  • As I approach my 25th year working in the aviation industry (flight simulator engineer), I often think back to my experiences as a child. I have my Dad to thank in many ways for my interest and enthusiasm in civil aviation. His work for BEA and British Airways from 1970 onwards gave us plentiful opportunity to travel abroad, and also visit Heathrow Airport - in most cases to the spectator's gallery that existing on the roof of the Queen's Building in the 1970s, but also via special staff "perks" to visit aircraft like Concorde, the Lockheed Tristar, and the Engineering Bases. Wonderful years and cherished memories. Dad appears with me in the very first photo... Besides this one, all of the photos and cine film were taken by my Dad. I miss my Dad.
