I knew mike when he was 5 years old. His dad was my football coach in high school. Mike would be out there NAILING rocks with a bat and his form when he swung, even that young, was perfection!! Anyone who ever saw him play, when he was younger, knew that he was gong to go pro. Plus, this kid is one of the most generous and gracious human beings on the planet. Just an all around great guy and someone you are happy to see succeed. His dad is pretty cool too.... thanks for giving the world Mike coach Trout!
A-Rod is one of the best when it comes to analysis, talking baseball and especially hitting. A-Rod and Trout talking baseball, nothing short of magical.
It’s easy to hate on A-rod for plenty of reasons, but the dude is kind of a baseball savant. The one thing he is genuine about is his love for baseball...funny that trout doesn’t seem particularly cerebral or unorthodox with his approach-he just does it better than anyone else
drizzle I think his work ethic was genuine too. He used PEDs, but he also worked his ass off getting to where he got. Without PEDs he might not have gotten the 696 HR, but I think he still would have been a great player. As a former die-hard Yankee fan, I hated his arrogance, lies, attitude, awkwardness. But I appreciated his skills as a player - as a SS, 3rd baseman, as a hitter who made hits to win the game rather than just trying to go for the long ball at every at-bat
I think Mike holds a lot back in his interviews. Whether it be a calculated move or just his personality, that's what I take away from his insight. He's telling you the truth but he's vague
@@randomname3715 Not excusing it but he probably did it for the same reasons Bonds did, because they were naturally gifted and great players watching inferior players get notoriety and big contracts due to using performance enhancing drugs. clutchcity25 This is the first time I have seen A Rod have to look at his notes in an interview. I think A Rod was a little nervous too. He is a student of the game so there is no way he didn't realize how special it was to get to talk baseball with Trout on ESPN. I loved this so much.
DaggerMan11 Is that a given? Let Trout play a few more years. You might be very young if you're saying that or you forgot late 90's early to mid 2000's A Rod.
Trout is the man. Camera or not his voice is always crisp and clear. His thoughts are collective and true. More baseball players I want like him, but people in general too.
Tim Drake i would definitely be sad if trout leaves but if we can make the playoffs/ build a team around him at that point I would want him to leave and go get a ring with a team like the Phillies
I would say it will all depend on how the team plays. Ohtani came to the Angels in my opinion because of Trout. In professional sports talent attracts talent. If they can make some noise offensively in the postseason Trout aint goin nowhere. I think right now LA is doing well in the market for having some of the best players in professional sports. To loose Trout would be devastating.
I met Jeff in March of 1970. His older brother was teaching him how to play run down on an empty corner lot across from where he lived off 9th street. I was the runner; and he’s still my favorite player. What made him a great hitter: he would foul everything off from both sides of the plate. All the T-bolts love you Mike! We knew before you were born how good you could be. Thank you Jeff and mom!
If the MLB promoted their players and let them have a personality it would improve everything. The game doesn't need to change it benefits the league, the fans experienced and the players earnings potential.
LongSnappersLivesMatter wow you’re a dumbass. Lebron is on Espn because he gets good ratings for them. The nba doesn’t have to promote Lebron because the nba has generated a much larger audience over the years and has taken over social media. The mlb does have to promote him and their league. They’re soon to be the 4th most popular sport if they don’t figure it out. Football basketball and now even hockey is ahead of them and in a few years soccer will pass them up
Martin Fernandez actually by virtually every measurable the nba is not far from the mlb and the mlb is significantly down across the board. Mlb has been struggling for years to keep viewers around. And by the way I love your extremely ignorant view of nba audiences. The nba audience isn’t a bunch of gangsters and millennials like you seem to want it to be. Mlb is struggling mightily right now. Their attendance is the lowest it’s been in 15 years and is down over 6% compared to last year meanwhile the nba has consistently kept attendance where it’s been. It’s clear you want this to so badly be a millennials ruining our past time argument but it’s simple the nba on literally every platform dominates the rest of the sporting world. There main instagram account has more followers than every mlb team combined. And no again you were wrong on trump the polls were off because there was a clear bias in the way they took those polls. At the time it was considered bad to say you were voting for trump which lead to many people declining to do so for polls. When that bias was factored in the polls had it right that he would win. Baseball in no way dominates the nba just forget that dumbass shit. The nba has closed the gap on baseball, is the healthiest sport in the country, and has actually built an audience that will be alive in more than 15 years unlike the mlb. In fact baseball is about half as popular for people between the age of 18-54 and this supposed liberal millennial sport has more support from conservatives and moderates compared to baseball. So in conclusion baseball has been passed in popularity by the nba, the nba controls the 18-54 demo, it has just as much influence with conservative and moderates, has the same following of men, has 50% more backing from females, and just to really show you were baseball is it’s behind soccer by a significant margin in the 18-54 demographic as well. So I think it’s time you take a second look at your take on the nba
LongSnappersLivesMatter do a little research you’ll find baseball has half the following the nba and soccer do with 18-54 yr olds. There’s not really numbers on hockey that look at it heads up.

This man is a student of the game. He has a focus that Mickey Mantle may have had before the knee injuries. I love The Mick, but Mike Trout is the best 5 tool player I have ever seen in my lifetime.
Mike Trout is a once in a lifetime player. Like Joe DiMaggio reincarnated. Just the perfect package of speed, contact, power and defense, with a humble and positive personality. Guys like Bryce Haper and Manny Machado will never be on this kid's level.

Few can comprehend the pressure Trout could feel if he thought about it...franchise player, best ever, everyone wants something from him, envy & jealousy from teammates, on & on...you don't learn that between the lines!
So awesome listening to that “down to Earth” feedback.
Two years later and ohtani is taking the MLB by storm!!! Man is an absolute monster!!!
This is an amazing video. I love getting all this priceless info.
A-Road. Has become an outstanding host. Congrats!
Mike Trout will be one of the greats when it's all said and done. Witnessing history folks.
best player in the game and its not even close
What an amazing interview. Batting lessons from future Hall of Famers!
Jeezus A rod should be the guy asking questions at the miss America contest .
Gotta hand it to A-Rod, great interview. Trout is a baseball genius...
2 GOATS IS ALL I SEE
Love the Detail in this interview. Arod is a amazing analysist to do folllow up questions on trout descriptions
He really is built like Mickey Mantle
Best baseball video period.
A ROD is such a baseball geek. You got to love that.
Thank you ESPN/AlexR for this.
When he says for the kids at home he really means for himself lol

There is always a video that you never want to end and this is one of them
1. Mike Trout
2. Mookie Betts
3. Jose Altuve
4. Bryce Harper
5. Aaron Judge
6. J.D. Martinez
7. Manny Machado
Alex Doesnt have a last name I like this list, but I feel like Lindor or Ramirez should be on here somewhere
Wow you're right... How did I leave out Ramirez
Alex Doesnt have a last name is this based off this year cause how is Bryce on there?
Cant stand Judge to be honest and I totally agree But its tough to argue with 25 home runs
It is not josh, I think Im basing it off of career accomplishments and overall talent
Trout is the best in the game and he so humble, we want this man in Philly so bad... Baseball God’s please 🙏🏽🙏🏽
You can have him when he's 39 like everyone else.
The catch he made against Baltimore .. Still one of the best leaping grabs I've seen.
It's unfair how good he is.
A Rod is good for baseball. Mike Trout is great for baseball. Both amazing people now more than ever.
The GOAT himself #27
whew man, I'm thankful just to watch him play, ken griffey jr, was also thankful to watch him, cuz with those guys, you just know something special is going to happen when they step up to the plate!!!
Alex: “For the kids at home...”
Greatest right hand hitter in the modern era with the greatest baseball player ever.
when it's all over, trout might be the best player to have ever played the game
