  • Because of COVID-19 our plans have changed and we are now in U.S. Virigin Island. We did not plan to go here but we are very happy that we made it and we think a lot about all the sailors out there that are struggling to enter any country. We really hope this situation will change soon.
    Half of this episode is recorded the Virgin Islands and the other part is recorded in Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands, where we wanted to visit the U.S. military base and where Elon Musk and SpaceX launched their first rockets.
    We hope you’ll enjoy it!

      Oooh, lucky you. the great orange orangutang running the US blanket cancelled all visas just after you arrived and they're not even accepting applications for replacements. Lucky timing.
      Don't think the BVI immigration officers were just being rude for COVID, that's their natural state.

    You were very clear and i was very interested to see your reaction to the virus circumstance. Arriving in BVI seemed like a twilight zone episode for you. I am in Vancouver Canada and many boaters have been turned away from entering. Its very sad to see, as our family here are lifetime boaters. Please take care and keep producing your vlogs. Cheers!!

    Hi guys!! just stumbled upon your video! We glad you are safe in USVI! We made it to US 3 days ago now and glad to be here. We were on our way to Bahamas but they closed the borders a day before we arrived, so we kept going to Virginia. It is cold here though!!! We are in Fishing Bay and it's a good future stop for you if you keep heading north and if borders are open. Take Care!! Love, Crew on Nimbus

    Good update, thanks,
    see, I knew you were both safe. Lots of video editing ahead and time to do it. Good for us at least. Did the drone survive? Who wouldn’t want to be isolated, on a self contained, well provisioned sailboat in paradise. Paradise is what you make it, so we are all there if we want. Love the new camera, wider, clearer image. Makes you both look much younger. Stay safe and we will too, DT,🤟👏😃

    I’m glad you made it to the US Virgin Islands and are able to take refuge for 30 days at least. We always found it a friendly place. So many other sailboats in other countries are treated with a little less respect. It was starting to concern me. Glad you’re safe look forward to hearing from you again.

    Aquarius is currently stranded in Phuket Thailand. Sri Lanka closed their boarders, as well as just about every country around Thailand. The only thing bad about USVI is the hurricane season which starts about July 1st. Hopefully you will be long gone before July. It's going to get very interesting to see where all the boats will go when the hurricane season starts. We loved our time in the USVI. If you want to get out of the city, you can sail (2 hours or so) to Christmas Cove, nice place to hang out for a week or two. The Yacht Club is right there, and not sure if the pizza boat is still working, but if so you can get a pizza or two. It's also next to Jeffrey Epstine's two Islands, the closest of which I called Pedophile Island. Good luck with your quarantine, but I will say, a boat in USVI is probably the best place to be quarantined. Fair Winds!

    Thank you for your wonderful and informative video, you certainly picked a beautiful place to sit/ride/float out this man made debacle. I as an Englishman am apalled at your treatment by the civil (not so) servants on your entry to BVI. This is unacceptable behaviour to guests seeking succour from a friendly country, please accept my apologies. You both seem to be living the dream and also seem to be exceptional people, please keep posting your videos as we "chair/desk bound sailors long to be where you are.

    As someone who's British I feel embarrassed to learn of your experience with the customs and/or immigration officials in the BVIs. I know the islands have their own government but they are also a British Territory with a governor appointed from the UK.
    It is patently obvious that people will sail in from being out at sea and require shelter and supplies. It should also be obvious that sailors will probably not have the latest information on what is happening ashore. There is a long history of port officials and seafarers managing disease and controlling the spread of infection.
    State officials should be seen as a beacon of reassurance, providing a safe and professional service with expert advice for people. The very definition of a virus pandemic like this means that we are 'all in this together'. I can only suppose that the officials in question were themselves scared, not sure what to do for the best and lost their composure - very disappointing. I'm so sorry that happened and glad you found a suitable location.

    You should be glad you're in the USVI. I was there 30 yrs ago with my gf on vacation from a job in Puerto Rico, fantastic place. You should also be glad you're not in Sweden. The idea that the spread must follow its natural course to build flock immunity in the population has resulted in fewer restrictions as compared to the rest of the world: pre- and primary schools, ski resorts, public transport, bars and restaurants, etc are still open. Last week Sweden had comparable number of deaths to Norway (not sure but about 10),,, as I write Sweden has 105 deaths, Norway 19. Nobody understands Sweden.

  • @bewell4743
    @bewell4743 4 роки тому +1

    It makes no sense that if a boat arrives with 2 people after being on the water for longer than (14 days really) 3 weeks that that boat couldn't get supplies and then leave again. In 3 weeks you either had the virus and are immune or you never had the virus in the first place. Ok add a week and let's say 4 weeks for extra extra safety. But there is a time line that is safe . Play safe, and sorry some customs agents have lost their souls doing such a difficult job.

Those of us that are lucky enough to be on a Yacht sailing around the world have no business complainin'. But, that said, a guy living on the street in San Francisco would say anyone in a nice apartment would have no right to complain. It's all relative.
