    Some further thoughts on battery life outside of review experiment. I fully charged it on Monday night. Starting using it on Tuesday morning. It lasted until late Friday night, with around 5 to 6 hours of use per day, and plenty of time just sitting around on. ANC the whole time. So four full days of what I would call regular to above normal use.

    Out of curiosity - do you know what the delay is like? I know these headphones, or headsets alike, use some special system to compensate for delay. But if you launch a mobile game for example - do you find that the audio is delayed per chance? Thanks for the review - super helpful! 🙏

      There were very standoffish (is that a word?) when it came to gaming. I asked a few times about it and they were focused on audio. However, the latency is excellent, because they need it to work for the TV swap. Otherwise you're watching a screen and hearing things at a different time. Let me double check for you with a mobile game specifically.

      @motivatedtravel I see - well, that's hopeful! I specifically intend to use its bluetooth functionality to connect to my computer for gaming, but mobile gaming should reveal if it'll be suitable or not. Do let me know how your testing goes! I greatly appreciate your time and extra effort! 🙏

    Getting mine tomorrow. Test playlist - D'angelo & the Vanguard (Black Messiah), Michael Jackson (Off the Wall), Wutang Clan (Forever), Bob Marley (any). If all these are handled well then no return. Can't wait these look amazing 😍

      Love your mix. DÁngelo Voodoo album is one of the all time greats for headphones. The new Billie Ellish is similar paired back multi-textured. A song that randomly popped up for me yesterday and sounded great was Waiting for the Storm by Ikebe Shakedown.
      We have similar tastes it seems, you might enjoy a shuffle through this playlist. Whenever I hear a great tuned, it goes in here - open.spotify.com/playlist/73IHEWmcwachg0UTPnQjjV?si=65de797baafb49ce

      @@motivatedtravel awesome! Thank you for sharing your playlist. I have to agree on the Voodoo album. It is THE ONE when it comes to D'Angelo. I went with black Messiah because it is more layered and I think it will be challenging in separating instruments for most speakers and headphones hence a good test. I'm yet to listen to Billie Eilish's new album, so this is actually a good opportunity to do so. Thanks for the recommendation. By the way, I am 2 hours away from receiving them 🤣

      @@motivatedtravel I took some time to get to know them and their characteristics. In a nutshell, I don't like them. I absolutely love them!!! They are attached to my head all day long. I work from home. The pass-through and noise cancelling is all mind-blowing and comes into play at different times during my work day. Sonically, I actually love the sound although the bass did take some getting used to as it has a unique characteristic. With some adjustment to the two band EQ, -2 on the bass and +7 on the high end, all of the music that I listen to is sounding to my liking with that profile. Needless to say... happy all the way.

      @@Webzterr Super stoked to hear that! I too have found myself wearing them most of the day and ditching my PC speakers. I''ve had the bass up a bit and I like it, but definitely seems to pull out certain genres better.

    Can you please let us know how LOUD they get comparative to something like the Apple AirPods Max or Sony XM5’s? The AirPods are too quiet to me and if the Sonos are the same volume I will probably pass

      Let me see if I have both of those headsets on me and get back to you. I reviewed that at launch, but can't recall if they are still here or not. Will get back to you.
      I will say I found them loud to the point where I wouldn't put them full volume.

    I agree I think these headphones are really clear, but I find bass a bit lacking. Even when I bump it up in eq i hear it for sure but I don’t feel it

      I can understand that feeling. I think the balance is great, everything sounds right. But if you want bass specifically, then you might want to push that up further than it will go.

    I need a pair of headphones and a soundbar for the bedroom it’s buy these and a beam arc to big for the bedroom or go Bose 600 and ultra not sure which way to go atm.
    Might hold off a month or 2 and see what eventuates.

      These will be updated to support Beam (and maybe even Ray as well) soon

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  2 місяці тому +1

      It may depend on how long it is before the Beam functionality comes. There's no timeline in place, and the app release went poorly and could be tying up a lot of their resources in the short-term.

    15:00 - Why doesn't it work with an Android phone, if it's only supposed to connect with an Arc soundbar? Can you please clarify?
    My main phone is a Pixel but I have an old iPhone SE lying around somewhere. And I do have the Arc soundbar (and a PS5 connected to the TV). This setup should work, right?

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  2 місяці тому +1

      I have a Pixel, too. So basically, to activate TV Swap as a feature, you need to turn it on in the app. That feature is available in both iPhone and Android apps, but in the Android version, nothing happens when you tap the feature. No pop-up, nothing.
      I asked Sonos directly, thinking I was doing something wrong. Word back was that it doesn't work on Android OS yet. So, you can't turn TV Swap on via an Android phone.
      I'm not sure if you can use an iPhone just to turn on TV Swap, but I doubt it. I suspect it will need to be the app you're using to run your ecosystem.
      Surely the update can't be far away, but no date has been provided.
      So to answer your question. Arc + iPhone SE + Ace should work, yes.

      The answer is simple. Sonos discriminates the Android users. First, you required an iOS device to set up the Audio swap between the Ace headphones and Arc soundbar. Second, even calibrating the Arc to your room requires an iOS device. Disgusting.
      Other manufacturers can provide their own mic for the calibration or just emit a sound directly from the soundbar...eg. Bose soundbars, Sennehiser Ambeo soundbars, etc.
      Actually I'm not surprised, as when I checked the box the usual 'Works with Android' badge which is usually there on every set of headphones boxes is missing. There is only a 'Made for iPhone/iPad badge.'
      Sonos simply hates and ignores Android users and losing a massive market because of this silly, discriminative decision.
