and so many artifacts! What a wonderful area to hunt!💖
Thanks for stopping by Cynthia!!
Sweet finds! Not too much around my area to detect. Best find of mine is a Roosevelt silver dime.
Thanks Jacob! What state are you in?
Eastern North Carolina
5 min half dimes are hard to beat!
Just purchased a metal detector and hope to find some things on my property. My house is 118 years old and this property owned the south half of the town, the ground was purchased in 1855 and my abstract shows the lots that were sold off.
Nice finds!
Awesome video I live in Bastrop Texas
Thanks! I hunted in Bastrop earlier this year!
i honestly miss you guys out in the towns of missouri and courthouses in texas, but if you never had come here then you wouldnt have found some of the best finds of your lives. Love your intro song for this ep. btw, what is it?? God bless you!
Thanks Will! Yeah we will definitely be doing some more Missouri hunts here shortly. I also have another courthouse video to post soon so stay tuned! The song in the intro is In The Good Old Summertime by Paul Eakins. God bless man!

EEK!! A half..oh let me finish watching!
Great finds Zach! Congrats on the Silver!! God bless!
Texas Plug Riches Thanks Tracy! God bless you!
All I've discovered is that are ancestors were absolutely useless at sowing on buttons 😳
hey, Zach, how do you get your permissions? I live in Omaha and am curious how you get the Oregon Trail permissions.
It was thoughtless of you to out this land owner, and where to find their property. Did you ask if it was okay to post? Maybe they don't really want a bunch of people trying to dig up their fields.
Do you still Relic hunt with your roommate from college Kyle
Not anymore, we actually just graduated college, but I know he will never forget finding that carson city dime in my "dream yard" video!
what r the metal detectors for? never use them. why carry them.
I thought this was Down South Detecting? Nothing “South” about the Oregon Trail? When are you going to show something closer to “home”?
I would suggest anywhere in the original 13 states.
So I started this channel when I lived in Texas and everyone knows me by it so I haven’t changed it. I go to college in Nebraska which is why I’m able to do all these Oregon Trail sites
