    Randy's interview voice is sick
And It's crazy to see footage of Randy drinking after all these years. If that man can go as hard as he has the last several years sober, on tour with the influences he dealt with, can overcome, I'd like to think I could as well.

I was 14 years old in 2004 and I already heard everything by Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and other metal bands. I saw the music video for "Ruin" and holy fucking shit, they changed the metal world! I've been HOOKED to them ever since! I met Chris Adler before they opened for Metallica in 2008, then I met Randy Blythe in 2009 when they were headlining for the Wrath album!
I also have a HUGE custom made painting of Mark Morton between my guitars on the wall in my living room! I fucking LOVE Lamb of God! Their music saved me as a teenager!

The lyrics to some of As the Palaces burn are so inspiring to me, especially the title track, boot scraper and Vigil. They all touch on working class/ lower class rage that to me is so at home in metal music and I wish I heard more class conscious songs like this. Even if that wasn't the intention behind them (admittedly bootscraper seems to be however), but it fits so well with in the aggression and heaviness of metal music. I really wish we heard it more often. Hearing Randy's demon-like screaming when saying "Turn and bite" or "Sickness to you my master" are so inspiring to me as a working class person completely pissed off at how much the working class has bee crushed all over the world.

Metal is middle class. It's definitely not specifically working class, I'd say it's definitely a white collar rather than a blue collar's thing although not exclusively. Poorer individuals work their butts off, no time for the luxury of going out of their way to yell and bang, and metal appeals to the wealthy kid who wants to rebel, it's basically what romanticism was to the rich bourgeois long ago, today.
