These drills are pretty much all drills that I have seen before, but the way these guys explain and narrate them is phenomenal. You know its gold when they can talk about something you already know and you end up understanding it better.
I absolutely love the Griffey drill! I played in the Mariners Organization from 94-99 and had numerous conversations with Jr. about hitting and he’d say he just “ walks away” from his hand and his hands naturally goes into launch position. It was fun seeing that sweet swing in spring training!
@@pamelaladner9459 how did the drill go, it looks good for the hips rotation but it doesn't create load separation. Did it help your daughter improve her swing.
@@ramotav honestly dont remember. My daughter was a senior then. I remember her going through a slump but I don't remember what drills I used to help her. She wound up batting over 500 because she got an award for it, but whether I incorporated this drill or not, I can't remember.
I can’t believe I received that knowledge in baseball for free (minus cellular data and time spent watching). I appreciate this and my sons will be doing the first and third guy’s drills. Good stuff
Thank you Coach, this is valuable information for all age hitters. The three coaches also gave very specific hitting drills. Will definitely implement these drills with my youth and high school team. Thank you once again.
I am going into middle school baseball and this helps me get a little better [edit 6 months later I was on the bench for most of the year and now I'm back on this video]
@@LandonChurch15 everybody i am sorry for saying that that is cap. But I do think saying that I am an idiot is very mean. Come to channel and I will show you my videos. and songs.
Fun to come across this video. We’re from Nolensville and wish we could have met you when you were here. I know Joey well and glad he brought Hit Lab here. Thanks again for everything, your videos have been very helpful over the years.
The first guys just swung on a tee and talked. Telling kids what to do only works so so in my experience. The third guy gave actual drills so the kids could see tangible results. Love that!!
Balance is key to everything... I used to give golf lessons and the first tip offered in this video is exactly how I would present golf swing theory with new clients. "How would you catch a medicine ball?"... get there and swing.
Great stuff. What are your thoughts on not striding? Just a wide stance and use the heel strike to fire? I’m trying to help my 9 year old so I want to simplify and help him with his timing issues
What do you recommend to do with smaller stature players to produce more “pop” in their swing? Thanks for all the videos. Really appreciate everything your page is doing for coaches & players by providing valuable information that we can implement into our daily routines.
Hey guys, I want to give a huge congrats to the first guy talking about balance. What he said about being in an athletic position, has really really helped me. I am a 13 year old starting baseball, and I am getting better, also when I swing should I bring my elbows in or keep them straight?
Approx. Yes. That's why first tips on balance and athletic position are so important. Wind up or stretch..batter has to work with lead leg depth, heel up & down, time him. Mirror him
The best instructor there is the MRI of Hitting lol: the first one from Upfronting. He can pick your swing apart and put back together in a way that you would never imagine
My son is really struggling with what coach Headley was saying at the end. He goes out and then cuts across the ball. Almost as if you were trying to create a curve in ping pong. Anyone have any other drills we could do to work on this? Thanks.
We do a drill our coach taught us, where he ties a rope at waist height, and we have to swing the bat, but the bat has to remain in contact with the rope throughout the swing. It really helps to hit the ball with better elevation.
Hi Coach Madden my name is Brennan Willis and I have problem I have a nervous habit of sliding m y back foot right before the pitch is thrown ants tips on how to prevent that from happening thanks for all your awesome videos.
Guys who don’t get it will actually think the player is late on the ball with that correct swing path! Really their gonna do so much better against off speed and pitches away .
Mason Ochinero sorry to burst your bubble but you where pretty confident that the pipe was 5’ and your %100 incorrect lol...that would mean that the guy is like 2’ tall lol 🙄...the correct answer is that the pipe is around 8’
I see a lot of young hitters release their back foot at the end of the swing and step on the plate. I figure it's from really driving their hips.. Any issues with that?
Question: im 30 years old, i live in norway, with no experience with baseball. Is it any possibility to ever play in the mlb league with the correct training?
Really awesome stuff!! I do have to say the hardest thing to do in sport depends a lot on the athlete. I love the mariners, you were on an amazing team 🫡
I love the marneirs I follow them like crazy
Ive played for fun but now ive had my first training. But this griffy drill is gonna help me alot.
But i think that pvc drill is great
That last drill with the ball on the shoulder.. that’s gold
Going to have to use that one with my daughter and her teammates.
My man needs to not come from his Lumberjack job lol

I wish the orange shirt guy was my coach, he seems like he could help me hit more homers.
He’s the man!
Casey Smith is the best in the game right now. A+ stuff
John Burke he is the man!

This has helped me so much in baseball and I am now one of the best hitters on the team! THANK YOU!!
Cool. Thanks for the great drills. How long should the PVC pipe be, relative to a batters height?
The PVC drill and ball drill fantastic. Thanks
Swing path is so important !!! If the kid can master that from a young age he will crush !
Very good stuff guys, working with kids daily and these are def some of the most common issues we see.
All great drills! Many thanks to everyone.
Appreciate it guys! My son (11yrs) wants to play so good starting point for hitting. Thx

Excellent they went thru different swings, yeah! Kids there teaching you how to break thier records, listen!
Great drills. love the ones using the PVC pipe. Lots of reference to "the boys", just remember girls play ball too ;)
Top 2 for me- isolating parts of the swing and the Soto drill

Get in the gym if they are of age. Best thing to do for power. Everything else is secondary.
@@YouGoPro Hey thank you, what do you feel is of age?
@@joeray8868 I say 14, but that's just my opinion. A lot of it depends on how much testosterone they have, which varies from person to person.

I like the PVC guy in the end
Well said, great direction from the 1st guy, ive been using this with my 12-13 club and every player looks like a pro now. Thankyou
