Thank you so much for your tour of Douglas on the Isle of Man. As an American, just a few days ago I had no idea that the Isle of Man even existed. Now, thanks to you and several others, the Isle of Man has become a desination for a future vacation.
Hello Vic, over the years I have been involved in long distance radio listening or DXing as it is known , As of 2006 after those many years at the radio dial, I was finally able to hear a signal using combined modes of radio from every independent country and continent on earth as well as many other territories/possessions as well . Along came an idea to me recently that I wanted to watch a travel type video from every independent nation in the world as well as the many other islands/territories. As of now I am about 10 countries away from viewing the entire list of independent nations in the world and that comes with a huge Thank you to you and the videos you have posted on You Tube . Watching yours and other people who have posted videos it has allowed me to see even a small portion of every nation on earth. Personally I have only visited Mexico, Canada and the United States so it has given me a great perspective of what other parts of the world are like . Once again Thank you so much I have really enjoyed the armchair travels. Happy New Year to you and all the Best from Carbonear, Newfoundland Canada
Hello my friend, thank you for these wonderful, touching comments!! I have been fortunate to have visited over 170 of the countries of the world and I have been so happy to be able to share my videos with you and with others... thank you for your comments!
Vic Stefanu - World Travels and Adventures Thanks to you for showing us this place, which until yesterday I did not know! I was looking for a city in Canada (Google Maps), and by mistake I ended up in a town of the UK! Then I looked across the UK and Ireland (Google Earth), and saw this island (Island of Man), which had never paid attention, and also do not remember seeing a documentary about her! I found interesting to be unique in this region! I approached, to observe it better, as it should be and what should be there! So caught my attention the city of Douglas by size; I approached, Google Earth, then searched videos on You Tube on the island and this city of Douglas! I had never heard of these places. I was amazed! As there are such wonderful places on earth, that most of us do not know! ... Thanks! ...
I went with mum and dad a few years ago on a coach holiday I'm going back on my own soon for a second visit this is seriously the coolest place on earth
Isle of Man is a little island that's perfect in every way...unspoilt by councils ..it remains how I remember it as a child. My first visit was as a baby 11months old coming over to see the Manx side of Mum's family ...I am in love with our IOM
the isle of man is a wonderful place. there are so many places to see like peel castle, castle rushan, house of mann , mona castle (you cant go inside), tower refuge, laxey wheel, gaety thearter and you can also wach the tt. the tt happens every year and the prom is 2 miles and there are also cats with no tail! they are called manx cats

*Thank you for this video! Douglas is a beautiful city. I'm curious to know whether you ever heard the Manx language being spoken there. Just 20 years ago it was accounted "a dead language"--but now I hear that there is at least one elementary school where Manx is the main language of instruction.*

Vic, you should come back in summer-time ! Douglas and the whole island look much more beautiful then. We are just back ; everything was so colourful, lots of flowers, blue sea, blue sky .. Douglas is not the nicest place on the island anyway - and he, you forgot to visit the former home of the Bee Gees .-) But thanks for sharing this.
IOM is absolutely beautiful. I was there last year and visited a few of the islands. And I did trek up the hill from the Promanade to 50 SCD, former Bee Gees home. It did rain but when the sun came out it was gorgeous. I spoke to quite a few locals; some saying they never wanted to leave and others saying they couldn't wait to get off of the island. A lot depends on age and experience. But the common thread was their love of their home and the beauty of it all. Would love to go back.

I have very fond memories of holidaying for several summers during the 1970s in Douglas when I was a child . One of those years it was actually extremely hot because there was a legendary heat wave in 1976. Other times, however the weather could be damp but this never spoilt my fun. One of many memories that I have concerns waiting at the airport to fly back home to Belfast during a rainy afternoon in 1978 and having a hit song of that particular summer called 'Airport' by The Motors going around and around in my head ! (LOL) Precious memories, great chart music, fabulous times and a wonderful place. Long live the Isle of Man !!!
I long to visit or live in this gem. I have spent hours with Google street view exploring IOM! I have an answer for anyone that would ask me, "Joe, what would you do if you hit the lottery?" I think you know the answer.
Neither. It's a self governing British Crown Dependency. The UK government is only responsible for the island's defence and foreign affairs. Manx people hold British citizenship so they are Brits but not English, Scottish, Welsh or northern Irish
+jack tyrer I was there very briefly a few months ago- it's an absolute paradise in my eyes, but I could see how it would feel very small to someone that lives there. Enjoy while you're there- someday you'll want nothing more than a quiet, pleasant place like it.
Having lived on the Isle of Man all of my life I can safely say it is my favourite place in the world. It's so peaceful.

The cats don't exactly have completely no tail
It's just very short
It depend on what type of Manx cat it is, there are rumpy's that have no tail and stumpy's that have a very short tail. Both are common.

Bee Gees were born there !!!
Interesting, thank you!
Nice
Thank you!! 👍👍👍
I long to visit or live in this gem. I have spent hours with Google street view exploring IOM! I have an answer for anyone that would ask me, "Joe, what would you do if you hit the lottery?" I think you know the answer.
I think I do.. It is a beautiful place indeed and I need to go back and this time I will stay much longer... Thank you for viewing my videos!!
Isle of Man...is part of United Kingdom or Ireland?
The UK.. thank you for watching my videos!! 👍👍👍
Neither. Self governing. Oldest continuously running parliament in all of history. 1000+ years.
Neither. It's a self governing British Crown Dependency. The UK government is only responsible for the island's defence and foreign affairs. Manx people hold British citizenship so they are Brits but not English, Scottish, Welsh or northern Irish
The Isle of Man is not part of Ireland or the UK

Sir u live in douglas
No, I was only visiting there!
Douglas is the worst part of the island by far, Peel or Port Erin on a summers day takes some beating.
Hello, thank you for viewing my videos!!
Who's born in the Isle of Man is a British Citizen?
Yes, Isle of Man passport holders are generally British citizens
2:51 ¿What place is that?
You may be referring to the memorial shown??
@@VicStefanu Yes.
I live on the isle of man and it is boring it rains too much
+jack tyrer It may be boring (to you) but I thought it was a beautiful place.. thank you for viewing my videos!!
+jack tyrer I was there very briefly a few months ago- it's an absolute paradise in my eyes, but I could see how it would feel very small to someone that lives there. Enjoy while you're there- someday you'll want nothing more than a quiet, pleasant place like it.
It does kinda get boring after a while (I live in the Isle of Man) but when it's sunny it's absolutely beautiful

It certainly did rain there, but I lived in Seattle for a long time before- I actually enjoy wet weather :-)
+Jessica Christian True.. thank you for viewing my videos!!
