    Got some for father's day. Out the box they're whatever. Once you open the app and fixed the levels it's awesome. Almost reminds me of the Sony xm3's..almost. a tip I found out in the app settings..TURN THE LOUDNESS OFF! They hit way better with it turned off

      Hey lifeonmars- thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience! I totally agree- with a bit of tweaking they definitely sound better and I think they will even improve upon this through some kind of personalized audio tuning software within the app.. Good call on turning off the Loudness setting; I'll have to try that out. And yeah, they do remind me a bit of the Sony XM3's too (still have a pair in use haha) Appreciate the tip and thanks for watching!

    Listening to this video on my new Sonos Ace headphones. Love the sound. Love the comfort. Great ANC (in my opinion). These are far more impressive for me than AirPod Max, particularly with regards to the long-term wearability.
    They do lack brightness as you stated. I notched up treble and actually dropped bass. Now I am quite happy.
    Disappointed in ecosystem compatibility (I use older Sonos soundbars) but I knew the limitations prior to purchase. The TV sound handoff would be nice but was not a show-stopper. It f that changes, I guess I can see 1 or 2 Arcs in my future.

      Hello David!
      First off, thanks a ton for sharing your experience- It's awesome to hear you're enjoying the sound and comfort-they really nailed it on that front, didn't they?
      I completely get where you're coming from with the ANC and long-term wearability. It's great to see these headphones carving out a space for themselves, especially when it comes to comfort over extended periods.
      The ecosystem compatibility is definitely a sticking point for a lot of folks, especially if you’re invested in older Sonos gear. It’s a bummer that it’s not as seamless as it could be. But like you said, if Sonos steps up the integration, those Arcs might be a tempting upgrade down the line.
      Thanks again for your thoughtful comment and for tuning into the video! Keep enjoying the music!

    your videos are solid! I still find myself thinking why when it comes to these headphones I just can’t think of one single reason why I would buy those headphones. I feel like the closest thing to a good reason I can find is if I currently don’t have a set of headphones and I’m already buying a bunch of Sonos stuff and I see they have headphones and I’m such a big fan boy that I just say “oh I’ll get the headphones too.”
    I am curious though did you try them at all using TV audio as a source?

    • @NigelWorkman
      @NigelWorkman  26 днів тому

      Hey Salvaggion! Yes, I did quite a bit of testing using TV audio as the source. As mentioned in the video, you have an audio swap option with a compatible Sonos soundbar. In my case, I was swapping with my Arc and was not very impressed with the multichannel experience. I believe this will be resolved through future updates, but if someone were to run out and purchase these with the purpose of using them for movies/TV, I feel this initial implementation of Atmos misses the mark by a large margin. Those who have experienced the AirPods Max and the spatial/Atmos audio they are capable of producing will certainly be disappointed with the Ace in this regard.
      Once again, I don't think these are issues that we will be talking about in a few months' time as they can be addressed through software updates, but as of now, I would recommend holding off to those that were planning to use them for movies.
      Thanks for stopping by, Salvaggion! I appreciate you!!

    Another great review! Sounds like Sonos needs to level up their eco system game.

      @NigelWorkman  27 днів тому +1

      Hey, Linde- outside of the headphones, it really works well! They just need to figure out a way to give the ace the same treatment!
      Also- do you think I used the word “Ecosystem” enough? Probably could have squeezed a few more in there 😂
      Totally didn’t realize how many times I had said that- I’m actually kind of cringing over over here lol
      Take care and see you on the next one

    Thank you for this one. Can you tell me whats the inner size of the cups? Heaving slightly larger ears than average, i hope they fit me. Are the insides smaller than the Apple ones?

    • @NigelWorkman
      @NigelWorkman  26 днів тому +1

      Hello, Steven-thanks for stopping by! I don't know the exact measurements of the Ace, but I can tell you that they have a similar depth to the AirPods Max. However, they are not quite as tall. When I wear the Max, there is very little contact with any portion of my ear. However, with the Ace, there is significant contact with the top or bottom of my ear, depending on how I position them. This hasn't caused me any discomfort so far, as the materials used are quite soft. However, with a long listening session, I would imagine this could cause a bit of fatigue, albeit a small amount.
      Hope this helps, Steven!

      Thnx for your fast reaction Nigel, much appreciated! It does help me a lot to know the cups area little bit smaller than the Airpods Max. I was in doubt what to buy because i am totally invested in both systems. My main use will be watching TV and was expecting the Ace would nail that in quality but at this moment they don’t judging your good review. I guess i wait for the Airpods max 2 to come out later this year? Lot’s of Apple heads think this would happen. Thank you again and good luck building your channel! #subscribed

    Interesting, everyone else says dolby atmos contents can be played from your phone via the Sonos Ace. In apple music settings, i believe the dolby atmos has to be always on but also works with Amazon music or Tidal.
    Also, when watching a movie with dolby atmos support, eg. on netflix, the dolby atmos sound will be send to the headphones, as long as the source device supports dolby atmos. That is my experience.
    But if you watching tv, you'll need the Sonos Arc soundbar. And an iPhone/iPad.
    Even doing the soundbar calibration in your room requires an iOS device.
    This discrimination with the Android users is disgusting. Why nobody is talking about this?

      @NigelWorkman  25 днів тому

      Hey Atti- thanks for stopping by! And this is exactly why I wish I had the ability to edit my videos! Lol
      My Ace headphones have been having connectivity issues across the board, which is something I really wish I could mention now. You are correct about atmos being possible from the app, but in my experience that was only with the headphones plugged in (Apple device) and In my case, when it is working, it has some crackling in the background. I have already sent mine back to Sonos for a replacement unit for this reason. I think I might have the ability to go in and chop that section out- I’ll have to look into this.
      Either way, I appreciate you pointing this out- and hopefully I can make an adjustment to the video. I’ll definitely be testing my new pair when they arrive, just to be certain that the Shoddy atmos performance is no longer present.
      Thanks again for taking the time to leave such a detailed comment , Atti- I really appreciate it!

    Someone can probably educate me here, but I can’t see how Atmos can work in a headphone. I thought the point of Atmos was that it projects from multiple and directional speakers.

    • @NigelWorkman
      @NigelWorkman  25 днів тому

      Hello, Mark thanks for stopping by! This is a great question but I’m no audio expert so I’ll explain the best I can. Dolby Atmos in headphones works by using advanced audio processing to simulate the experience of sound coming from all around you, even though you only have two speakers (one in each ear). The technology alters the timing, volume, and frequency of sounds to trick your brain into perceiving them from different directions, including from above. So, while it’s not the same as having multiple physical speakers, it’s pretty impressive how close it feels!
      Hope this helps!

    Literally, the one implementation that these would be great for, including them in your Sonos device network, hasn't been considered. Ridiculous. This just adds to my growing frustration with Sonos and the way it implements it's devices/apps upgrades 🤷‍♂

    • @NigelWorkman
      @NigelWorkman  20 днів тому

      Hey, Jimmy- Thanks for stopping by! I hear you. The lack of integration with the Sonos ecosystem is a big letdown, especially when the Ace headphones themselves are otherwise fantastic. It’s frustrating when a great product has such a glaring oversight. Let's hope Sonos listens to our feedback and makes some improvements. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for taking the time to leave- I really really appreciate it!

      Hello, GameAllDay-thanks for dropping by! I was actually surprised by how unimpressed I was, LOL. My experience with their other Atmos-enabled products has been amazing! The Arc soundbar and the Era 300 speakers are both awesome! This initial implementation is pretty lackluster, but I'm hopeful they will address these issues through updates. Maybe even adding a personalized audio setting will help.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment, GameAllDay-I really appreciate it!
