Around 14~ years old, I had a friend who's family lived as the landlords in the Grove Museum after moving as our neighbors. So many memories from getting the bus from Douglas and doing all sorts of stuff up there. He was a couple years older and soon learning to drive, so we would practice in the field next to the museum haha. Christmas nativity sets in the barn there too, which me and my dad helped create barn animal noises that was playing over the PA's... playing PC games in his room tucked away inside the residential section of the house. His mum baking all sorts of cakes (professional baker) for weddings etc. Birthday parties, etc etc. Great memories!
@@MemorySeekers We really do look forward to your videos! There are places you share with us Americans, which, being “across the pond” from you, we may not be able to see for ourselves. Thank you! What a tranquil, idyllic and relaxing place with a fascinating history the Isle of Man is. And, wow, there’s even a Calf of Man. The Douglas family chose a perfect place to retire. We’re grateful to their granddaughters for helping to preserve this lovely spot so that we might enjoy it!
I watched a recent video which highlights a lot of derelict sites in Douglas. Also, the promenade looked very shabby and devoid of it's former charms. It looked nothing like the Douglas I knew and loved in the 1980s. Has it improved at all?
@@Valentinavibrant they add new regulations each year but it is quite dangerous TT last year was quite bad with quite a few deaths at a certain point of thr course
Much easier to visit places out of season even though some places are shut. What an interesting place, housing very similar to Shetland and Orkney. Thanks =-) Love the video and your research =-)
Thank you for the wonderful tour around the Isle of Man. Quaint villages, beautiful scenery and lots of history & historical buildings made this so delightful. Thanks also for the video of your first visit to the IOM.
Thank you Marsha, we have had two wonderful trips there. It has a very relaxed feel which I guess is gained but the wide open spaces, the coast and as you said all the lovely villages and history. I am sure we will go back for more some day.

Que belleza de la isla y con tantos castillos co su historia. Creo que en mis vidas pasadas viví en Inglaterra ,porque me gusta mucho y me siento muy conectada . Saludos de Chile.
Thank you SO much for this beautiful video. I am glad you got some nice, sunny days (the place looked very gloomy at the beginning) The lunch at Peel looked wonderful, being Italian I thought the large dish was a lasagna! (LOL) The Sunday roast was magnificent! I wish I were there! 😋😋Did you manage to eat all that? 😁😁The sunset on Calf Sound was beautiful. Thank you! Greetings from Argentina!🤩🤩
Haha yes it did look like lasagna! We did eat all the Sunday roast as that was our only meal of the day. It was very late when we flew back to England and so had no time for another meal. 😊
Beautiful video about the Isle of Man 🇮🇲👍👍 I came back a few days ago and it was fantastic as always🏆 Thank you for the video and best regards 😜 ljubott 🖐

Good evening all at Memory Seekers. I came across your channel a few weeks ago and I enjoy it so much. The photography and production is excellent. Also beautiful narration. X❤️🏴
We went to visit my son and his family last year.Awesome place to visit. We coming back to see our own Manx baby.We are South African but she was born there❤.
Hello now are you look forward to watching your vidio they are very interested I have been to lsle of man twice its good to go on the horse tram and they have the TT races there too you can get couch trips there too and go to fairy bridge were you can make a wish and the laxy wheel and manx cats best wishes take care stay safe xx ❤😅😅
Yes next time I would try the horse tram, just ran out of time due to the bad weather on the first day. We had to squeeze in a lot more to Sunday. I would probably give the TT a miss. Not really a motorbike fan and I imagine it's hard to move around the Isle due the events. Thank you for all the suggestions!
A lovely Adventure - what sort of price would you expect to pay for flights? It does look like a relaxing destination. - is there anything that tells you it's not really part of the UK, despite such an entwined past - like different money or pub opening hours, no speed cameras _ the mail boxes looked the same? Do you feel like you are in another country or not really? Thanks for another entertaining getaway - Happy Travels!
They have there own currency with the same denominations as the UK. UK currency is legal tender in the Isle of Man but Manx currency is not accepted in the UK. Other than that I didn't really feel like we were in a different country, just a better pace of life! We have been able to get flights for under £90 return each from Gatwick, but think the earlier you book the better. I remember last time I think it was a bargain at £50 return for the 50 minute flight. Certain an affordable place to go for a weekend.
I believe the Volks railway is the first and oldest still running tram/railway. it would be worth a glance at the old windmill near castle town where the original museum of witchcraft was opened in the 1950's, i would love to glimpse it as it is now. no longer a museum.
Volkswagen is the oldest in use, agree. I was saying oldest using its original rolling stock according to their website. Sorry if that was not clear. Where is the windmill I can’t say I’ve seen anything on that?
I love IOM. I live in Bolton North West England so not far to drive to Liverpool and the ferry. Ive been many times and love it. I never go when the TT is on, leave that to the bikers. My 23 year old wonderful Vauxhall Corsa couldn't compete with the bikes 😂😂.
